Craziness around here! Weights have been finally posted from the last weigh-in and I'm still around, I promise!!! : / We got a Wii a few weeks ago and I got the Wii Fit for Mother's Day which I've been hoping for! I've enjoyed doing it some so far. AND it gives me an accurate and consistant scale to weigh on which can be awful, too! :( lol Blah blah blah...I injured my right foot somehow and can't stand on flat, hard surfaces without it hurting.. so that stinks for Wii Fit! Or walking for exercise, either! I'm trying to doctor it up as fast as possible and am thankful that swimming is in the near future as the weather cooperates! And I actually DO pay more attention to how I balance when standing now thanks to that crazy floating fuzzy green spot on Wii Fit :) Man, am I excited and proud of so many of you for some tremendous weightlosses!!! That's SO exciting!!!! I REALLY hope to add to my weightloss and make some great strides over the summer, too!! I'll weigh in tomorrow even though I know it'll be an increase as I'm in the midst of that wonderful time of the month! But I'll be shocked because as usual I pigged out this past week with a bottomless pit for a stomach. It always happens 3-4 days before I start! Anyone else? Welcome Jennifer :) Congratulations on the baby girl!!! Don't push yourself too hard to lose the weight, be careful! Be sure to drink a lot of water whether nursing or not, and sleep as much as possible, even if it's mostly naps of 1-2hrs! And take some vitamins!!! How is the baby doing? Findingme: That's so exciting! 40 lbs is a big loss, and you've done 30 of it 'with us' so we're thrilled for you, too :) You'll start to really show it now every 5-10 lbs worth of loss. It's harder to tell 5-10lb losses when you're over 220 lbs! I've posted up the latest results! Keep on keepin' on girls.. we can be in control of our bodies! And we all need the encouragement to Keep it Off, too. I've read that if you can keep it off 3 years then you're a good chance for keeping it off forever.. as long as you don't crash and eat your way out of a family death or divorce or major job loss or some tragedy that seems to set people back. We all just need to find healthy ways to vent our anger or pain or stress.. okay, maybe it's mostly me I'm talking about!!! :) I've been kicking up a notch the working out.. mostly walking and jogging with some other aerobic typs stuff here and there. Nothing routine, but some activity nearly daily more than the norm of housework and kids. It definately makes me hungrier! I need to find a good balance with that.. Well, I wasn't able to get over and weigh myself in at my parents' so I'll just take my weight from last week: 236 lbs. That's a 5lb loss - finally! I'll tally up everyone tonight or tomorrow... we've lost of ppl so I hope everyone will weigh-in! Have a great day all ~ ~ Steph

Well, I'm hoping for more of a loss today... I lost 5 lbs last week so hopefully I've kept that off and will add more to it! I'm taking the kids out to a park and will stop by my parents' to weigh-in. Their digital is much more accurate and consistant, plus it's always the same as the dreaded Dr's scales :) SO here's hoping! I'm struggling with the calorie counting. I love doing it, and there's a part of it that makes me think Too much about food... but, really, denying myself just whatever I feel like eating makes me think about it constantly, too. I've definately found that if I'm not keeping myself busy or away from the house & computer, then I tend to eat more, even if only in small increments ... but they add up! SO.. with several times going over my cal limit and several days hitting it dead on just below... well, we'll see. ~ Steph |

Just popping in to say have a Wonderful Easter everyone!!! And also that although I considered it a pretty bad week overall with eating and stress and such... I managed to count calories .. (and go over most of the time!)... but I've lost 5 lbs since the April 1st weigh-in. I pray I can keep it off and add more to it!!!!!!! That's from 241 to 236. ~ Steph |

Well, we'll see if it sticks and so do I, but I've been counting calories with somewhat more activity and I've lost 5 lbs since last week. I hope to keep it off and add more to it by the next weigh-in! And we're at 200 posts now! WOW!!!

