Foods Measuring 1oz of Cheese Sep 28 2006

I see the best and most accurate way to measure if you have 1oz of any food is to measure it on a food scale. It measures the weight of your food in ozs unless you get a good digital one it will measure in ozs, gm, lb, kg and all. You can buy analog food scales at places like kmart, walmart & Ive even seen some up a dollar store one time for about 8 dollars. There are good digital ones you can buy as well at department stores or look on the internet sometimes you can find a better deal. I have an analog myself as I only need a good wee estimate of measurment & I don't measure really large portions of anything.

If I didn't have a food scale I would measure 1oz of shredded cheese as it goes in the exchange system to equal one protein exchange, & That would be 1/4 of a cup, leveled & 1oz of cubed cheese is about 1 inch cube. I never trust slices theyre always cut so differently so I ALWAYS weigh them.

Edit: Oh wow I was late replying because I wrote a novel.
Weight Loss Can tea slow down your metabolism? Sep 27 2006

Slowing your metab? I fon't think, for me actually makes me lose weight. Though it can make you feel naseous & bloated. If you have any doubts ever about caffiene products, then buy decaffienated or herb products and you can still have tea. But I doubt it would cause harm.

Theres these small cream cake things from a gas station called Sheetz if you live in the US you've probably heard of it. Theyre chocolate cake with cream in the middle the things are between 530 - 590 whopping calories and 30 - 38 grams of fat, all the oil (fat) gets on your hands with these things and you can probably taste the oil (fat) in it. I don't know, I have binged on it a couple years ago, but I totally black out when I binge & don't realize for a while *curls in a ball* I do know it made me puke after it was done, just cowering in the corner & puke. I first seen them when my aunty had them and she had.... here this, 3 in one day! She isn't a binger or b/p-er, plain overeating & just didn't really look onto it. :S
Another thing are those huge gas station muffins that are 600 calories. Two servings, one is half a muffin but they are still 300 cals a serv, and you know people they eat the whole muffin and usually sugar (calorie) filled coffee with it.
This is from a resturaunt but its the best cal-info I can find through search, tells you what muffins I mean

I love tomato soup, and it's good for you... but the kinds in the can have soo much salt & they make me retain water too, though I usually have to have some sodium to help my blood pressure. I do boullion if I really need it otherwise soup. That stuff has almost 900mg a serv. If you eat it make sure to have lots of water, itll flush the excess out & any water you retain.

Aww I'm sorry, It probably has to do with the worry you still have about your body/weight all the time, it's always there hanging around no matter how good/pretty you feel. Try to concentrate on other things in photos you like if it helps any, your hair, face, makeup, your clothes. . . You have so much more to you.

For me I'm the other way around I'm scared of mirrors. Photos help me better so I'm always taking them. With disposables & with my webcam, I'm a photo-whore.

You think you might be retaining some water-weight recently and you're just letting go of it? If I have that usually that night or when I nap I wake up during to go to the bathroom a few times. But you can hold onto the same water-weight weeks sometimes, in my case. I never hold it if I have to go I go, because I'm scared it might do something to my kidneys & bladder if I hold too long/much.

Weight Loss help me chips are evil!!! Sep 14 2006

Best thing I can suggest is buy single bags of chips and let yourself have that serving. In markets you can get little 25 cent bags &/or boxes with individual bags that way you'll be asure you only eat that serving. Never buy bulk bags unless you plan sharing it with lots of other people. Bulk = bad, eating out of bag and going back for more getting out of control of the situation.

When do you sleep at night hon? Usually if you just have hot tea esp. with lemon stops your stomach from growing and feeling hungry and once it realizes it won't get anything else in there it usually will just shut up and stop hurting on its own. Just like if you've ever had the feeling of going to bed hungry and waking up full. I can't eat after I wake up (night, nap, anything), even drink water because of some reason I feel full, even if I had hunger pain before.
Good luck

Just be careful okay? Maybe up your calories from 1200 so that your body and metabolsim get used to that to be sure of you won't gain or lose if you're trying to maintain now. Do you know how many calories you have normally when you arn't dieting? At least a range is good to know.

lanicita I totally agree with you. That last sentence sounded beautiful. *claps*

I find this insulting. Why discrimnate out on weight at all?

There's a difference between being very underweight and being very underweight because you have an eating disorder, yes. You can even have both issues. I personally have both "issues" actually and it hurts to be mocked on, judged, called names, teased, discrimnated against just as much or more if you were to be picked out of because you are "too big" . . . for being "too thin"

I think that if you think you have an issue with your own weight and body image or have an eating disorder you should not model in the first place because of the expectations that come with that job can make you worse. You have to be confident in yourself whatever your weight or BMI.

Just my two cents . . .
Vegetarian Tofu Preparation Suggestions? Sep 11 2006
00:41 (UTC)
I really like to cut it into strips and then marinade, bake it in the oven and make a sandwich especially in pita bread.

Cut your tofu in strips/slices (I use firm/extra firm) and then squeeze out any excess water. Put on a cookie sheet then you can add any sauce or seasoning you want the flavor to be. Bake them in the oven on 350 - 400 keep checking them until they get done as much as you like. After theyre baked in there I take them put them in pita bread, or on wheat bread/bun with veggies.
It makes a really nice lunch for those of you who have to take something to work, etc.

I have alot more ideas though I can probably try and think of.

Foods I need your expert advice on sodium Aug 29 2006

The only reasons that I'd say you have to watch are if you have edema or high blood pressure, but then as long as you arn't having more than 2gs a day you should be fine. If you have low blood pressure than sodium helps bring it up. It just makes you feel bloated if you don't have enough water to wash the salt out. Just drink more water that day if you are worried. Like if you drink 8 cups, drink 10 or 12. That will wash the excess out, if you're ever holding onto water it sounds dumb but drink lots more water. It's the best cure.

Supersized, lol I just wanted to say actually there is more like a "level 5 vegan" I know one, it's called Fruitarian. Fruitarians eat fruits, seeds, nuts, beans, pulses, oils and some grains that you can pick and do not destroy the plant. It can be healthy if you eat nuts, pulses, seeds and grains that contain protein and stick with lower-sugar content fruit like banana. Banana is a low sugar/water content fruit but high in nutrients. You can also de-sugar lots of fruit that is high in nutrients or contains protein. People who follow this diet usually do, because they don't believe in killing any form of life.

I'm not sure much in vegetables but I think pumpkin, squash (maybe a few others?) are included as long as the plant is not harmed.

I see as next step from strict vegan =]
Weight Loss I know this sounds anorexic, but....... May 27 2006

I was searching around and I came across here

starz I don't know if you are still around anywhere but it sounds to me that you are developing obsession that could lead to an eating disorder, please if you havn't already don't take this path because you cannot get out. You do not want to develop anorexia, I have had an eating disorder since I was 7 and I am almost 19 now, it is living hell.

If you feel you do need to talk to someone who has been through and going through what you might have you can send me a message anytime all you need to do is ask for my email.
