I am sorry that this happened to you. I think that yes, you should take your time until you feel good about going back. But do go back. You should not stop doing something that made you feel good.  Maybe go with a friend or ask the staff to accompany you until you feel more comfortable.

In the meantime, maybe work out at home and look for other alternatives. Dont let this incident stop you from reaching your goals.

Know what you mean.... Yesterday someone brought in Brownies to the office. Smelled so good! I did not have any... Then someone gave me a dove bar. I passed it on to  someone else. I did not eat any of it. Later the chips got me but I was able to not eat the whole plate, just a few...;)

Slowly but surely the scale is moving in the right direction. Despite the fact that because of work I had to go out to eat and not in the most healthiest of places. Anyways, it looks like working out is "working out" (smiles) for me. I been working out with my 11 year old son and that motivates me. He has a lot of weight to loose and we are hoping the work out will work out for him as well.

Motivation In need of a pep talk! May 11 2009

What keeps me motivated are my kids. I think what it would be like if I was not around for them because believe it or not 10 extra pounds may not kill you but a 100 will.

Heart Attacks, diabetes run in my family. These health issues and others come along when you are overweight. So I am setting my mind up. The buck stops here, I am not over eating and I am exercising because I want to be around for a long time. Is it hard? Hell yeah! There is days when I work a 12 hour shift, where I do so much stuff for others that  all I want is a couple of chocolate bars or a few glasses of wine to unwind. But, what I notice is that after I have that first ahhh taste of chocolate or whatever confort food if I wait long enough I dont need eat the rest.

So my motivation, My kids and been around for them.

The way to stay is to have that little indugence ever so often but, if you indulge make sure you enjoy it and dont go on a guilt trip, go on a happy trip and work it out!

Hello congratulations to all! Great job at working it out.

No loss this week . But I will not be discourage. Will continue to work out and keep within my calorie intake goal and I will make it.  Last week worked out 5 times during the week so that is good and consistent for me. The weight will come off. Positive thinking!

Hello Happy to hear about your success Minlyn. I have good news to share too!

I went down two pounds as well. My goal is eight for this month. I think is doable! Been working out 5 times a week at the gym for one hour and twice a week at home. Drinking lots of water, because I feel so dry all the time.

I also lost one inch all around. Except on my byceps that was .5inch. I think is because I cannot work out my arms. (fracture arm) anyways. Still working out!

Just was wondering any suggestions for some warm food that is low in calories that is easy to take pack for lunch. No soups please!

TOday in NPR there was a talk about doing mini workouts throughout the day. Maybe instead of running to the fridge we can all try to work out for ten minutes. Is not going to help us loose all the weight but, Here is hoping we dont gain anymore:)

minlyn, we are in the same boat. I been going to the gym 5 times a week and nothing seems to come off. I think is true, that because I exercise I eat more or the stuff I should nt. But today I had a moment when I was at the eliptical trainer that I hope will change that.

I was at the 20 minutes mark, I was tired and sweating and thinking I rather be in bed when the machine reached the 200 calories. It made me think: It took me 20 minutes to burn off my breakfast! AHHHH!

That is when I realize no more eating stuff that is not healthy and is not on my plan to eat. I make a plan every week (sometimes everyday) of what I will eat for the day. But somehow stuff sneaks in, the staff shows up with a Birthday cake for someone, there is a meeting and refreshments are left on the table for someone to eat or some well meaning person gives you a chocolate bar or half their Potato CHIPS!  I need to SAY NO!!! It will cost me 20 minutes in the GYM! LOL!

Welcome Jett. I guess everyone blew it last weekend. Me too. I think the Wine did me in. No gain though! But no lost either. Anyways, I am back on track!

A reminder to myself and to all: It took us a while to get here and will take us a while to get back! But we need to keep taking the steps to get where we want to go. So in my case I will step into the Gym and out of the kitchen. (Easier said than done :)

Hi everyone: Sorry to hear you were having a bad day yesterday minlyn. Hope you are doing better today.

I am doing good today. I achieved my goal this week to go to the gym 4 times! I did it! I also actually worked out for 45 minutes each time! Eventhough, I have a fracture arm!

I feel quiet tire but excited and am already planning my next week goal. Exercise 5 times next week.  Anyone with me?

Is going to be hard been a holiday on Monday and all but, maybe people can get out and bike, ski, dance depending on where you are. Or just play tag with the kids that counts as exercise right. I know I jump rope with my ten year old the other day in the basement and boy did he beat me. We had a contest for who can jump more times in a row and he can do 70. (meanwhile my tongue was out on 20)

Anyways, Happy Valentine to You all.

Any one has exiting plans. I am staying home watching old movies and my husband will cook!

Hello everyone: I am sorry to hear that King Cake is so delicious. But, I am certainly glad that is one temptation I donot have to fight:)

minlyn, you should be proud of yourself that you work out six times last week. That for me is half the battle having to get out and do the actual work it takes to get rid of the calories.

I worked out only twice last week. Tough week, sick, plus work and weather does not help. Anyways, I worked out today and I am glad to say I lost one pound 19 to go.  maybe because I was sick but who cares a pound is a pound Yahoo! :)

You know is about 19 weeks to June 10 (my Birthday) I still have a chance to loose this 19 pounds!

dont be discourage, we all been there. Just forget the past and work at it again! It happens to all of us. Everytime I hear a bad of chips open I have to run the other way or else the bag is GONE!!!

. I feel like the kid at a party that sits in front of the food table and does not leave until the chips are gone or the cake is cut. Point is we al been there but I am with you curse the donuts and the potato chips!

Thank you minlyn. I will readjust and keep working it. So far so good this week Went to the Gym twice and exercised at home once. Not bad Hopefully that helps. Food wise I am avoiding temptation and staying away from anything salty or chocolaty. But is taking alot of will power this week. However, my very tight clothes are speaking to me:) they say dont eat or we will break!

Smiles

Go Steelers!

I did good last week exercised 3 times a week and streteched did low intensity work outs twice. So I achieved my goal of 20 minutes of exercise a day or more. Anyone else tried to workout?

Yet,  I went for my weight in today and no loss whatsoever. I did not over eat at the superbowl or over the weekend, guess that I need to pump up the exercise.  Ohh Well, I willkeep trying.
