Gi-jane, we do eat when we go out with her.. None of us have a problem eating whatever. We are veryyy supportive of her to be healthy again, its just very hard to have someone force food at you when you are no hungry and have already eaten. Thanks for both of your advice, it has helped open my eyes more to an ED. Its just hard to see it from her view when i have a completely different mindset. |

i mean dont get me wrong, I lovee fast food and nothing stops me from eating it when i want it!! i just think that a nutritionist should be teaching people to be healthy rather than just to eat so they gain weight. Wouldnt it be better for someone to gain weight slowly? i mean she has gained a ton of weight in a veryy short amount of time and it just seems to me that her eating habits are going to make her relapse into her ED very quickly. Also, she is beginning to tell me and my friends that we need to eat more. When we go out to eat she will buy us extra food and make us eat it. We all bite our tongues and dont say anything becasue we want to help her. None of us are underweight though. I am 5'5 and 125 pounds. My roomates are all around my size. Could she be doing this because she is self concious of being bigger than us? Is there anything we can say to her or should we just keep quiet? |

| Health & Support | I turn 20 in a month, calories change? | Oct 23 2008 14:19 (UTC) |

hey bananee, I am turning 21 in two days but for the past year or so i have been eating anywhere from 1400-1800 calories a day. I am 5'5 and about 122 pounds. I excerise atleast 3 days a week at a high intensity level. I have been able to maintain my weight on this amount of calories.( although those days i am working out i make sure to eat more.) so what i would recommend it stay where you are for now. It seems like you are eating just the right amount. But listen to your body. If you start to feel weak, eat some more. Dont stress about numbers, your body will let you know what it needs!! |

hey Meggymouse, i know EXACTLY how you feel! i started working a 8-5 job job about 4 months ago and i turned into the laziest person. i would go to work, come home..eat..and sit on the couch the rest of the night until it was time to go to bed. Within a few weeks i had to start unbuttoning my work pants when i sat because i put on weight. after being depressed for a while i decided to do something about it. I dont know about you, but i would buy lunch everyday. I saw a BIG change in how i felt and my weight when i started to make my own lunches. this way you know exactly what and how much you are eating. try to eat a light meal for lunch and two small snacks during the rest of the work day. As for after work, start excersing. You dont need to go in full force in the beginning but try to subtly get into it. I dont know where you live or what but im in the city so sometimes i will walk home to get a little excercise. I know its HARD getting back into working out when you have a long time off of it, but force yourself to do it and you will feel so much better! so again, trust me i know just how you feel!! This is what i did and i have felt really good about myself recently!! i hope this helps, even if its just a little motivation! |
