I don't understand myself, I stopped at TJ and got some stuff Wednesday. I got a dark chocolate candy bar 520 calories and I ate the whole thing. Then i went 3 places with food and hardly ate much at all. Christmas i did really well. Then today on the way home I got another one of those and ate the whole thing. Crazy! Anyone know a good quality dark chocolate that comes in individual portions, like an oz? I am really striking out with chocolate, but i know it is good for me and its my only real treat.

Merry Christmas everybody! I know what I want something I can't have. My parents. They have both passed away and tho I miss them everyday, I especially miss them during the holidays. So I started volunteering to help older people, its not the same, but it feels good. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and try not to eat the whooooole thing! |

| Foods | IF your on a healthy diet. What food do you miss eating? xD | Dec 12 2008 16:30 (UTC) |

I agree with you thermal, I miss going out to eat the most. In most cases even when you eat the best offerings the restaurants have you are still having too much fat, salt and white foods. I only eat 100% whole wheat and the restaurants are not really there yet. Sometimes now, I eat at home and join friends for coffee or ice tea when they eat out. The two things I miss most are pizza and Mexican food. |

Wow, some great goals met and some super determination found, I am impressed. The first part of the year was a bust, then i woke up and realized I am going to be 60 next year. I have been overweight and under exercise for so many years, I can't go back that far and remember. In July, along with some other important changes I decided to eat right, watch my portions and get off my butt. I have lost 32lbs, but I still have a long way to go. I definitely feel better, a step in the right direction. My goal for 2009, is to really work on my exercise program, step it up, work harder but most importantly be consistent 5-6 days per week NO MATTER WHAT! Continued good success to you all and Happy Holidays! |

I am also "recovering Catholic" also, I have always known about ST. Nicks Day for the Europeans, but never for the US. Of course, I grew up in CA, so what do I know. I also had to go to Catholicism, I was in trouble there a lot. We also had to go to C.Y.O(Catholic Youth Organization) |

I just wanted to mentioned that coffee has wonderful antioxidents and when consumed in moderation is good for you. I just drink it with 1% milk, milk is also good for you as long as its nonfat, 1% or if you must 2%. I know I have tried it black and its just too black. It is not a substitute for real food in the morning, you need to fire up your engine! |

I live on a strict food budget on purpose and bars are just too pricey for me. i have found some of them taste chalky to me. I will try some of your favorites, I like the idea of having a good emergency food. My problem is if there too good, I am in trouble. |

Good Lord, run don't walk. Just because he is not supposed have a weapon, does that really matter? Actually, I might be at the police station telling them what he threatened to do. I am not passing judgment, but do you know what he was in jail for? The letter is not a good idea at all and he will just put the blame on you anyway. Do we know what he do, no we don't |

| Foods | oatmeal every morning?? | Dec 07 2008 03:20 (UTC) |
25 |
I could be wrong, but it seems to me in my reading that instant oatmeal doesn't have the fiber that regular oats do. Personally I love oatmeal, but I also found a 6 grain with variety of stuff including oatmeal that has even more fiber. I eat one or the other everyday with flax and 1% milk...so good, so good for me!

I have been there too a long time ago, but I remember the pain of being in an abusive relationship but I also remember the pain when I broke up with him. It's not easy to do and every part of us suffers including your appetite. Just treat you self with kindness and love. One way is eating right though you don't feel like it. I know you doubt it now, someday you will be doing the "happy dance" over this. So love yourself up and keep reaching out when you need a helping hand.

It snowed once in San Diego in 1967 for about an hour. We were at school in shorts and sandals, they stopped class. I would like a little more different weather in my life, nothing too drastic I am a weather weenie. We can go about 2 hours up to the mountains for occasional snow, I don't have the right kinds clothes for it. Same year around wardrobe. We could use more Autumn too. Sorry about the stuck in snow thing that would be the worst.

I agree with most of the above, I think that our goal should be to change to healthy eating and portion control + exercise daily or close to it + water. I think that most of are stuck in that old diet thinking. Fast fast fast and then put it back on and start again. I have been stuck for several weeks and i understand being discouraged, I weigh more than you do. I just know that sticking with a healthy program will be good for all around health and each day week month, I will be on the right road to a better and yes, better looking me. As far as the pooping info, thanks robertnoel, I think...LOL Frozendmr hang in there with us, we need you and you will get support from us! |

Original Post by spirochete: Spirochete, you love my word...snarky, let's put it on the person who actually said...me! You don't know how discouraging your posts were a while back. Let's face it you had to start somewhere too and hopefully people weren't as rude. People come on this site looking for guidance and some encouragement. Maybe a pink dumbbell is all they can handle. If they are wasting there time let them. Unless you are in charge of everyone at the gym or wherever. I think you blamed someone else for using my little word and I have broad but weak shoulders, I can handle it! |

I saw my first Hanukkah house the other day and it was beautiful. All done in blue white and gold. The stars of David were done in white hanging strands of lights with blue Stars. It was awesome. I don't mind the decorations, regardless of the color but I don't like the inflatables either. Also when the stuff gets old and mangy, throw it away would ya?! |

I pick up my cat and hug her and kiss her. She doesn't like it much but it feels great. Her new wrinkle, considering she's not a lap cat is to sit on my lap when I'm on the computer. Good old Reita, she loves me no matter what! |

I am crazy about really dark chocolate and I quit buying it. I say its for my health and then eat the whole 600-800 in the car while driving home from the store. Twinkie 10 packs- the food that never dies in the landfill-(I quit buying those) Taquitos with sour cream, oh I miss them, but once a month I splurge.

I have never been a binge eater exactly, but this week was terrible for me. I know things were bothering me and I did reach to smart people who know me, but I just couldn't digest their help. i know at the holidays, I really miss my parents, I don't care how old you get not having them hurts. I have no children and I guess around this time you wonder if you made a mistake not having them. So for days, i have gone without exercise and ate and ate. Fortunately is was good for me food, since I don't keep other stuff in the house. But way too many walnuts, is still not too good. Every time, I go on a diet or in this case I choose to eat right and use portion control, I get to 4 months and start to back slide, I don't know what this is all about. I will take some of the good ideas I saw and if anyone has more please let me know, sorry not meaning to hijack your thread but you helped me by writing it. |

I believe in a higher power, but I don't do well with organized religions. There is a lot of judgement in religions that come from men and they pass it off as God's words. I like the words less and the deeds more. talk is cheap even in religion. I grew up in the Catholic church and yes I am recovering Catholic. I can remember all the piety inside the church and all the nastiness trying to be first out the parking lot. I often find my higher power in people and in a crowd. That's what I think and to me God, is people the blue sky, a beautiful day and love. |

I think it is a bit much, however, we used to have a poodle and he loved to go to the groomer. When there were finished with him, he thought he was just beautiful. He liked to really strut his stuff! So who knows what the dog is really thinking. I would just think it was too long of a grooming session perhaps, unless the did it piece meal. |
