It was gone for the most of the day but now it's back! Ugh - I am not buying a Roger's phone ever...just because of this. LOL It is very annoying and I wish this site wouldn't allow this type of advertising that opens itself - not all of us can fix the problem by installing Firefox...it depends on where we are when we are using the site. Oh well. |

That is so sweet of you to take him in!I am so glad he didn't bother the cats!! :) I bet the cats end up ruling him in the end! Give him some time - I bet he is so upset and sad! I can only imagine how confused and sad he must be...but he will come to realize very soon that he is a lucky dog to have found you and his home for life!! Maybe you should call him Lucky! |

I have a pop up blocker. It just seems to open itself every time you click anywhere. Usually these types of ads open themselves up when you click on the ad - this one just opens. And your right ofabulousme (great name by the way) when your trying to log things in on the sly quickly at work, it's almost impossible to do. |

Totally guilty - and I use happy faces and wink faces alot to. It's very hard not to use them when you get so used to it. Once I sent an email without any of that - and I was accused of being abrupt and rude...so I started using them again. I haven't used one once yet and for some reason I can hear Ben Stein reading in my head as I type this. I feel very boring. Have a nice day. |

Maybe look at this as an empowering situation - you were terrified...but so would anyone who hasn't had your horrible situation!! Then you obviously handled it and got action taken without any physical harm coming to yourself! Pat yourself on the back- you were very brave and you made the gym a safer place for all woman!! Way to go! Until you feel calmer and more trusting of the facility...can you shower at home so you can still get your support, encouragement and work out in? Perhaps a female staff member would be willing to "stand guard" for a bit for you? |

Original Post by cajunrider: I can't really argue this point since I don't have the details but no one I know has died in Canada because of the system that I know personally. However I can tell you that to have a baby - from first doctor visit to the last including ultrasounds, all the tests, all the hospital stay has only ever cost me $25.00 and that's because I upgraded to a semi private room...otherwise it would have been free - subsequently...all my children's care over the years other than prescriptions...also free including some minor surgeries by a pediatrician. There probably is abuses to the system here but I pretty much have to be dragged in to see a doctor other than my once per year visit...so hopefully I might balance out at least one of the over-users! |

I am not sure whether to laugh or be outraged... I am thinking that if this kid turns out to be another Howie Mandel or Jim Carey...he is going to be able to use this as prime material! That being said...if it was my child - she would be fired also - woudln't rest until she was!! On the flip side - I sympathize with people in the school system today - perhaps they should bring back the strap! ;) |

That is a horrible accident and tragic for both the dog and the family! My friend was walking her puppy on a leash - she accidentally clipped the leash to the rabies tag instead of the collar and her puppy was hit and killed before her eyes - the truck driver didn't even stop - probably assumed she had it coming for her dog being off leash...you can't really judge unless your there. My husband can walk our dog off leash because he has him in his control and in his reach at all times - the dog doesn't have the same level of respect for me so I have him leashed - I would rather enjoy the walk rather than discipline the dog every two seconds. |

He is my baby and even sits in my lap if he can!! I can't breathe...but he tries anyways! |

To be able to swallow 20 oz of dry turkey...I would need at least 20 oz of wine...this would make me very drunk...at which point I would eat all the other food in excess or I could just taken a small amount of everything...trying to make the veggies take up about 1/2 the plate...ish...and then have a small piece of pumpkin pie!! |

I went to The Bay at lunch and I saw some of the clothes - and they are pretty nice actually! :) If I can't support a Canadian store/clothing manufacturer...I can at least support Team Canada - I am buying at least a shirt! And...I am sending a hockey jersey to Afghanistan for sure! The moose sweater...kind of a bust - what were they thining?? The west coast has these really cool sweaters - black/grey/white that I do believe are native - they are really nice - itchy as all get out, but really nice!! They should have used the patterns on them instead! |

I saw the movie of Schindler's List and it so moved me that for days it was like I was in a fog - but I have never read the book - I feel like I don't really have to - the movie was that good - conversely I read the The Reader and because of that book - really coudn't care less about seeing the movie...I thought the book was really meh.....I guess it boils down to some people are just amazing visionaries - some get that across to us by the written word - other's show us visually. Thank goodness for both! Perhaps I should go and read Schindlers List and rent The Reader??! |

