Wow, thats alot of protien - i applaud you - thats not easy! I try for 50% carbs 25% fat and 25% protien, higher on my harder workout days. but i am a runner, not a lifter http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.as p?articlekey=50900 |

kudos to the thomas english muffins - but i like the fluffier ones - oatmeal and honey + jif peanut butter&honey + honey!! that is my favorite comfort food. I just dont smother it in peanut butter - 1/2 a T per half of the english muffin :) |

| Weight Loss | So I'm gaining some much-needed weight. Alright, fair enough. But why? help? | Apr 09 2008 19:58 (UTC) |

I have gone through the same thing as well - ive gained about 9 lbs since the beginning of february, but on a relatively regular basis. I have been a runner my whole life so i know the importance of what kind of portions are needed in a diet. Don't listen to anyone who says you should have less than 50% of your calories from carbs - they should just be good carbs like multi-grain bread, potatos, rice, vegetables and pasta. Ideally for a runner the percentages should be 60% carbs 20% protien and 20% fat. Carbs only make you tired if they are quick burning like processed foods. The only reason you would want 40% protien is if youre a hardcore weights person. 100 grams of protien is great - have any suggestions about getting that much? |

| Weight Loss | Officially, in CC-speak, what is a "BINGE"? | Feb 01 2008 05:39 (UTC) |

ok...so i have been trying to gain weight for awhile now * i was anorexic and just have trouble keeping the weight on while running track in college * and I eat most of my calories at night. Like i will be at 600 cals before dinner....1200 after dinner. then I am just a night muncher or somethign i dont' know.... I'll eat again at like 9, 11, and midnight. Just things like a bowl of oatmeal, a little ice cream, and then hot chocolate before bed. Is this considered binging? I know this is a bad thing if you are trying to lose/maintain, but it can't really be bad if I'm trying to gain right? I am just worried this will grow into a habit once I have reached my optimum weight and I'll just keep eating a bunch at night. |

Ok, so I've had to gain weight too - Boost is NASTY. If you like milkshakes get this powder stuff to mix in with your milk (no ice cream). It is called Scandi-Shake and it tastes amazing! Vanilla Chocolate & Strawberry mmm... |

Soccer, there is no way you can gain weight at that pace. Trust me, I've been there. I needed to gain 1.5 lbs a week last summer running cross country. That was about 90 minutes of excersize a day. I was 5' 4'' and needing to gain 10 lbs before the end of the season. Some days were 2200, some days were 3500. At 2000 cal a day with that much exertion you will still be losing! just from someone who's been there |
