Happy Monday Ladies!! I am back on track today. Feeling great. The weather has been so nice the last couple days and has left me a little sick with happiness. I made it through another Arizona summer:) Hope all is well with everyone. icegenesis-I think my elliptical was around $200. It is not the best-it actually kicks my bootie. It is a magnetic and harder than typical elliptical. The bright side is I think it burns more calories than the elliptical at the gym. penny-vacations are always a great motivated. Especially if you will be spending time in a swimsuit. If you have a couple weeks it might be a good idea to buy a suit in a size smaller and push it hard to get in it. You know they are all on sale right now since summer is over:) I know you will do it. You are a trooper:) Have a great day! Lindsey

Girls! I feel my motivation coming back. I appreciate your comments. I especially agree how we can't control what happens around us, but we can control how we act. My biggest thing is to not let a mistake derail me. I often tend to blow the rest of the day off instead of living in the moment. For example if I eat a cookie l normally would let it ruin my entire day and I will eat bad the rest of the day. I have to take it hour by hour even minute by minute. I need to live in the present and stop worrying about the bigger picture because it will come. Not overnight, but it will come. I got good news. My sister is going to give me her treadmill. She got it for Xmas and doesn't use it so lucky me. I have some a cheap bike and elliptical from Walmart. They work, but I am bored. Very excited to walk on a fancy treadmill. Also I don't think I have gained all my weight back. Just a couple pounds. See I am thinking positive already. Thank you again PENNY & JODI. I hope I can be here for you when you need it. Jodi I love the sound of sweeping leaves. You must be somewhere there is an actual Fall:)
XOXO Lindsey

Jodi & Penny Thank you so much for your comments of encouragement. They are GREATLY appreciated. The last few days I have felt sick (not a cold type sick) just sick of what I am doing to myself. My motivation a few weeks ago was so strong. I was headed for a lifestyle change. I let a few bad weekends throw me off track. It's time to get back onto the train and repair the damage I have done to myself. I think the best way to get back on track is to take it day by day. I initially started just watching my food and counting calories then gradually added exercise. I don't know if I should go that route or just put in 100%. My only fear is getting discouraged. I am obviously in a negative spot right now and have to get back to thinking nothing is impossible. I need to PLAN that always helps. I appreciate all your help. Thank you! Lindsey |

Hi Girls! It sounds like everyone is doing so well. I am so happy for all of you. I on the other hand have completely lost all motivation. I went out of town and haven't seemed to get back on the wagon. I hate weight. I feel crappy and like a loser. I don't mean to bring this group down. I am just looking for ways to stay motivated. How do all of you do it? Any ideas? Thanks for your time. Lindsey |

Happy Bday Jodi! I hope you had a nice time. Maybe cheated a little. I wouldn't feel so bad if you cheated too. LOL! Glad the 16's are looking HOT! Icegenesis-I loved that article thanks for sharing. shizzigirl-you are still my hero with all your working out:) All those hard mornings will pay off. I heard its better to workout in the morning. Do you know if that is true? I usually workout in the mornings after I put my daughter on the bus. Well this week has been OK! I have been dragging a little. Still working out, but really have to convince myself to do it. I need a little more motivation. How is everyone doing this week? Talk to you soon. Lindsey |

Good Morning Ladies! I am finally back. This past weekend was my bday weekend and we went to a resort in Phoenix. We had a lot of fun. I didn't eat so well, but I am ready to be back on track. It is amazing how yucky you feel when you eat the bad stuff. Before I went I weighed and I lost an additional 2lbs. I am at 12 lbs in 6 weeks. I was a little disappointed because I wanted a bigger result, but I know this is a healthy rate. I am going to change my foods alittle this week and hopefully make healthier choices and see the results. I think I will have to work a little harder with the weekend I just had.
vablueangel-I hope your asthma is doing better. I can't imagine that feeling of not breathing so well. shizzigirl-Happy Anniversary. Penny-you are in my prayers. luvhim-I absolutely love the belly dancing idea. I did a class a while back and had so much fun. Jodi-a 16 is a 16 that is great.
Have a great Monday. Talk to you all soon. Lindsey