So...there shouldn't be ANY child actors then....in commercials, advertising clothing, singing groups.....Seseme street....etc etc. I am not being argumentative because given the choice - hell would have had to freeze right over before I would send my child to work in any way...but there is that part of me that likes to see babies on commercials...I LOVED Seseme street etc etc etc...I didn't mind so much OTHER people doing it. Also, we are at the now stage....now they have a huge house and a vehicle to drive them all together, family vacations etc etc...but BEFORE that perhaps there was the question of house over our head....or food....? Then along comes an opportunity from someone to make life manageable at the time....maybe in that case I would have signed the contract also. |

I like to read the book first - I want to develop the characters in my own mind, what they look like - how to pronounce their names etc....then I watch the movie to see if my vision was even close! Usually it's not - the furthest a movie was in that regard was Clan of the Cavebear...couldn't believe it! They even pronounced Ayla's name wrong!! |

I read it and it really made an impact on me! I feel that I need to go and re-read it again though. I loved the message - although it's hard to not want revenge and justice for cruelites and evil in this world. I really hope that God really is like all three of them! I was briefly disappointed with timing of the accident and was hoping that there would be something concrete to offer other than a really wild dream...then when he led the investigators to his daughter's remains - it made it better albeit kind of hollywood I guess.... THis was one of those books that I bought because I liked the cover...and I read the reviews on the book cover and took a chance - I was really glad I did! If they do ever make it into a movie, I hope they make it a mini series and most of the book needs to be in there...otherwise it would just be about special effects etc. What was YOUR opinion?? :)

Just out of curiousity....do we feel the same way the other TLC families...such as 17 kids and counting...Little People etc... they also all seem to be doing the same thing - they also have way nicer lifestyles that they would have had they regular jobs....only difference is that I can see is that they are not divorcing or having family problems - perhaps it's not the show as much as it's the dynamics of the personalities involved - they COULD have set the example of how to divorce - let the kids have the house and the parents go back and forth was such a wonderful thing for the kids - I guess it's just really hard to impossible to divorce nicely - I really commend those few ex couples out there who do. I failed miserably at that myself I am sad to say. Perhaps Jon's opportunist style intervention will be a blessing in disguise for all involved!

They aren't so bad. Hudsons Bay tradionally is as Canadian as you can get - I didn't know they were sold to an American company - that is kind of disappointing! I liked the year Roots did the Olympic wear but it was priced right out of alot peoples league - hopefully the Bay will be able to make it affordable for almost all! I would love to get my hands on 2,500 or so Canada Team hockey jerseys to send to the troops in Afghanistan so they can wear them during the Olympics!! :) I think it's very exciting that it's in Vancouver! Go team Canada!! |

I was working at CFB Edmonton in the Officers' Mess - a bunch of our Helicopter pilots were gathered around the TV - then the first tower fell - I stayed and watched with them - they were yelling at first then one Captain said...We just went to War.... I remember the feeling of all my blood falling to my feet. By the time the second tower fell most of them had run back to their unit - it was a very frightening and sad day. Absolutely uncomprehensible! May all those lost that day rest in peace! |

Logging it helps - then I see how stupid it is and I can usually nip it in the butt! I never want to miss a supper for a silly little piece of junk food!! :) |

First off sorry for giggling...I am a HUGE Marley and Me fan and that kind of reminded me of it! Do you own a crate? Perhaps you can crate train him when you can't pay attention to him - like for an errand and that type of thing. My Dad put his dog into the crate when they ate supper and now the dog just goes there - the door isn't closed but he knows to go in there when they sit down to eat. He should never be allowed to jump - when you walk in the door and he's all excitied it's best to ignore him completely - in Cesar Milan's words, no look, no talk, no eye contact. Do not pay him any attention until he is sitting nicely - then you reward that behavior! I have also heard to turn your back to them when they jump. You can also keep him on a leash, and step on it when he tries to jump - make him sit then again reward him for when he is doing a good thing! You have to always be calm and assertive - it will make him respect you more as the alpha - always make him stay behind you when going down stairs or outside - alot of times dogs are actually dominating us without us knowing it - and they won't listen to you if they think they are dominant over you!!! The puppy stage really doesn't last forever - he will calm down eventually! I bet he is absolutely the cutest thing to look at!! ;) Good luck! Oh and check out the Cesar Milan the Dog Whisperer - he is brilliant!! |

Next spring/summer I would like to try composting - I also buy the re-usable shopping bags. I could do so much more though!! |

Turbo Jam is the best! If you go to www.beachbody.com I think you can get a personal trainer who can help you set up your workout schedule - I did the cardio ones three times per week and the weight one twice to three times and I got really good results! I did the 20 minute cardio one with the weight training one. I stoped a while ago and opted for the Y but truly I think I did better with Turbo Jam! Have fun with it!! :) |
