Hello ladies,

Just checking in on weigh-in day. Good to see that everyone's doing great. Sun, way to go on your 180:)

I've been good with my diet and working out, but I'm still around the 134 range. I've definitely dropped a size (had to get new pants), even tho the scale doesn't really reflect that. I've been told that there's definitely a difference in my legs and my butt (my trouble spots), so I'm just hoping that I gained some muscle.

Keep up the good work everyone! Until next time...

Welcome Karen and Lisa- good luck on the SBD.

Apparently my body seems to love hovering around this weight, cuase I have been on a plateau for a while now. After almost 3 weeks and no loss confirmed by my scale, I was almost ready to give up. Luckily, my husband had me take "before" pics when I started. Needless to say, I can see a big difference in my last progress pics, but still no cofirmation from the scale. So I decided to keep up my SB regimen, up the cardio, and banish the scale for now. I'll probably just check in on weigh-in Thursdays to offer support, but will not weigh until later on in the month.

Bev,

Don't be too hard on yourself. It's good that you've recognized your trouble areas. I find it helps if I designate a "cheat day", and when I cheat, I do so in moderation, that way the effects won't be too bad. And btw, you can have chocolate on SB, just make sure it's sugar-free if possible. If not try to have the dark chocolate as it's better for you. When it comes to dinner, try to fill up on the salad when you get to dinner so you aren't tempted to eat the bread and all the bad carbs. If drinking alcohol is a problem, have some red or white wine, and that should be fine. Just find ways to work around the weak areas until you are able to overcome them.

All the best for this weekend.

Great progress ladies:)

I'm still around the 136 range, despite sticking to SB & exercising everyday for the past 2 weeks. It's TTOM, so that might have something to do with it. My husband says he can see changes, and my clothes feel looser, so I'll keep on going...

Hi everyone, just a quick check-in. Taking a break from studying, last exam tomorrow then I'm free for a few weeks.

Welcome to all the new folks, good luck. For those of you who are looking for great recipes and alternatives to eggs for breakfast, check out the website "Kalyn's Kitchen", there are lots of exciting recipes to try.

Sun- 189! I'm extremely proud of you, and you continue to be such an inspiration. Good luck on finding that summer job. Can't wait to see the new you after your surgery.

Ahhh, weigh in Thursdays... feels good to be back:)

I'm still at my little ole 136, even after 5 days on phase 1 (and I exercised 4 out of the 5 days). Just gonna try and be patient, and hopefully, I'll see some improvement next week.

Hello ladies... it's been a long while. Good to see that everyone's doing great.

I've managed to maintain these pass few months, but now I'm ready to get back in the saddle and drop the last few pounds to look good and be healthy for summer.

Sun, you should try women's wide legged jeans. They are loose and very stylish. The 70's bellbottoms look is back, so u can pull off the look with a loose shirt and a skinny belt. The key is to wear really dark or black jeans and a colorful top. You've worked hard to get that figure, u should flaunt it:)

Hello ladies, just stopped by to see how everyone's doing. Life's been really hectic, so I haven't been on CC in about 2 weeks. Now I'm prepping for my friend to arrive tomorrow AND study for exams after the break. I gave SB a break in the last week (got tired of eggs and salads), but will be back on phase 1 after my friend leaves. So far I've been maintaining by just exercising and trying to eat as healthy as possible.

Good to see you're all doing great. Keep it up:)

Welcome lxvelaur. SB is a great  lifestyle change. The first 2 weeks can be hard on the body. Try to eat alot of calorie dense foods (like nuts) to up your calorie intake in phase 1.

Sun, I'm so happy for you. Finally in the 100's and so close to your goal. Yay!Smile

So I actually made it to the gym for the last two days and it feels good to be back. My legs were hurting and I'm tired but I know it will pay off if I keep it up.

Just a quick check in. Totally went off the wagon these past few days, and because of all the sodium I'm back to 134-135. I finally gave up and joined the gym yesterday... it's no frills and just what I need to lose my last 5-10lbs.

