hey, i know what you mean about being stressed and feeling like you can't stop yourself from indulging. i'm definitely someone who stress-eats and my new year's resolution is to try to reduce my stress in ways that wont hurt my body, my diet, and my peace of mind. i'm a biology student, so understanding the body's processes always helps me to better understand my own reactions. i found a great article about the psychological/biochemical connection between stress and overeating, heres the link: http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/index .php?term=pto-20031121-000002&print=1 i hope this helps! stay strong! |

hey, everyone! I go by Seffa. I'm 17 and a high school senior. I think I'm on the heavier side in this group. I'm 148, looking to lose around 13 pounds, although I'd be happiest trimming of an inch of body fat on my hips and thighs and getting more muscle tone. Has anyone else enduring senior year found the whole college application process stressful? I've definitely been letting the stress affect my eating habits. |

hey, sylvie. i'm frasco. i'm new to c-c, but I read your post and thought we share some similarities. my story: I'm 17, 5'6", and I started dieting way too early. I was a dancer for 9 years, during 4 of which I was pressured to lose weight; I quit when I had succumbed to bulimia as a result of the pressure and lost my passion for dance. Three years later, I'm totally recovered and definitely ready to slim down a little bit, in a healthy way. My current weight is 148 which is definitely on the plump side for my frame. I want to lose 13 pounds by December 1st (or November 30th, 24 hours really makes no difference); 135 is my favorite weight, and I think thats a reasonable goal. I have a nonstop schedule so to get through the day I need to eat a lot of high fiber, high protein food in small doses at various intervals. My typical day consists of Greek yogurt and fruit in the morning, a sandwich midday, tomatoes, cheese and raisins to nosh on at various intervals, and then whatever delicious meal my family prepares for dinner. I usually end up eating around 1500-1600 calories a day.
I totally get what you mean about the whipped cream, but it's so delightful with a little treat, why cut it out? _frasco |
