| Foods | In dire need of new foods! please :) | Nov 07 2008 02:10 (UTC) |

I have the same exact problem. I eat pretty much the same thing every day. In the morning I eat my usual bowl of whole wheat bran flakes or honey bunches of oats, for lunch I have a lean pocket with some crackers or fig newtons, for dinner I usually eat egg beaters with whole wheat toast and a glass of skim milk. The snacks I eat are the only thing that changes. It doesn't help that I'm super picky, so I really don't like much of anything besides the things I already eat. However, if you're not that picky, I would go along with oxymoron00, and suggest getting a cookbook, or looking up recipes online. good luck =] |

I absolutely LOVE lean pockets. I'm not sure that they're the best choice for you, but they're so convenient. I go to college, and on Monday's and Wednesday's I'm there for 3 classes with an hour break in between the two. I always pack my lunch because the food there is kinda pricey. I always bring a lean pocket and a little pack of crackers or fig newtons. They're yummy and filling, so I'd say, Eat up!! |

| Young Calorie Counters | getting on birth control... | Nov 02 2008 00:51 (UTC) |

Actually, it's been clinically proven that birth control doesn't affect your weight at all. I was on it for about a year, and actually lost weight, but that's probably because I was dieting. However, my friend was on it for a few months and gained about 5 pounds, which was probably because she had a poor diet, consisting of fast food a few times every week. If your boobs get bigger while on it, don't blame it on the birth control, blame it on your body showing signs of becoming a woman. ** My friend and I were on the same brand, it was orthotricylene lo** |

And also, I hear many people say, "well I'm just one person, my vote's not going to matter...". When you get 1,000,000 or so people across the U.S. thinking that, then voting makes a BIG difference. If only people realized... |

I feel the exact same way, Christine. Every single post I've made, I've received mostly all negative feedback. It's called 'trolling'. It's where people purposely instigate you and push your buttons, so you'll post back, saying something that will get your post banned. People think it's fun to do, for some reason. All you have to do is ignore them, because if you let them get to you, then you're letting them win. They want you to get mad, it's the point. *p.s. some trolls that I've had on my posts, were alibsam and pgeorgian, so feel free to ignore anything they have to say* |

I also thought this was going to be about sex! hehehe.... I've actually started out with a diet, similar to this one. I started in the beginning of September, and have kept it up until now, with no real difficulties. Yes, I've had big temptations, but it's managable. The only difference between ours, is the baked goods. I still eat bread (whole-wheat only, changed from eating white bread daily). Good luck with everything!! |

| Maintaining | My belly still looks and feels like a raw pizza dough | Oct 31 2008 01:34 (UTC) |

When losing weight, maybe you made the mistake of just dieting, and not exercising. If you only diet and restrict calories, you'll lose weight, but become 'skinny fat'. It's true that you cannot spot burn fat, but it wouldn't hurt to do some exercising. Also, like tennislove98 said, maybe you just have a body image issue. When I weighed my lowest ever, 125, I seriously thought I was a whale. Now, I look back at pictures, and would KILL to look like that. It made me realize, that no matter how much weight I lost, or how skinny I could become, I may never actually be happy with my body. I would second their advice, and reccomend seeing a friend, and having them honestly tell you if they think you're 'pizza doughy'. |

I'm the exact same way. I don't really eat meat much, but when my dad grills kilbasi sausage on the grill... i'll only take it black. I also like my toast burnt as well. I thought I was the only one, but we're not alone... or maybe we're both odd... who knows? |

I work in a pharmacy as a clerk. I'm always bending down and getting prescriptions and bagging items, and walking around facing and stocking the store, and also at the end of the night I clean everything. If you type in 'standing' as an activity, click on 'light standing'. A clerk is classified in the description. If I work 6 hours, then I just type in 360 minutes. Surprisingly, it burns a lot of calories! |

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! Starting in the beginning of september, I changed my eating and started doing some light exercising, and have lost 10 pounds so far. When I start getting more hours at work, I'm gonna get a membership to the local YMCA and start working out there. Maybe I'll get to 130 someday =] |

If you continue to lose with little to no effort, I would recommend going to see your doctor. The same thing happened to my sister. She wasn't really trying to lose weight, but she lost a good ten pounds within a month and blamed it on the stress of graduating and finding a job. For the next 3 months after that, she lost about 30 more pounds. She went to see a doctor, and they found out she had gastrointestinal problems, which made her lose that significant amount of weight. So, if you continue to lose weight (without trying) then go see a doctor. Good luck with everything =] |

| Young Calorie Counters | Trick-or-treating! | Oct 21 2008 00:26 (UTC) |

I seriously thought about the same thing a few days ago. I ALWAYS go trick-or-treating. I haven't missed a single year. Since this if my first year on a diet, I thought about what I'm gonna do with all that candy. I've made the decision to still celebrate Halloween, but I'm going to hand out candy instead. The little kids in the neighborhood would get much better use out of all those high calorie, fat-filled treats anyway. In your case, you probably don't want to ditch your friends. I'd say walk around with your friends from house to house, but don't carry a bag with you. That way, you'll get exercise from all the walking and you'll still have fun with your friends along the way.

the same thing happened to me over the summer. I decided I wasn't going to eat for a day in a desperate attempt to lose weight by becomming anorexic. I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to eat anyway because I was having severe hunger pangs. As I walked into the kitchen, I remember feeling really dizzy and lightheaded, and then BAM, I was on the floor. My dad heard the bang, and came out and helped me up. I told him I was fine. Since that night, I have felt the same feeling twice, but ate a candy bar and it went away. I concluded it was my low blood sugar level, since eating sugar got rid of it, and diabetes runs in my family, too. I would suggest going to the doctor and getting a blood test done. |

I believe, that I'm a junk food fanatic as well. I noticed that, if there was junk food in the cupboards, I was going to eat it. I told my dad to completely stop buying junk food, which has helped tremendously. Also, I found that I always ate and ate and ate when I was bored and had nothing to do. So now, I always try to keep myself busy. Maybe u should take up a hobby? When I'm bored, I usually knit, work out, organize my room, read, do some homework, do laundry, or hang out with my friend or boyfriend. You can even do something helpful, and get on the calorie count forums and lend some advice. If you're the kind of person that always needs to have something to chew on, try chewing sugarless gum. Also, you could be mistaking your hunger for thirst. It happens quite frequently. Drink some water or whatever beverage you prefer and see if that doesn't fill u up! I hope this helps!! |