Staying on phase 1 is hard when my house has been like a hotel since the  start of the year (another friend came by to stay for a week, leaving tomorrow; with another coming early March). So I figure I'll stay on phase 2 and try to get back into my gym routine. Hopefully that will help...

Sounds like everyone's doing great. Keep up the good work ladies.

Sun- glad that you enjoyed your trip, and got home safe and sound. Congrats on your loss, that's amazing! You're almost in the 100's:) Any big plans for when you cross that threshold? You have tremendous will power for staying on SB and seeing it through all the way.

I woke up to 131 this morning (4lbs down since I started phase 1 again), but I know the scale is gonna jump tomorrow, cuz I took today off. Totally went off the SB wagon to have fun with some friends at the beach. We celebrated a friend's birthday, so there were all kinds of goodies. Will definitely be back on phase 1 and chugging lots of water tomorrow to get rid of all the sodium.

Another successful day on phase 1... I'm already down 1 lb. Finally able to wind down after taking my test tonight.

Velvet- that's a really good attitude to have. Lots of times we get lost in losing weight instead of focusing on being healthy and enjoying life. Keep it up:)

Sun- hope your trip is going well.

Welcome Jess & Zeta.

Just dropping by to say hi, since I'm on a quick break from studying (I took the day off to get ready for my brutal Organic Chem test tomorrow).

Back on phase 1 as of this morning... I know tough time to start, but I figured today was good as any other. Ready to kick those last few pounds after giving myself a break last month.

Have a good week everyone:)

Hi all, just a quick check in. Still at 135, I guess that's better than gaining. Have not been running for the last two weeks. My mother leaves on Saturday and my exam is on Wednesday so things should settle down after that.

Good to see that everyone's doing great. Keep up the good work ladies:)

MissKay- welcome and congrats on your weight loss:) I love that website... lots of recipes when I need something to change up the routine. I love the cucumber-avocado salad and the black bean salsa! The egg muffins were really convenient for those days when you're running late and don't have time to make breakfast.

The good thing about SB is that you don't have to follow the meal plan to the letter, but once you have the basics down (eating several small protein and fiber filled meals a few hours apart) you should be fine.

Violet- Sun has been a great inspiration to many of us on this site, sometimes when I feel like I'm stuck (I still have 10lbs to go, been at the same weight for a few weeks now) I think of her and how far she's come. Hope you stay with us and kick those 20lbs.

Hi Ladies,

just checking in. The last few days haven't been as good as I would want  foodwise cause I need to go grocery shopping, and I haven't been running in a few days. I'm been at the same weight (135) for a while now, and yes, Velvet you were right, I've lost inches. Guess the leg muscles has replaced the fat, and I'm soo not complaining:)

Elbie- I'm sorry to hear that you got laid-off. Hope you find something soon. Just try to stay positive. (I know that's easier said than done).

Sun- hope your colonoscopy went well, and you're getting some rest.

Velvet- loving the pic, very cute:) Hope the semester's going good so far. Keep up the good work with avoiding the sodium. Make sure you drinks lots of water to flush your system if you do end up with a bad day...

Sazzie- sounds like you're doing great. Try keeping some SB friendly sugar-free goodies on hand to snack on when you feel the need to cheat. I saw some SB Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies at the supermarket the other day... those used to be really good.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA. Had friends in town for the weekend, so I was busy entertaining them. Still trying to get pass this plateau by running and eating properly, figure I'll get there someday. My legs are starting to look super strong now, still a little cellulite and and there to take care of.

Gonna be busy with school in the week, and the next fews weeks are gonna be hectic as I have other friends and my mother coming to visit...will definitely pop in when I can.

Sunshine- try Peter Pan No Sugar Added peanut butter and Polaner Sugar Free jelly products...awesome!

Congrats, Sun! Nice job chiseling away those pounds. Hope you got some good news from the doctor.

