I didn't even think of that! Don't I feel stupid.

Either way I think I will need to be cutting down on the barley sugars...

Thank you!

I always used to eat so much food later on in the evenings after I had had dinner... my trick was to bruch my teeth directly after finishing dinner. It either takes away the desire to eat completely or I am too lazy to be bothered brushing my teeth again (:

Good question. I would also like to hear the answer to this! =P

I don't eat bars all that often but usually before a work out or when I get home from work in the afternoon.. before I exercise mainly.

Health & Support I Need Help... Sep 11 2008

Wow.. I just posted a journal about something like this! I had been eating under 600 cal a day for a few weeks and then I saw this thing on starvation mode - It scared the crap out of me and I actually think it may have changed the way I think... It sounds like you might need some real help but! Have a look around, research ED's and have a look at the affects of starvation mode. It could scare you straight? You should talk to your family or someone you trust, they will be able to watch you and it will make you accountable.

Good luck!

Weight Loss Am I doing something wrong? Sep 10 2008

It sounds obvious and I can't say I really know what I'm talking about, but I know that if I restrict my carbs too much or food in general I lose energy and get really tired and need to take naps. Perhaps you need to add a few more calories? I also know that there is no way in the world I could function on 6 hours sleep!

You're not crazy. I have returned yoghurt and cheese that I realised wasn't reduced fat. I have also spat out a mouthful of porridge because I realised I wasn't hungry anymore! Maybe we are both crazy...

I am the same, I weight myself as often as possible as if its up it just encourages me to try harder.

However it freaks me out how it fluctuates during the day, mine can honestly vary up to 2.5kgs in one day. Should you take the lowest weight at face value? Thats what I tend to do =P

I like Light 'n' Luscious fruit drops. They are sugar and fat free and low cal. I will usually pop a couple after I have eaten my lunch because my body craves in stages... fruit/veg.. savoury...sweet. And since I wanted to cut out the sweet a couple of these babies does the trick. You can probably pick them up or something similar at your local pharmacy.

Foods Dried fruit.. is it really that bad? Sep 09 2008

Hey, that is a good point, I drink tons of water each day so I should be right.

I guess moderation is what I was lacking in =/

Oh well. I know now!

That's strange, stress usually causes me to lose weight, especially at exam time! Maybe it affects people differently..

Thank you so much, all of those recipes sound great, making me hungry just thinking about it!

Yes I'm not too keen on jarred sauce or anything that comes out of a jar really.. except chocolate coated almonds (: so I will definitely be giving these ideas a try.

Just one question...what on earth is spaghetti squash?

I don't know if you guys get Mountain Bread in the US but for any aussies I highly recommend it! Its kind of like a really thin and low cal pita, comes in so many flavours and varieties and all of them are so delicious and good for you! I am in love with the stuff, you can use it in place of so many things, I make a beautiful lasagne using that instead of pasta sheets.

I use this as the base and throw on all the veggies I want, usually topped with a small sprinkle of parmesan, because its so strong you dont need as much. Just whack it in the oven and you have a tasty, crispy low-cal pizza.

Cheesecake. Most definitely cheesecake. Of the heavily chocolate sprinkled variety.

Yes I'd be the size of a house :D

At the moment I love cous cous, its so versatile.

Take 1/2 a cup of cous cous and cook it, then add a can of tuna/salmon, and a cup each of peas and corn. Heat, stir and serve! The best thing about this is you can do anything with it, substitute grilled chicken for tuna and add an vegetable you like. Delicious!

Also goes well for lunch the next day with a bit of reheating it tastes great. And the best part is, it fills you right up. I would eat half of the quantity above for dinner and then take the other half to work for lunch the next day.
