If I am really hungry and need to snack I reach for dry roasted edamame, lightly salted.  It is very filling and full of fiber and protein.  I can't usually eat more than 2 tbsp at once, which is about 65 calories!

When I have cottage cheese (about 4 times a week) I like to mix in one or two tbsp sunflower seeds.  They add a savory crunch and give the cottage cheese a certain richness.

Add a piece of fruit to either of  these snacks and you're good till dinner time

Hi!  It's nice to play with kids my own age!  I'm 53 and a half.  I love being older.  Once I turned 50 I decided I don't have to look good.  I just have to look good for my age!  I've been coming to CCP for only a couple of weeks now but I'm really hooked on the nutritional analysis.  My goal is to drop 20 to be healthy and I'm using that low glycemic index diet (Dr's orders).  Is anyone else out there trying this method?

My most recent Fitness magazine had a recipe for Avocado Enchiladas which sounded amazing.  I love avocados so I was really looking forward to these.  I spent 3 hours preparing and assembling all the ingredients.  The recipe said it would only take 20 minutes!  They turned out okay but that much avocado really was too much.  The recipe is for 10 servings and I'm the only one who likes them.   I'll be eating these for a long time but making them never again.

I, too, have a hard time resisting jumping on the scales every day, so here's what I do.  I keep my scales under my nightstand where I have to actually move furniture away from the bed in order to pull them out and look at them.  This entails removing the lamp, a tall vase and all other electronics.  A real pain!  I'm down to weighing myself about twice a week, which is good for me.
