my mom does that to me too sometimes! i eat 5-6 times a day and she's like "you're eating, again?" i'm like "yes, i work out and so i get hungry easily.. it's great knowing my metabolism is so fast now!" then i munch down my delicious food in front of her while she drinks a protein shake for dinner because "she doesn't like eating late...." lol.
don't worry.. do whatever works for you! |

hey girls.. and newbies! i hope everyone is having a nice week so far and staying on track :) i didn't have class today and i won't have any tomorrow either.. so i'm just staying comfy at home because it's pretty chilly outside. anyways, today i made myself a bowl of oatmeal with banana slices, raisins, raw nuts and cinnamon powder for breakfast.. hadn't eaten oatmeal in so long i almost forgot how delicious it was!
today's small success: about an hour ago i started getting a really strong urge to go into the kitchen and just pig out. i don't know why.. i ate well today so i figured it was probably out of boredom. anyways, i decided to just eat a fiber bar, drink some water, brush my teeth, take a shower, paint my nails and come in my room with my laptop and listen to music. it worked! i'm not even craving food anymore.. and now i feel better because i'm looking forward to actually enjoying my breakfast tomorrow morning since i won't feel guilty from a night of binging! haha. |

hey everyone :) i'm in school right now and decided to just stop by and update on what's going on since i don't have class until 8:00 am.. um well this week is going WAY better than last week which was a struggle to get through, so that's good. also, i've come up with some things that might help me out when i'm having weak moments where i feel i'll give in to binging which i'll use mostly on thursday, which seem to be my biggest trigger days.
today's small success: it's cold this morning and everyone in my school is walking around with huge venti starbucks drinks and pastries.. i had a nice protein filled breakfast at home with fresh fruit and yogurt :D |

hey guys, i hope you're all having a nice long weekend :) anyways, i stayed home today.. i had a lazy sunday i guess you can say, and it was really nice. i got a lot of my homework done and made myself a chopped chicken, spinach, strawberry and orange slices salad.. it was so good!
today's small success: my sister is still here and today she made a frozen pizza. i ate my dinner while it was in the oven because i knew she was going to try everything in the world to force me to eat a slice. my dinner looked so much better than those greasy, fatty and disgusting slices.. ew! |

| Health & Support | overcoming bulimia- need an accountability partner! | Jan 19 2009 02:24 (UTC) |

i'm in recovery and like to think i'm about 80-90% better.. but i still have some anorexia/bulimia relapses and need some support to stop them forever, so i'm joining this group! my biggest problem is binging whenever i'm taken out of my day-to-day routine.. for whatever reason. that usually leads to about a week of more binging, laxative abuse and restriction. luckily i've been doing a lot better in learning how to just adjust to being out of my routine without panicking. i guess it all goes back to those ocd tendencies ed sufferers have.. it's not even about the calories anymore because i'm just maintaining my weight.. it's just that i feel like i need to eat my healthy foods all the time and exercise regularly to feel clean.. like i'm doing it right. i guess that's an eating disorder all on its own.. now my obsession is not losing weight like it was before, it's eating really healthy, exercising and maintaining my weight. this is ridiculous.. but anyways, i'm taking it step by step and one day i'll be able to say i'm very close to 100% recovered :)
feel free to aim/message me whenever too. |

i'm also maintaining and need some support to make sure i don't fall of the wagon.. so i'm in! my biggest problem is losing control easily when i'm out of my routine.. like when i'm staying over someone's house, going to a party, spending time with family, eating out somewhere, etc. i'm perfect when i'm in my everyday routine but as soon as something out of the ordinary happens, i get off track for like a week or so! so here's to ending that and getting back on track RIGHT AWAY :) height: 5'4" maintaining: 110-115 lbs
today's small success: my sister (who's overweight) bought a huge box of glazed doughnuts this morning and gave me one.. didn't even offer it, just hand it to me.. but i had already eaten breakfast and was like "no thanks, i don't want it." she rolled her eyes at me lol. |

| Weight Loss | When to Weigh? | Jan 16 2009 18:54 (UTC) |
12 |
the problem is not weighing yourself everyday, the problem is your attitude about the number. if you can stand to step on the scale every morning, record your weight and forget about it for the rest of the day, then you're ok. however, if you can't accept daily fluctuations and find yourself becoming obsessed with the scale, then weiging daily is not a good idea. what works for me is weighing every morning after i use the bathroom and recording it on the calorie count weight log.. then i just follow the green trend line that comes up on the graph and go by that. whatever you choose to do keep in mind that there are better ways to track your progress that do not require a scale.. like using a measuring tape to measure your inches lost, having your body fat % tested, paying attention to how your clothes fit, noticing how much energy you have, compliments you receive, your self esteem, etc.. these are things your scale doesn't take into consideration! remember: the MAIN goal is be to be healthy.. losing weight is just a benefit that comes along with that (it's not the priority). good luck! :) |

| Weight Loss | Why do I gain weight so quickly? | Jan 12 2009 15:02 (UTC) |

this used to happen to me. everyone used to toss around the term "water weight" and saying that it will all go away but it never did. anyways, now it doesn't happen anymore and i think i've figured out why..
ok, so this is what i realized was happening with my body. it may or may not be the same for you. this was about 3 months ago. at first i shot up about 7 pounds, but after sticking to my new routine i started losing weight again and am now down about 3 pounds. i've found that sticking to a high protein diet, drinking at least 64oz of water a day and doing cardio/weights 4 to 6 times a week is what's worked best for me. the most important things that might be contributing to your "weight gain when you eat anything" is that you have been previously undereating, dehydrated and/or are starting a new exercise program. it takes time for your body to adjust.. and you need to be patient! you can't expect it to switch gears overnight. if you eat right and exercise regularly i promise you it will all balance out. |

i'm in the same boat as i type. yesterday i was STARVING and ate all the healthy foods i usually eat but just more. today was a different story. i had a hot chocolate, chocolate muffin, guava pastry, cinnamon roll, bag of chocolate chip cookies and an almond joy chocolate bar all before 1:00 pm. i feel so bloated and disgusting now.. and i'm drinking loads of water but defnitly retaining it because i haven't peed even half of it out! so, you're not alone haha. it sucks.. this weekend i'm gonna be clean! |
