Some wise person told me this little gem: You didn't put the weight on overnight, it's not going to come off overnight.

No problems for me either. I'm sorry I'm not savvy enough to give you an answer. |

I gained 75 lbs when I became disabled with Rhuematoid Arthritis. After 5 years of watching my weight creep upwards, the last straw was the size 52 DD bra I just had to buy for comfort. I knew I was going to count calories, and keep a food diary and while searching for an online source of calorie amounts in my favorite foods I found CC. I haven't given much thought to maintenance, since my goal is to permanently change the way I've been eating. I am amazed at the scope of CC, and I do believe by the time I've shed 30 or 40 lbs. my new eating regime will be firmly inplace. I'll never be sexy, but I'm sure that not carrying so much extra around will make a difference in being able to do things. I hate being exhausted all the time. |

| Weight Loss | Women - What is your "dieting" daily calorie intake? | Sep 16 2008 22:55 (UTC) |

I'm only 3 days deep into this, but so far I'm averaging 1350 a day. I'm a 56 year old woman, recovering from Lymphoma, living with Rheumatoid Arthritis so I'm sedentery most of the time. I asked my doctor about a treadmill and he said "Don't even think about it" (The RA has damaged the joints in my feet.) I gained a lot of weight when I quit working due to the RA and the meds I take, but my goal for now is to go from 230 lbs. down to 185. If everything is going smoothly at that time, I'll continue on to my ultimate goal of 155. I try to walk around the yard everyday, and to play with my dogs. But mostly I knit and play on my computer. Go figure! I'll try to let you know how this is working out for me, and I wish the rest of you the best of luck! |
