peanut butter - Smart Balance w/omega fats has 200 calories per serving (2 tbl spoons) tons of healthy fat and protein. And it counts as 1-2 servings of Protein in your meat group. (If that is something you watch)

Light Mayo - 1 Tbl a day is good for your heart and hair

Avacado - Full of good fat and calories.

drink a higher low fat milk

Basically any time you can sneak a few calories in do it. If you eat 6 meals a day and add just 100 extra calories you gain an extra 600 a day, which is more than half of what you need to add. And we all know 100 calories is super easy to add in. Right?

You get calories from Fat, Protein and Carbs...so choose foods that are rich in these (not too rich in fat though, and make sure it is the good kind no fried food) and you will be able to add calories to your diet without sacrificing health.

And yes you should eat more. If you increase your calories to a point where you burn off 600-1000 calories a day your body will gladly release the fat, because you manipulate it into thinking you are getting enough food, but you push it just a little to burn off some stored up energy. Think 10,000 years ago, how people ate and what they ate and when they ate. And then realize that our bodies are still made to behave that way...don't eat enough and survival mode kicks in, eat too much and your body stores it so that during famine it has energy. With the right amount of calories lost your body will not store any fat and it will slowly let go of any energy stores it does have.

I hope that helps.

I have to get healthy, and I won't deny it, I want to turn heads in whatever I am wearing. I calorie-count 1200-1500 a day...focusing on a well balanced nutritious diet full of grain and meat and fruits, veggies, dairy. I try to get all my food groups in. Anyways:

SW/CW:223

GW:115

I am looking forward to this...I really need some moral support.
