OK, so I guess I've killed this forum.  Sorry ladies.

How's everyone doing?  I got suckered into a scam that I'm now dealing with my credit card company over.  They're pretty good about it though.  Don't buy Acai pills online!  It's a scam!  I don't know what came over me!  I can't believe I fell for it!

Anyway, I've been getting workouts in lately, three this week already.  How 'bout you guys?

Everyone drinking their water?  Taking your vitamins?

Hello again, it's long lost me...I've been sidetracked from here.  Going to Chicago (training for church) too for the next few days so thought I'd write a quick note.

Welcome newtck!

When I need motivation, I come on this site and peek around, mostly looking for pictures of success stories and that motivates me.  I even went on Biggest Loser's site one time and that motivated me as well.  I'm a visual learner though so it may not work the same for everyone.

Update on my progress:

I'm on my last day of Phase 1 of South Beach Diet, which I found on this site as well.  I have done well, only had one small slip the day before I got my period I needed chocolate!  So I had a medium sized bowl of ice cream with chocolate.  Didn't work like I wanted it to though.  I went around tasting one bite out of cookies I had in the house for my kids and anything else I could find with any smidge of chocolate and it really didn't satisfy.  What's up with that!

Well, my dear ladies.  You all keep plugging away.  Get a picture of your future self up on your fridge for motivation!  Post a sticky note on your bathroom mirror of the reasons why you want to eat healthy today.

Love you all!

Well, it's been a few days on South Beach Diet.  I don't think I've lost any weight.  I've been eating a lot of eggs.  It says you can have unlimited.  I haven't been that hungry, so that's good I guess.

I went to the store last night and was really eyeing up the fruits!  I am missing them!  I got jello cups and italian ice w/splenda instead though.  I also got Crystal light to drink at night when I want sweets. I remember that being a life saver last time.

Good job angie!  Try to make sure you have at least one picture of your whole body now, so you can track visible results as you lose weight.  Remember, you'll get to post it next to your new "you" when you lose all that weight! Wink

I am the same way.  Please keep it up though!  You are doing such a great job!

IDEA:  Look at others' pictures of success on this website or go to The Biggest Loser website and look there.  It is motivational, and it will be you someday very soon!  But you have to keep it up!

Don't give up!  You're doing all the right things.  It might just be your time of the month right now and that may be causing some water weight, or maybe you've had more salt lately.

It'll come off...it will.

1. computer enhanced picture of my goal body with my face on it posted on the fridge placed beside current picture of myself

2. grocery shopping once per week only buying foods allowed (with extra healthy snacks), and no tempting foods in the house at all

3. a T-graph, which is a list of results of being my ideal weight/size, good listed on one side and bad listed on the other-posted in a visible place (bathroom mirror?)

4. online support of CC!

Now, if only I'd take my own advice and keep to it!

Well, I hope these are motivating others as they are motivating me!

You people are all beautiful.  To think I might be able to ever fit into a size that's not double digits!  That is motivating!

Anyone else?  I think this is good for the souls of both those who post the pictures and those who can observe.

It is a pat on the back for you who have come so far and have lost the weight, and it encourages us who still have so far to go.

Keep 'em comin' people!

I am starting Phase One of South Beach Diet today.  I also just got suckered into a "free" sample of acai online.  I just paid $3.95 for shipping.

I'm trying to work myself up here to go work out at my gym/club (whatever you call it).

Here is the link to the forum for South Beach Diet:  http://caloriecount.about.com/welcome-south-b each-diet-thread-good-ft72210

I know nothing about this Acai thing.  Anyone else?  I'm such a sucker!

This is how I got suckered in to buying it:  http://www.consumerselected.com/index.php?t20 2id=613&t202kw=

I think just the mere action of taking the time to write down what is eaten in a day makes a huge difference.  If I have to write down every, single thing I put in my mouth, I think twice about what I put in it next.

This sounds psychological to me, and I can relate.  I have done the same exact thing.  There may be issues that need to be dealt with in your mind/heart, before you maintain a certain size.

I don't know if this is what you mean, but for me, when I started losing weight (I've gained it all back) and really seeing results, it was very hard for me psychologically.

There were issues I had to deal with in regards to my self image.  I was afraid of being seen as only an object, that I would all of a sudden cheat on my husband, that nobody would like me if I got thin, etc.

This may or may not be the boat you're in, but another reader that may happen to look here might.

If this is the case for anyone, I would suggest journaling out your thoughts on a T graph.  Separate all the reasons you want to look/be a certain weight/size into good/healthy and bad/unhealthy reasons.

Take the unhealthy side and really work through it, really think through why you think/feel that way.  Struggle with it, wrestle with it, let it come full circle through your mind until you can honestly say you no longer have that desire at all.

That's my two cents.

Come on people!  I posted my pix on my photo gallery.  Fresh from today.  And I just got back from a 30 min. walk with my hubby.  I even did some sit-ups and stretches when I got back.

Who can squeeze their belly in right now as you type?  You can do it.  You don't even have to get up.  SQUEEZE!

See that wasn't so hard.  Now try holding that squeeze for 10 seconds.  Do as many sets as you can.

GOOD JOB!

Take some before pix like I did and post 'em.  Don't be afraid.  Everyone's gotta start somewhere.  Just do it!!!