LOL on the weighing trick. I do tend to step on and off 5-6 times until I see something I like, lol. But I keep mine in a hall so there's nothing to really hold on to. My parents' scale is usually in line with the Dr's whose I always of course loathe and protest! :D But at least I know what I'm more likely weighing in at... and in the end it's only a few lbs difference. It's the change that matters! |

Well, I did some yard work today that burned off calories for sure so that's good. My eating still isn't, though! For dinner I just at (after 8:30pm no less!) 2 plates of spaghetti w/ meat sauce. Probably about 3 packed cups worth. That's nuts! LOL The only good part is that it was wheat pasta and ground turkey w/ just regular jar sauce. But with "quality" there also has to be QUANTITY!!!. or lack thereof. *sigh* Come on, Stephanie!!! Just griping again.. sorry! I enjoy reading up on everyone :) And I think it's hilarious that you won't say panties, lol. I do most often say "underwear" but panties is dainty and girly, too! I have an issue with the word "woman"!! Go figure! I prefer "lady". LOL But of course I say both. anywayy.. maybe I need to see a psychiatrist AND a nutritionist AND have a personal trainer who's willing to knock on my door and drag me out! :D ~ Steph |

What a crazy vacation for you! I'm so struggling right now with food. It's really ridiculous and I'm disgusted with my behavior. *sigh* At least it still bothers me and I'm not completely nonchalant about it all, but still. I keep doing little things that help me stay motivated like my pictures, clothing size, knowing and trying keep stocked up on healthy choices for snacking. I need the Lord's help in this! I'm praying for it!!! I need willpower and I would say I'm determined but that sounds too promising right now (lol) so I'll say I'm hopeful that I could be a certain size by next winter. So I'm buying a few cute things in that size on winter clearance racks. I'm worried to take out my shorts I was able to sqquueeazze into last summer, lol. I'll wait a few more weeks probably! Happy Spring everyone!!!!! :) And we're coming in at 1000 posts soon!!! |

Wow, on the BL guys random meeting! How fun, lol! Dan looks a little thinner but Dave doesn't really look much less now. I hope he hasn't given it up!! They only have like, what 8 weeks until the Finale? That would feel awful to go there and still be significantly overweight. Of course, so many this season were Really big people starting out so I'm not sure if many can even get down to their ideal weights like in past seasons. We'll see! At least they don't look like they've gained any!!! You're in Fuquay? Is that on the coast? Just curious! :) ~ Steph |

WOBBLY - Lol, I wasn't planning on selling it but I suppose if I had too much extra I could! I have 2 more days of rain here and then I can start prepping my vegetable and flower gardens in their new raised beds :) Our Labs cannot get to them because we have an invisible fence, but they can walk within 15 ft of where they'll be so hopefully that'll deter rabbits at least. I might be able to deter birds with nets if need be, too. I get to seed my watermelon and canteloupe in 4 weeks and sow my peas this week as soon as the garden is set up (the peas are actually my 10yo son's own vegetable he chose and wants to tend to). I doubt I'll have much leftovers but if I do and family or neighbors can't eat them, I'll probably donate them to a food shelter nearby. They don't generally take fresh produce, but if I prepped it by dicing it up or something they might. Hmm... have to ask about that. SO... weight-loss. I'm looking for motivation along with good health again.. well, I finally uploaded my pictures from our Zoo trip! That did it! LOL I don't want to feel like I belong in the Hippo area yet I don't look much different, lol. SO, I think that'll do the trick: Pictures of myself beside my children so I can see the difference. I shouldn't be twice the size of my 9yo & 10yo sons! At this point I'm only about 6" taller than them so I need to get on the ball! :) Pictures are Reality which is motivation for me. ~ Steph |

