First off, people are crazy--skip the scolding he had a simple question and he didn't need everyone's anti-drinking campaigns.

Secondly, I agree with Jewel, but I think I have a better solution for you. Normally people know when they are going out so if you get a call on Monday saying hey lets go out Friday that leaves you 5 days to eliminate 1000 calories. Instead of eating 1750 eat 1550 or eat 1500 just in case (you may find 10 is not enough). I think if you eliminate that many calories in food for the day it will be unhealthy (i.e. the least amount of calories you can eat for the day is 1200)

Now if you get a call on Friday and your friends are like hey lets get drunk tonight you are somewhat screwed. If that is the case eat the most nutricious food and still try to shoot for AT LEAST 1200 calories for that day and minus 225 calories from saturday and sunday.

Or, you can just say F-it and go over for that day and have a good time, which I think is important. Sometimes restricting your life makes dieting suck and you want to give up.


Keep in mind I'm not a nutritionist and I'm probably gonna get a lot of criticism, but drink responsibly.

I think they only give signs away in swing states. I'm from illinois and i had to pay $8.00 for my sign--be happy yours was only $3. Illinois has a crazy amount of signs up. I don't think I've ever seen so many. People have both McCain and Obama signs in their yards because families are torn. I can't go 4-5 houses without seeing a sign. I live in a very republican district in Illinois and I'm happy to see more obama signs.

Well here is something I do know (since I am hypothyroid): I am one of those people that can never have her medicine stay where it needs to be and constantly fluctuates and YES, I do take my medicine at the same time everyday. Anyways, the other I went in for blood work and of course my medicine is high-- I am attributing some of my weight loss to having high levels. I have been working out and following calorie count diet and I assume this helped--but I have reason to believe that since my levels were high helped my weight loss. Why?? Because my non-exsistent (had mine completely removed) thinks that I am hyperthyroid. Now, that my medicine is going to decrease I'm probably going to see my weight shift slightly higher. Here is why: My non-exsistent thyroid has been working harder than needed for the past 6 months. The medicine I'm on works almost instantly--despite what the doctors say I can tell a difference, but whatever. Even the smallest change in your medicine will impact your body, forsure. So now think about it, for a littel while you've been overactive and NOW your medicine is decreasing, but the change is soo quick that your body reacts to it. I don't think your doctor was trying to be harsh, but at least he is honest with you. My doctor said I was only going to gain like 10lbs and I gained 50 soooo, at least he is upfront. Here what I will say, I don't believe your going to gain 10lbs, but I do think you main gain a little bit of weight. But once your body gets back to normal and adjusts that weight should come off quickly i.e. 2 weeks tops (but I'm not a doctor so take my word on this) but this is what happens to me. Now if only I could lose the the 50lbs, well actually 40, (I lost 10) I will be happy.

Hahaha I hate to laugh, but the same thing happened to me the other day except mine was chinese and the next day I gained 4 lbs....it was awful. I think I may have doubled my regular calorie intake (maybe tripled). Before I knew it I had already finished the entire thing. I was soo disgusted with myself at the time, but I look back and laugh at it now. 

The next day (which was yesterday) I went back to eating healthy (in my terms). The key is to get back on the program and not give up because you ate the whole pizza and all hope is NOT lost. Try to think of why you ate the whole pizza--were you not paying attention (watching tv, playing on the computer), are you upset or depressed, or did you just want to eat the damn pizza because you thought you deserved it. Once you realize why you ate the whole pizza you'll be more concious about it next time you want to eat the whole pizza.


I've lost 2 of the 4 pounds i gained, but I'm still unhappy with my choice; life goes on. Hang in there and continue on...

I've been using the about.com formula in order to calculate my calories and it has proven to be successful. I never take into account the calories I burn because I feel they usually lie when they i did this or that. I think of my workout as an added benefit; although, It does look like A LOT of calories you're burning by working out. I'm not a doctor, but that doesn't seem, right? But that's just what I think.

 

Anyways, according to calorie thing you should be consuming 1891.66 calories a day in order to lose 1 pound a week. I'll send you a link. I think going over that, even though your working out, is a bad idea unless you are having one of those days... You're supposed to adjust your calories with the lbs you lose so, every 5 pounds I adjust my total

There is a weight limit for the Wii Fit, but I think it is between 350-400..I have one and I remember reading it, but threw the manual away. Hope this helps.

There are so many posts on this board that it is hard to keep up with them, so I'm sorry if I have not read all of them. I've seen many of you have been on this thread since day one and it is nice to see you guys sticking to it.

As you may have guessed I am in my 20's (24) and looking to lose over 100 pounds. I am trying to lose weight in lower numbers though, by next October, oh my that seems to be so far away, I want to be half-way to my goal. If by some miracle I've overshoot that number I will be excited, but right now that is my goal.

I look forward to reading more of your success stories!