I just have to thank you for the good laugh!  I love when people are willing to humble themselves and share openly what's going on!

I can't say I've overcome much of anything yet.  I feel very defeated and hopeless, now with a cold that furthers my exhaustion.  Hypothyroidism tries to claim all hope, and it's hard.

OMgoodness!  Stress sure likes to take over if it gets the chance in our lives, doesn't it!

I am so sorry to hear about your SD, kt.  I hope she adapts quickly and smoothly to her new home (100% of the time).  It sounds like you are a warm enough person that her mother felt comfortable coming herself to bring her.  She can be an extra motivator for you perhaps in your eating habits.  Making sure the family has solid, good nutrition and healthy habits sounds like it definitely wouldn't hurt!

Good for you hanging in there lynn.  You just keep on a'goin.  What an inspiration to all of us.

Welcome leelee!  Good job keeping off the extra weight, and good job looking for further inspiration.

Welcome duct!  1200 calorie diet...brutal.  Wow.  i'm glad to hear your getting smaller according to your clothes!  That's good news!  Those late night snacks..they are a killer.  When I was on Jenny Craig, they taught to make sure I get enough calories during the day, and that helped curb appetite at night.  Instead of eating sugary things, perhaps try lean protein.  It tends to take away a sugar craving.

mj, get your rest, especially now with cold season coming on.  get your vitamins!  I take airborne.  It has echinacea and vitamin C and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Take care CC buds!

lynn:  my heart goes out to you helping so much with your great uncle.

it's all about choices, right?  like, what do i choose to bring with me for a snack, or what do i even go out and pick up to buy to eat, which store/restaurant do i choose that will have the best choices of food for me?

welcome duct!

mj:  wisconsin is definitely not a motivational state for me to live in!  i feel like the weather is always against me.  but lately, i have absolutely no excuse.  it's been warm and perfect outside.

i don't know what my problem is.  i have been taking my walks though pretty regularly.  maybe it's time to step on the scale again.  i'm just so afraid i will become addicted to it again, and beat myself up for the slightest increase in weight, or just get plain obsessed with constantly thinking of calories, weight, exercise, etc. and not paying attention to my family. i don't think i've lost very much lately when i've actually been getting out and walking, and even eating better.

i have hypothyroidism, so that may just be something i have to live with.  it's depressing to think no matter what i do, it doesn't really matter...

hey everyone...how's it goin?  sorry I've been gone.  Been absorbed in economic crap since my husband works in the financial industry and his job is at stake.  breathe in, breathe out...

going for a walk with a friend here in a minute.  waiting for her to get here.  i can't seem to stay very motivated, let alone get motivated to get on a weight loss regimen.  ugh.  Help!!!!

stress in my life is adding up, and I really should be turning to exercise more.  But sleep and exhaustion tries to take me over.  I took a vitamin today, which is helping, but oh do they make me ill.

let me know how everyone is doin...who's from Wisdonsin BTW?  That's where I am!

mj, I'm so sorry about your dog.  I lost mine last spring.  I know how you must feel.  Cry

I've read that after supper/dinner is better than before.  But, either way is good.  Before I would guess it jump starts your metabolism to kick in, and after your metabolism will kick in later is all.  Whichever time you know you can consistently make, and feel most psychologically able to do I would think is best.  That's my 2cents.

Woo hoo for you april!  Seven whole pounds!  Wow!  I am way so jealous.  I could never lose that in a week.  Hypothyroidism would never allow it.  Although this new medication I'm on has given me way more energy and I've actually been exercising consistently over the last month!  Did weights in my living room today on my upper body and went for two whole walks yesterday!!!

You ladies all have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be on here for awhile tonight if anyone wants to chit chat...

Ohh, okay.  That's what HIIT is.  That does sound like a great work out.

Hey people!  Where did everyone go?  Come back!

How's everyone's progress coming along?  Any downhill choices?  I have to admit I'm in that category.  But, it could be worse.  At least I ate the veggies before I ate the other crap that didn't belong in my body...oy.  Constant battle I tell ya.  What d'ya do.

My tips that I personally need to follow today:  Portion control, eat every 3-4 hours, drink lots o'water, fruits & veggies & lean meat.

Hope y'all are havin' a good week so far.

I think you're right on track 1aprilfool with taking a break.  That's a pretty rigorous regimen you've been on.

It is very frustrating when no weight comes off and we keep exercising.  I know, I've been there. I have hypothyroidism and it makes it even worse.

It's also the change of seasons, so that tends to bring everyone down to a lower energy level I think too.

Take your break, get a breather, reassess your goals and regimen if you feel that would be helpful, and then feel good that you are still motivated.

You're doing great!  Our bodies are excellent, extremely efficient machines that can sense when we stay too much the same.  Perhaps your body is adjusting to the same routine.  Have you been on the same workout routine for more than a week?  If the same muscles are worked and there's no "struggle" or pushing to the next level, our bodies plateau.  It's a constant challenge to keep the body pushed to the next level when we get into rigorous, continuous routines.  Assess that part of your exercise and see if changing up some part of that helps (i.e. add 1-5 lbs. to rep sets, if on a treadmill running-add more speed or time).

Hope that helps.  I'm with ya girlfriend!  I'm so proud of you for being conscious of your body though.  You're doing a really good job.  Don't get so down on yourself hon.Wink