Gardening: ... Yes, I'm trying my hand at it this year. I'm going to try bell peppers (green, yellow, and red varieties), sweet peas, watermelon, canteloupe, okra, & tomatos. I've started my bell peppers in 2 'batches'. One is 3 weeks old and growing cutely :) And the 2nd batch I started today. The rest all has to wait another month or two before I can start them or plant them right in the ground. I'm doing it for the taste and organic care but also definately for the price and quantity! I feed 8 people regularly (we have 6 children) plus I have inlaws visiting for a few weeks in July-Aug and my family lives nearby and will love some fresh veggies! We'll see if they do well, lol. I sure hope so!!! I'm going to do my best. And that'll be good fresh air and sunshine and a little exercise - at least the initial planting and such. I have to make my own raised beds because the earth is too hard and has few minerals in it, plus it'll help with weeds, too!. Let's just hope rabbits and birds don't try to get it all! I'm hoping that getting well again after all the sickness in my family will help to motivate me because I'm having an awful, somewhat nonchalant attitude. I just eat what I want as if it's not affecting me. It's sad! And starting to anger me, too, so maybe I'll be able to kick myself back into gear! lol I worked hard to get here, albeit slowly, and I worked hard to lose an additional 12 lbs off and then gained it back over Fall & Winter. It makes me mad after all the willpower and counting calories and emotional hurdles to just let myself give in to temptation, ignore other stress relievers besides eating, and eat more than I should. It makes me concerned about if/when I'll be able to get down to a normal weight of whether or not I'll be able to maintain. Something to be thinking over... I think I'm going to actually stop being in this group so that I'm not feeling the weekly pressure. I'm part of two longer term groups and I think I'll just stay with them for now. I hope I don't offend anyone! Thanks for the headache advice. I actually did know that and have tried it but it didn't help any for this time. It was sinus infection pressure. After 3 days of the pressure I started getting feverish last night and broke down and started taking some leftover antibiotics last night. I have only about 4 days' worth but I'm hoping that it will help my body get a hold on it and I can flush it out with water and it won't come roaring back being a sinus infection only. We'll see! And, yeah, I am prone to watching a Baby Story and such when pregnant, too! Sometimes it was like a Craving! lol 1-2 pregnancies I didn't want to see it all, though, a total aversion, lol. And I do like the Biggest Loser. It's funny, though, I'm usually watching it while eating something awful like chips & dip or candy bars or a pint of Ben & Jerry's, LOL. And that's almost the only time I watch tv at night and eat at the same time!!! lol I'm not a TV snacker, funnily enough! Have a good weekend all! ~ Steph |

I'm battling a headache that I can't shake and it's been 3 days now :( I've never had a headache for so long! Makes me really feel bad for those with migraines! I think mine is just connected to this cold I have... hopefully I'll heal up soon! I'm proud of you for losing weight and getting healthier! I've had a rough time of getting and staying on track this time around! I need to progress!!

I'm fluctuating between 233 and 236 because I like Oreos and 3rd helpings and diet soda and other junk too much :) That'll do it! Hi... I've been sick and nursing back to health my six children, too! Plus hubby's been gone most nights and the whole of a weekend.. just crazy. No real reason not to weigh-in! Sorry!!! My March 1st weight was 234.5 (that's a 1.5 gain! :S) Unless I pick up some energy and get serious about my health it won't change much again in 3 weeks! |

Yeah, I can see a difference. The picture are closer to you in the before pictures so it throws the perception off a little. But I can see change in your back/neck and cheeks (the face ones! lol). If you did a bathing suit shot you'd tell better, but you're likely not comfortable showing that to the world, lol. I won't be even if I'm in shape! I'm a very modest person :) I don't like attention drawn to my appearance! |

Hello all ~ Reading up on posts here.. I know that the Biggest Loser contestants eat between 1200-1500 generally. And they're working out like crazy! They also drink tons of water, of course. But they also rotate and add 400-500 cal every 4 days or so to break up any cycles your body tries to get into. If you're counting calories, that seems to be the way to go. But, everyone has different needs. But definately to lose fat, retain and build muscle, and to have energy you have to eat a minimum of 1200 cal for women and 1400-1500 for men. I started logging my food yesterday, but not counting calories. I'm trying to focus more on portions and generally healthy foods, but also just to know what I'm eating and drinking that has calories. I'm not keeping a count of the calories at this time, though. However, I had such a crazy month during February and am thankful to God for bringing us through it in once piece! I definately overate or didn't eat well a lot of the time, got up to 236 a week ago, and so I haven't gone under my 233 Feb 1st weight. Right now I'm 234.5. I'm hoping to bring it down to at least 233 again by Sunday's March 1st weigh-in! I think I can do it, but if not at least I'm working on repairing all the damage and lost time I had during February and not adding to it. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's progress and hearing about the struggles so I know I'm not alone!! :)