I just have to vent real quick before I workout out. I hate photos of myself. Have you ever seen a picture of yourself that made you sick? Well I just saw a couple. I swear when I step out of the house I don't look like what I see in the pictures. Does the camera really add 10 pounds? I would feel so much better if the camera added 30 pounds. UGHH! Well on the flip side it has got me more motivated. Thanks for all the calorie counting help. You guys are great and I have only been here a week. Welcome Asia. I will post more later. Shizzigirl-Seriously your workout routine is inspirational. You kick bootie. I hope to be like that soon:) I will be back later until then have a great Monday. xoxo Lindsey

Exercise is getting easier. Two weeks straight M-F. I always feel better once I get it in and over with:) So I am kind of dumb about counting calories. Can anyone recommend any sites. Kind of like "Counting Calories for Dummies". I need to determine how many calories I need to consume in order to lose weight. |

The weekends are always rough. I allow myself one free meal. It makes it alot easier to get through the weekends. How do the rest of you do on the weekends? Jodi-WOWSERS! 25lbs is awesome. I don't think it is so much the # as it is to fit into smaller sizes. I am around a 16-18 right now and even with 10lbs down I still fit in the same size. If I could get into a smaller size that would be fantastic. So congrats on that:) Are you a stress eater? Also if you are pms-ing that might be period (bloating) weight. You might not have gained any weight so don't get discouraged. Well I have a week before my 30th. My husband and I are going to go to a resort here in Phoenix. I have a suit that I need to fit a little better in. Next week I will need the extra push. No mess ups this weekend. What does everyone do for exercise? Right now I do the Biggest loser every other day and the other days I ride a stationary bike for 20 minutes. I hate to exercise, but I hear if you do it 21 days it turns into a habit. I feel better doing it first thing in the morning and getting it over:) Well Happy Friday:) Lindsey

Hi Ladies! Thank you for being so welcoming. It's nice to feel like we ALL have something in common. Being over-weight can be so lonely. I have a daughter and husband that are skinny and they have no idea my daily struggles. I know I have a lot to prove. People come and go on this site, but by staying on this site and communicating is a way of showing how serious I am. I know that we will all have struggles. It is so nice to be able to share them and have people understand and share the same struggles. My goal is to be the best I can be everyday. Take one day at a time. My approach on this weight loss is that there are no quick fixes. I will get results, but it is according to the Law of the Harvest. Like a farmer, who plants in the spring, his crop comes in a season. The challenge is to accept the season when it comes and not immediately. IT TAKES TIME. Day by day, I will not see as much of a change, but over a month, I will be able to look back and see a change. Over a year, I will see a large change. The trick is to not get discouraged. Remember, it takes time, cultivation, planning and patience. I will get there, but it will not be instantaneous. I have to remember I didn't get this body overnight. It took me a while to get these lovely curves so....its going to take time. Fad diets will give me results that are quick, but the end result is only going to make me gain back and much more weight. This is a lifestyle change-I have to do it. When you reach 30 which I know we have a diverse group, the weight is so much more than "looks". Its about health and taking care of our bodies.
We can do it girls. We are doing it. Take it a day at a time. We won't be perfect. But we can do our best:) xoxo, Lindsey

Hello!
I'd like to join this group it that is OK. I have been counting calories for the last month and have already lost 10lbs. I am needing a buddy to chat with and keep me motivated. I am turning 30 on the 11th and that was my main motivating factor. I have lived the last few years very lazy and I am ready for a change. Things are moving slow, I need a little extra help to keep on going. A little bit about me. I am married and have a 6 year old. I am an interior designer from AZ. Love clothes, love to cook, love to spend time with family and friends. I am pretty shy sometimes and it is mainly because of my weight. I tend to think people are judging me by the way I look. It holds me back. I am ready for a change. If 30 is the new 20 I want the next 10 years to be the best of my life. Anxious to hear back from everyone. Just let me know what you are doing and what is working for you. Thanks! Lindsey |
