Weight Loss Can you lose weight eating McDonalds? Aug 13 2008

Of course you can. If you eat fewer calories than you burn you will lose weight no matter what the calories come from. I don't suggest it though. McDonald's is not so much food as it is a science experiment. And you'd be surprised how bad for you the salads and the yogurt parfaits are. If you get one of their salads and take off all the extras and don't put the dressing on it, then sure it is healthy but really what's the point? It's cheaper and tastier to buy a bag of lettuce from the grocery store.

Thanks everyone. I guess it is just fluctuation or water weight. Water weight seems the most likely thing...thanks.

I'm 5'2" and 16 years old. I started dieting two days ago at 144 pounds. I weighed myself today and I'm 139 pounds.

I am trying one myself at the moment, but it's too early to see significant results as of yet. I have heard that they work though.

The point is eating, for example, 1200 calories one day, then 1400, 1600, 1800 then the cycle repeats. Apparently it keeps your metabolism guessing.

I didn't read this whole article, but it seems to explain things well, so it might help. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1608/i s_3_18/ai_83343022

Weight Loss Can eating slow(er) help weight loss? Aug 12 2008

That sounds totally valid to me. If you eat slowly you notice when you first feel full, if that makes sense. If you eat all the food in front of you very quickly, you don't pause to see if you are actually still hungry before eating more.

I hope that makes some sense...I couldn't exactly find the right way to express it.
