My friends made me go see it with them (I've never read the books, and wasn't really planning to). Maybe it's because I have a serious problem with vampires. The movie really scared me. Being the spoilsport that I am, I went home onto Wikipedia, and read all of the summaries for the books. I feel like the books are kinda cliqued and everything the characters want, they get. However, they basically summed up four massive books in ten paragraphs, so that's not a good way to judge what happens. |

Ok, thanks guys. I really think I have a problem with eating, but I don't know what to do. I feel like I eat a lot in a day and I don't purge or binge, but I just definitely have a bad relationship with food. I don't really want my friends to know that I count calories, because I'm embarrased for them to know. It's not fear that they'd haul me off to an eating disorder clinic, it's more like...one of those things like you want everybody to think you are carefree and worry-free. I did actually eat during the day before the party (which started around 5:00 PM) and the first thing I did when I got home (around 10:00 AM the next day) was eat a full breakfast. It can't be good that I'm so young and I care about these things. I want to stop caring. |

Oh, I got a more positive reply than I thought! I'm actually just maintaining right now, on about 1800-2000 calories, but pretty much the only physical activity I have is really light, around 40 minutes of walking a day, and horseback riding on the weekends. I'm thinking that maybe now that I'm not trying to lose weight, maybe I could just loosen up a little bit? I still think about food and calories a lot. |

I'm not thinking big servings...just the different types of vegetables you like. My four year old sister said "well...I like...just salad. and Shrimp." |

I don't know if I want to take birth control... I'm pretty young and I'm not sexually active. If I told my mom I wanted to go on the Pill, she'd assume it was because I wanted to have unprotected sex. She's just that type of person who jumps to conclusions and never gives up on them. But...(TMI) I am starting to get this mucus-y stuff down there that I used to get between periods. Is this a good sign? |

Hmm...anybody want to try it? The next time I make something with a mix, I'll try carbonated water. Who knows, maybe it's the chemicals in soda that make it work. As for my brownies, I used coke zero, and they turned out pretty good. They were really mushy, but I don't know if that's how all No Pudge brownies turn out, or if it was the use of soda instead of what the box called for- which was vanilla yogurt, actually. |

1) what's your favorite flavour of frosted mini-wheat?: Is that the cereal with the cute commericals? Never tried it. 2) what's your favorite flavour of special k cereal?: The original kind. 3) what's your favorite kind of berry?: raspberries. 4) what's your favorite flavour of icecream?: Normally I prefer to freeze some flavored light yogurt, but if I were at an ice cream parlor, I'd pick cookie dough. 5) what's your favorite shape of pasta? why?: I like the nice, long noodles. I guess I always just have bought those...just one of the things I buy without wondering why I buy that kind. I probably had a reason to like those when I was little. 6) of the four food groups, which food group is your favorite?: Fruits (are fruits and vegetables separate groups? I only remember the old food pyramid from years ago) 7) what food within that food group is your favorite?: Bananas 8) what's your favorite kind of apple?: Granny Smith...any apple that's crunchy, really. I don't like the 'mushier' ones, like gala. 9) what's your favorite kind of squash?: no comment. 10) what's your favorite way to cook eggs (or egg whites)?: tomato and cheese omelet. 11) what's your favorite snack?: sweet potato frie 12) what's your favorite way to eat potatoes (mashed, french fries, etc)?: baked potatoes. I realy just love potatoes in general. 13) what are your favorite vegetables to put on sandwiches/subs?: tomato and iceberg lettuce. 14) what's your favorite flavour of yogurt?: plain. You can go anywhere from there! 15) what's your favorite thing to pair chocolate with (wine, fruit in a fondue, etc)?: a glass of milk. |

I have amenorrhea, so I recently read up a ton on it. So I basically just told you what I'd read, because it might apply to you...? I'm not calling you eating disordered, or anything like that, I'm just saying its something I'd noticed. "There are two types of amenorrhea: primary and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhoea is the absence of menstruation in a woman by the age of 16." |

Could I just mention something? At sixteen, if you have never had a period, you have a type of amenorrhea. It's not the type that occurs in anorexics and major athletes, but the kind that occurs frequently in third world countries due to malnutrition. |

| Calorie Count | Does fiber count towards daily calories? | Nov 02 2008 02:06 (UTC) |

I guess it's really a personal choice on whether or not to count calories from fiber. Right now I just loosely count calories, and get a slightly general estimate of how many I'm consuming. If the nutrition label says 80 calories, that's how much I'll take it for. I've always thought CC just copied the label number-for-number. Do they alter nutrition facts based on the calories omitted from fiber? I do know that for produce with no specific brand, they include fiber calories. Or at least I'm pretty sure. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. |

