WAY TO GO!!!

I have a question, girls.....what do you do when you get sick?  I dodged the flu/sinus/yuck bug going around the office for 3-4 months and then when I started eating healthy and exercising BAM! I got it!

I really don't have the energy to sit and log, then weigh and prep evrything let alone workout....HELP!

And, again way to go one pounders!

annschmech - I totally AGREE with your philosphy!!!

I know I am not supposed to weigh myself too often but I figure right now in the beginning of this new lifestyle I am going to get positive results because I was eating sooooo poorly and barely moved my Ample Sitting Surface at all!

I got on the scale again this morning and it read 205!!!  Woo Hoo - that is 5 pounds since 12/31/2008!  I am hoping to get to 150 by the end of 2009 and then I will see what happens after that.  I am prepared for the plateau but right now I am enjoying the journey on the way to the destination and today was a great day!

Anyone have any suggestions on cutting costs, prep time, and log time?  I know it's more expensive to eat healthy but oy! And I am spending more time measuring and then logging everything! Any input would be greatly appreciated!

G'night - I have to get up early to go for a walk before work!

Okay One Pounders!  I did it, I did it!

I made it through a Monday back to work with all the stress but started the day with a 30 minute walk this morning with my daughter even though it was still dark out and the fog was so thick it was more of a mist!

Stayed on my eating plan and within my calorie count. Then, get this!  While my daughter was in the shower (at 8-years old you can play a long time) I did 10 minutes on the elipitical....really slow of course; 10 minutes on the fitness ball with weights....only 5 pounds each of course; and 10 minutes of stepping!

Woo Hoo!

How long does it take to turn something into a habit?  30 days?  Or is that how long it takes to break a habit?

Ok....I'll bite!  But not into that yummy but oh so horrible hashbrown casserole!

Hello, I'm Shannan and I am new to this site but not new to trying to lose weight.  Since I left the party days of my 20's behind I have watched my weight go up, up and a"weigh"!

I'm 44 and will be 45 in March, have an 8-year old daughter, and a sedentary job.

I tried out for Biggest Loser about a year ago with my lifetime friend but we were not given a call-back.

I have an initial goal of losing 60 pounds by the end of the year and then would like to drop another 20-30 depending on what my body tells me to do.

Logging my food intake and physical activity has been very helpful in my first few days of sincere effort toward getting healthier.

I really have to get moving....exercise is going to go a long way to helping me reach my goals.  Last night I went with a friend out to the Beach Club and danced for an hour and a half.  A $5 cover charge was not a bad price to pay for the night and the band plays great 80's & 90's music and the DJ in between sets plays the current dance hits.

My one problem is the lack of support I feel from my ex-husband who I recently got back together with after being divorced/separated from for close to 7 years.  Throughout those years we maintained a great relationship and stayed friends but it bugs the heck out of me that he continues to drink beer, eat pizza and anything he feels like (which we always had fun doing together)!

The only thing I miss about my ex-boyfriend is the physical affection....he really liked me the way I am physically although he had a lot of other criticisms to throw my way!

OY...I'm am pushing TMI here - I need some support too!  I'll take one pound at a time in fact I will be happy with 5 pounds a month!

Looking for a fellow Loser!!!!

Curious......

before reading what was written (basically scanned the chapter titles) I checked your profile and saw that you had dropped 70lbs and then put it back on but are getting back at it again.  What is your recommendation as to how NOT to let life events throw you off course?  You wrote a book for us (and for yourself I presume) which must have taken an enormous amount of time.  How can we follow it, live it and not gain back what has been lost?

BTW - thank you!
