Wow! Thankyou everyone for replying to my question. I'm going to get back to each and everyone...but it will take me a while as my computer keeps freezing...plus there are so many wonderful responses!

As a whole, I found my self really encouraged. I at the moment, plan on going to bed. I'm extremely motivated right now. I am so "THERE" right now. I wish it was morning so I could get on with it! I hope I still feel this way when I wake up.

Wow! So many wonderful, encouraging and thoughtful responses. I want to thank everyone.

I’ve been agonizing on this for so long. I honest believed that there was a mass stereotypical belief when it came to this issue. I think thanks in large part to the responses I got from this post I’ve come to a decision.

As a few have mentioned…placement is a big concern because of the change in skin with weight flux. I think my forearm would be ideal though, as my arms are big….but not so big I’ll have tons of droopy skin. Plus your arms are one of those places you can really work on while you loose weight and slowly replace the fat with more muscle so to preserve the skin. Plus…I want to be able to see my tattoo without a mirror or painful contortionist moves.

I’ve come up with a plan. I’m going to set a date. The date can play the role as a reward and a motivator! I just have to stick to it, no matter the weight loss at that point. That means I’m no longer putting it off, but I’m giving my self a bit longer to lose weight…but with a fail safe of a deadline!

I’ve known what I wanted for a few years. I’m going to get a compass with the 4 points being my 3 sisters and mom. A few inches above the compass will be the North Star, who will signify my grandmother. The compass will be in the shape of a golden dollar from the 1940’s to represent my great grandmother who always wore a necklace with a gold dollar on the end. Just thinking about it makes me tingle with excitement.

Oh...you are anything but fat! I know it still stung though, and she totally messed up your moment! I'm sorry that happend to you...it makes me wanna pounce on something!

Yes, I did have something "kinda" like this happen to me...just the other day too. I was so mortified I even posted it on Craigslist as as rant...however I really am fat:)

My whole family has been sick, and I was sent to the store for 7up (yuck!). As I was walking into the store, a man (early 30's probly), looked at me and said "Here fatty, fatty, fatty" and then barked and howled at me. He stopped walking as a huge SUV drove by him just the...oh, oh yes was I tempted! But I was also mortified. I was so embaressed I got back in my car, drove to a fast food place and ordered 4 7ups, rather then chance getting out of my car again.

Ummm....nair anyone?

I do use nair since I have pretty light, thin, slow growing hair now anyway. But perhaps you can enlighten me? I hate the fact that I essentially have to use a whole bottle of this stuff on my legs!!! (Well, I usually get two uses.) It says spread it on thick, am I doing it too thick? Or do I just have to keep spending the dough?

Well, I'm hesitant to tell anyone to use nair like I do...because according to the bottle it's unsafe. I've never got nair burn on my legs, and I've been using it for almost 10 years. I can get about 4 uses out of one bottle, I've got BIG legs. The way I can get 4 applying it in a thin coat, and really rubbing it in. You can actually get a bit of a lather, and then I let it set for 15-25 minutes. After leaving it on long enough, it kind of dries and you can't really see it anymore. The result for me is VERY SMOOTH legs that last a longer time then shaving.

I'd say 2 uses out of one bottle applying it the way the directions say to do it, is right on track.

Weight Loss Compulsive eating or just enjoying the Holiday? Dec 02 2008

I knew I was going to endulge, I planned it and I accepted the consequences.  I dont know if this makes any sense but I am trying to figure out if I am in denial or just had a break from calorie counting.

Any thoughs? Experiences or ideas?  :-)

If you planned it wasn't compulsive! Feel good about it, you may have gained a few  pounds, but you pretty much knew it was going to happen, it wasn't an accidental crash off track...You PLANNED IT!

Eh...that wouldn't do much for me. I'm a compulsive over eater, binging about 2 a week.

Granite binging on only healthy food would be a lot less detrimental...but I would still do it. Taking away choice permanently wouldn't do a thing for me...as I'd still emotional binge eat...I just wouldn't gain weight as fast.

I nair about once every 2, 3 months durring the winter and once a month durring the summer. Leave me baby smooth for days, and the hair has been coming back lighter and thinner for years now.

Weight Loss does it matter when you eat your calories Dec 01 2008

Your going to get alot of different opinions on this.

My opinion is that, it's not so much "the time at which you eat" but the time between your meals you should be paying close attention to. If you space your meals too far apart and let your self get too hungry your more likely to go off your diet, or binge.

But as far as the 12:00 thing...I don't think that really matters.

Weight Loss Steping on the scale?? Dec 01 2008

Seems like there is a consensus of "do what is comfortable for you". I agree.

I just ordered a scale that I can weigh on. I've haven't had one for a few years. But when I was able to weigh every day I was able to monitor myself better. I don't like going a full week without weighing because "for me" alot of pounds can be gained in one week. I guess I weighed every day to make sure there no big jumps, but only wrote down my weight once a week. It worked for me:)

Hope you figure out what is best for you.

Eh...it's slightly annoying. But I can't really complain about it too much, because it's just human. I do it too.

Normally when trying to describe someone I start with gender, height, weight and begin with the details...glasses, hair color. It's just a description.

Yup...I do this. I really am fat though:D

I am actually relieved to know others  do it for the same reason. I simply want to let them know, that I KNOW I am fat. No need to point it out to me, thankyou very much but I've noticed.

I can't take any kind of compliment. "Oh you look nice." I always make a quick, dismissive reply like "I'm fat, nothing looks nice...maybe decent but not nice."I do think I'm getting better about this though, as here lately I just bite my tongue, smile and then say "thankyou".

tiffanilaguna- Your not pathetic! Everyone has there physical strengths and weakness and everyone has to start somewhere!

Wow...

I didn't read every post...ther are over a 100, and towards the end they look pretty fighty, and nasty.

My entire family is FAT. Not chunky, but fat. We've all been waitresses. We always make sure we tip for the service we receive. If it's good service, the waitress normally receivs a 20% tip.

That being said, I'm convinced that most of the time (not always) but most of the time, you are tipped based on your service and your cooks. Maybe it's your waitressing? Not trying to be mean... but maybe you treat the obese people differently. We do pick up on that kind of stuff ya know.

Weight Loss binge eating, post-thanksgiving Dec 01 2008

To quote my grandmother "give your selve a new sheet of paper".

If you dwell on those 4 days too much, that is just added stress, and it will make it harder to stay on track. If you try to make up for it by restricting your self too much, it might push you off track again!

I find the best way to recover from going off track, is to just start over the next day, as if it didn't happen. If you do that, it really won't matter a month down the road.

What really makes me wanna grow a set of horns however is the stupid jerks who still have their BUSH 04' bumper stickers up!!  Blind, stupid....or do they just not want to mess up the paint job?