I think... It depends on if you ate packaged foods or not. Usually with packaged foods, on the nutrition label they skip over calories from fiber. However, a medium apple, for example, is commonly known to be 80 calories- counting the grams of carbohydrates from fiber. Otherwise they would be 58 calories. ...Unless you live in Canada, because I believe they are still required to count fiber calories there. |

| The Lounge | To BRA or NOT to BRA...What's your opinion? | Nov 02 2008 00:53 (UTC) |

I have a question: I usually just wear camisoles with a built in shelf bra- there's no underwire. Does that count as a bra? Because last night for a Halloween costume I used my first bra, and it was horribly uncomfortable. But my camisole with some support is comfortable and I sleep in it. Is that okay? |

I grew up loving eggs, but then around the time I was eleven or twelve, my bloodwork came back after a physical and my doctor said I had really high cholesterol. He wouldn't even let me be in the room, because he wanted to talk to my mom privately. I'm sure my mom exaggerated (she is total worry-wart) but high cholesterol does run in my family, so I try to be cautious. Any recommendations for how many eggs I could have in a week and be okay? |

Don't worry guys- I picked this up at Trader Joe's because I'd heard good things about it. It was a mid-morning snack because my stomach was grumbling a little earlier today, but it didn't seem to effect me at all. Just wondering if anybody can agree with me on this one. My normal breakfasts are actually usually greek yogurt with fruit, an egg white omelette with tomatoes, and some oatmeal. I'm big on breakfast! |

I do remember my elementary school having a very pathetic salad bar...but my middle school and my high school really need to step it up and add ones. How ironic that they give a salad bar the the 10 year olds who only want cookies and sugar, and leave it out for older students who may care more (namely, me). It wouldve been so simple to give my middle school one too, because my middle school was combined with my elementary school (K thru 8th) and the lunch ladies could just wheel the salad bar over - yes, it was so small it was portable - and let the middle schoolers use it. |

I get where you're coming from. Sometimes my stomach seems like a bottomless pit, and sometimes its like I'm just not hungry. I always feel so bad when I get hungry again after a big meal, but usually just some water makes me feel better. A lot of the time, I guess I'm just thirsty rather than hungry. But maybe the rice would've been more filling, anyways? People say you should 'indulge' and 'splurge' on something small and it'll satisfy you rather than a lot of something you don't really want, which will leave you wanting more. But I'd rather have a giant bowl of say, frozen yogurt or sorbet, than a tiny serving of Ben and Jerry's. |

I really love ketchup. When I was little, I'd just take bread and dip it into the ketchup until I'd have so much that it was taste gross and sour. Then, an hour later, I'd come back and have more. I love it on burgers, hot dogs, french fries...all the things that generally goes with ketchup- and more! |

Actually...I don't exercise too much. From walking about 2 miles a day total to and from school, and my horseback riding, I would just classify in the light to moderately active. Horse back riding might sound like a lot of exercise, but I've been doing it all my life, so I'm really at ease with it. I never work up a sweat, get my heart rate going (unless I fall off - lol), or wake up sore the next day. |

Hey, I actually just turned 15, but I hope you won't shun me for being 'old'. I'm Amy, and I'm 5'4". Currently weighing 115 pounds (up from 100 pounds a little while back when everybody was telling me to gain weight), and I just want to maintain my weight right now, maybe make good eating choices without worrying about calories or my weight. So how's everyone's school going? It seems like this year, we jumped right into the hard work and I am SO tired. |

I've heard good things about this peanut butter...much better than Better N' Peanut Butter. Is it worth ordering online? I subscribe to Hungry Girl, and some things she raves about are only available online, or in some obscure store that I don't want to hunt down just for some protein bars. So...remind me how much it costed again...and if it's good enough to buy online? |

I got the vanilla flavor a few whiles back and loved it so much that I went back and bought more! It's not as rich as regular ice cream, but it's definitely perfect for satisfying my cravings. As for the powdery texture...my vanilla was fine (the only flavor I've tried- why mess with success?), but maybe I just haven't had real ice cream in such a long time that anything tastes good! |

You really can use it anywhere you want to use peanut butter...but don't expect it to taste exactly the same. Also, when it gets warm, it gets runnier than peanut butter would, so be wary of that. I have a jar in my fridge, but I prefer peanut butter anyways. |

I don't like going to starbucks as much anymore, but when my friends insist I just get a simple tall green tea, no sweetener. I find that it actually tastes good, but I hate paying more than a dollar for it, since I could make it at home. |
