If its still hot out, what I do is take a cup of raw oats, a cup of milk/soy/rice/water whathaveyou, mix together in a bowl and stick it in the fridge the night before with a good amount of cinnamon on top. In the morning it is all absorbed and very refreshing. Raisins and flax seed meal also work well...i'm not one for sweet oatmeal anymore! |

I also have problems with my tummy flab, im thin....except there, and I think everything I eat goes straight to my tummy. I concur with the beer and white bread suggestions, I've also decided to cut out anything that comes in a package (including crackers, sandwich breads, breadsticks, candy, cookies) Even if they're "organic" its always better to go with fresh stuff. My friend says running keeps her midsection lean, which you do see with distance runners. Careful with abs though, they will create more muscle which will increase size of your tummy....in a good way, but it builds up under the flab, if anything it just makes you much stronger, more muscle burns more calories, no? |

I know its not anaerobic, but enough to keep some sort of a base. My competitive days are over, no ironmans for me, or division I rowing....but to keep a healthy base. Im a team person, i need a team to motivate me to work hard, otherwise I can just keep telling myself that I don't feel like it. I eat really well here in Italy, so as long as I'm active, I won't worry! |

im off sugar too!!! and im ONLY doing fruit. if ive got a sugar craving, i go for tea, carrots or abate pears. fruit and veg all have sugars, and if you're not eating the processed stuff you might be able to avoid the mood swings by supplementing the lack by munching on apples and such |
