| well i am small too 5'4" and my problem area was my tummy...i have been doing cardio almost everyday for about 30-45 mins...then i have been rotating lower body and upper body workouts...and doing abs everyday. i do regular crunches, leg lifts, and i try to do bike kicks...but they kill me...and i have lost about 1 inch in my tummy so far... and i just started...well a few weeks ago. you have to keep up the cardio to loose the fat and do toning all over to help stay tight...trust me i wish there was a easy quick fix to tighten the tummy but it is just lots of hard work... | |||

| ummm...i would look in the frozen juice isle...you know the ones that come in the can and you just need to add like 2 quarts of water...well i don't know if this is only in hawaii but we have many that are made of passion fruit. it tastes great but there is nothing that compares to it for substitution... | |||

| Hey there...i live in Hawaii...have you ever been here? well we have some REALLY great korean places here...i am not korean...half japanese, but i use to work at a korean bbq place...i use to eat that every night...yummy...anyways i think the hot/spicy things can't be too bad...i have read that spices and chilly pepper is good and helps you loose weight...maybe rice or the meats would be a little fatty...like fried mandoo... and meat jun since that all cooked in oil...bi bim bap would be good i think...minus the egg...unless you got just egg whites but that wouldn't be fun...over all i think asian food can't be that bad because there aren't too many over weight asians out there...i know you said you were over weight but you look good in your pics. | |||

| Hi there, well I am 22 and 5'4" i want to loose a good solid 10 pounds or so, and look lean and fit...aka...no cellulite. I started a diet a month ago and lost weight, got down to 122ish...then went on vacation and gained it all back...now i am very depressed and need some motivation. I would love it if maybe we can help each other out. I too love food...and i am stuck at a desk all day with like no work to do so i get bored and eat. its a crime i tell you. can i ask what you are starting at? and do you have a gym membership? | |||

Name: I am Aja School: University of Hawaii Year: just finished 4th year but only one more semester left Did you gain the Freshman 15: well yeah...slowly...more like college 15 in general...I was 110/112 graduating...discovered alcohol (now it makes me sick) and instead of healthy home cooked meals, dorm food and take out...now i'm 126 and slowy going back down. Best food on your campus:they use to have really GREAT breakfast but changed things up...we have a huge mix because the school is so diverse....but fairly expensive. best deal is at subway How bad are your dining halls: there is only one...it has just been renovated within the last 2 years. looks really nice. some other places are nice, but always crowded. i usually eat off campus, cheaper and better |

| well i did go off of the watching calories this weekend. I had the lobster but not much butter i put lemon on top. it was good but got full fast. also had a big salad. I didn't eat too much but more then usual. Hopefully this helps. Plus i got lazy and gave my body a rest this weekend. but will start again today. Do you think it would be okay to do cardio intense for 20 mins. then slow down and stay in the fat zone for like 45 more mins. or should i switch that around? | |||

| well i am not eatting anything new...i have tried a smoothie with soy protein in it but not 2 weeks ago...only a few days ago. what causes stomach acid? i also try not to eat right before i work out or i get full...yesterday i ate an apple before i worked out then after my tummy was sore so i thought...oh maybe i need to eat something...so i ate a peach and the soup. then it got worse after. it just sucks | |||

| well ijust had cabbage yesterday but this has been happening for 2 weeks now. also i have eatten cabbage before with no problem...i love the stuff...i guess it could be because i have been doing cruches again and stuff...i guess its just weird because its never happened before. i feel like throwing up and it just sucks. | |||

| thanks guys you have helped me...but even if you do like the stairs for 10 mins you are still burning cals right...just not fat cals. is it okay to mix it up...like one day intense and then a few days slow...then another intense day...or if i lift and want to loose weight should i just go slow for like 45 mins-1 hour. | |||

| i guess i'm having a slow morning but burning muscle. what does that mean...like you have muscle but its turning back into fat? i mean if you loose muscle doesn't that mean you are getting fat? or do your muscles slim down and become nice and sleek? i just don't get it for some reason...i guess because of my cardio i have be getting muscle...also...what does the cardio training level mean? like exercising your heard good? | |||

| oh...yummy i love thai food...try the tofu garlic plate...you can get it spicy mild or med. its made with lots of mushrooms and cabbage, peppers help with the cal burning i hear...and theres tofu in it. it is soooooooooooooo good | |||

| Hey Jazrbabe when you said..."she told me that if you are hearing pounding in your ears and are unable to talk when you are working out that you are burning muscle and not fat." what do you mean burning muscle? do you mean toning? i just didn't know you can burn muscle.
I have only been doing cardio fo 11 days now so it still kills me, but i notice i am getting better and can last longer. I usually go on the treadmill at 6.5-7 incline and a walking speed of 3.7. i sweat badly from that because its so intense...my heart rate goes up to 170ish which at 22 is the cardio training level. I haven't seen results in the sense of inches and pounds...i'm more toned than i was a week and a half ago. Should i just casually walk to have a lower heartrate? i just want more results? oh and the elipitical kills me...for those who can do it with no problem...good for you. it hurts me knees |

| hey tracy...what do you mean 2 week plateau? well i am asking because i have just started...today makes day 12...i have started exercising...weights and cardio everyday but sunday...and i have cut down my cals. i see the difference...i mean there is more muscle in my quads and less cellulite on the back of my legs, but its not all gone. i haven't lost pounds or inches and its really discouraging me. i usually do really intense cardio so today i am going to try and go for a longer time and a casual walk...along with upper body training...do i need to eat more, like you said in your journal the double cheeseburger? i am going out to dinner tomorrow...going to have lobster...think that would help? | |||

| well the best protein for women is soy. because it is estrogen based...they have rtds...which are premixed drinks either in boxes like little kids apple box juice or in cans. however i have heard that protein in cans lower over time. | |||

| worst comment was when i was skinner but was wearing a loose shirt and a girl (who should have known better) said when are you due...uhhh...i'm not pregnant...
more recently...yesterday...my bf told me he can see changes from the last week and a half...he said my face was skinnier...oh wait...i remember asking him if it was "rounder" to begin with and i believe he said, it was fine...funny! still love him though... |