I see that no one weighed on Monday, including me! I knew it would be higher than I wanted and I'm a big chicken about it all, lol. But I weigh last night and I'm 234.5. It was 236 so at least I'm coming down some but I hope to be 233 by Sunday, March 1st! I have a weigh in somewhere else and that would at least put me back at what I was Feb 1st!! Isn't that awful! I'm the same I was a month ago! But at least I'm not a lot more... I'm feeling bad and frumpy and just too chunky to breathe and move so that's great motivation for me. If only the weather would cooperate I could get back out and walk with my little girls! I love doing that :) Hope to hear from someone else soon! Don't let the challenge die out! |

I find the same thing true. I really want to have some warm foods throughout the day at least during winter. I just had about a cup of black beans heated up (just canned). I added a few saltine crackers just because I wanted to! Now that I'm filled up with that I think I'll have an apple. It's more appealing now! :) I've been awful and have slipped back but I'm trying to at least get back to my previous weight this year of 233 by Sunday being March 1st and a weigh in for another monthly challenge.. I was 234.5 last night. Be glad you're not there!!! lol |

Hello and welcome Jett :) I've had a crazy 2 weeks and I'm hoping to get things under control with all of my family's health and just eat well amidst all the stress! That's a big factor with me: stress eating! I'm off to the Dr for my baby daughter's appt to see if she has Strep throat. Poor thing seems miserable so I hope maybe something can come of it! I'm just thankful that we have Drs to help us compared to so many other around the world! We are blessed! Have a nice weekend all - Spring weather is coming and it's always easier to get out and burn energy when it's beautiful outside. Plus, the time change in 2 weeks will help with more time in the evening to do yardwork and go walking after dinner! :) God bless all and I hope to see at least a maintenance, if not a loss on Monday for me! Hello girls~ We're actually missing a lot of people's weigh-ins this week. I added those that got in late last week and I'll do the same this week. I have no problem with later updates but I might not always get them posted until the weigh-in days! I'm up to 236 from 233. I've fluctuated over the past 2 weeks but that's what it was Wed night! Mostly just from overeating, eating poor choices, my cycle bloating, and less exercise than I need! That'll add 3 lbs! :( bad, bad, bad me Diane.. I'm really sorry about the possible diagnosis but I'm glad that you have family to help support you and good doctors that can help as best they can. Please keep in touch here so we'll know how you're doing. And if you want me to post your weight then I sure will! :) I hope the weightloss is a fat loss and not muscle from the inactivity. My sister-in-law has Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and since the dx she's lost a ton of muscle weight but that's part of the sclerosis. If you can't move very much, you sure can't exercise! And she tries really hard with all kinds of neat exercises. My brother even took apart an exercise bicycle.. the kind where it creates a fan when you peddle. He made it so she can sit up and use it with her hands to increase the elasticity and keep her cool at the same time :) That's just a drop in the ocean of what he's done for his wife. Support means everything and I'm glad you have it!! I'll be praying for you and would love to have updates here as often as you like as I'm sure everyone else would, too! I'll be posting the results that I have soon. I hope some don't start dropping out! But if we don't hear from them after say, a month, then I guess I'll take them off the list. Well I'm glad you made it to the Dr's office and have a better clue on what's going on and your levels of everything. :) Sorry about the ttc situation but it's not forever, either. I've done badly with eating, but have also been sick and dealing with everyone being sick, too! I have been getting in some exercise with yard work and a weekend vacation and such. But I'm pretty bloated and puffy so it'll probably equal out or make me gain on Thurs. We'll see! Maybe I'll down tons of water and fast until then! Hello all ~ We've been traveling, sick, and now Valentine's weekend. Plus I'm bloated now so I'm not weighing in this week :) lol There's no point to do so! It'll definately be a gain and I don't need to see that right now!!! Hopefully I'll start to feel better and eat better, too :) I have gotten some exercise in with doing several hours of raking and shoveling plus hours of walking, too, so at least that was good!