Still at 135... Had a good run tonight, so I'm super tired. I was getting kinda worried about still being at 135, but I'm trying to focus more on eating healthy and staying active. I figure eventually I'll get over this plateau.

Have a great weekend!

Trying to be good has been very hard for the past few days. With the in-laws here, we have been eating out alot; plus there were two birthdays at work this week, so I had a little sliver of cake on Monday and again today.

Still trying to keep up with the running (doing just over 2.5 mi), but that is proving to be hard as well because with school and everything my days are about 13-14 hours long.

Good to see that everyone's is on track and doing well. Keep up the good work:)

Hello ladies,

I'm been MIA for a while. After we got back from my brother's for Christmas, my in-laws suddenly decided they wanted to come spend some with us, (I think they got jealous) so things have been a little hectic trying to accommodate them for the unexpected visit. They should be here til Saturday, so things will get back to "normal" in a few days.

I got one of the classes I needed, but had to go to a different school. I won't have access to the gym since I'm no longer taking classes at my school, unless I pay $25/month. Training for that 5k at the end of this month is gonna be difficult, but I've decided to try to make it anyway by running around my community.  On the bright side, my husband and I will have a little more time to ourselves as we're only taking 1 class this semester.

Sunshine- welcome to the group. Good to see another Floridian:) Try eating more calorie dense SB friendly foods (nuts, cheese, milk) , hopefully that will help with the headaches.

Sun- glad you had fun visiting your sister. You've worked so hard to get where you are, you deserve the break.

Elbie- happy anniversary, and sorry to hear about your friend. It's hard to lose someone close, but they say it gets easier with time (I'm still waiting...)

Velvet- have a great semester! Class officially starts on Wednesday for me, so it's back to the grind.

Have a great week, everyone! I'll try to check in more often...we'll see how it goes with the in-lawsUndecided.

Thanks Sun! Still at 135 as of this morning, but I'm trying to look on the bright side...it could be worse- I could have gained alot over the holidays with all the goodies I had. My regular daily water intake was almost none existent last week and a half, as I had started drinking juice, etc. Back to chugging water and trying to reduce my carbs to see if I can finally get past the 133 mark.

Got back to the gym yesterday and it felt good. Finally running just over 2 miles without dying, so I'm hoping to be able to complete that 5k at the end of January.

Happy new year, everyone! Best wishes for 2009!

I'm finally back home:( Had loads of fun with the family for Christmas. Finally weighed myself when I got back this morning,  I was 135, and that was after eating breakfast.

LB- I think Dannon makes a "Carb Light" brand of yogurts that were sweetened with splenda. I used to live on those my first time on SB a few years ago. Give those a try if you can find them... can't remember if they were lowfat or not.

LB- I think ur count might be right. When I was on phase 1, I realised most days my calorie count was below 1200. Try adding some more calorie dense foods, such as nuts, cheese and milk. Hopefully that will help with your headaches too, since you'd be consuming more calories.

Sun- Publix is the best when compared to most of the other supermarkets. The produce is usually very fresh, so I buy my fruits and veggies there. Penn Dutch grows and raises a lot of their own produce so the prices are a little cheaper, and the quality of the meat there is good as well. I usually buy meat at Penn Dutch and fruits, etc at Publix.

I won't be able to weigh in tomorrow cuz my brother doesn't have a scale. I think I'm at least maintaining tho because the clothes I packed seems a lot looser than they were before, and I'm using the last notch on my belt (and it's still not tight). We'll see if I'm still at 134 when I get back, cuz my brother and mother are starting to spoil me. I wake up and there's already breakfast and lunch, and then dinner is ready in no time... wish I could get this service back home;)

Welcome Sazzie and Neneokafor1. It's gonna be tough doing SB over the holidays, but you'll make it! Good luck:)

Elbie- I live in Ft. Lauderdale too. You might wanna try Penn Dutch Supermarkets, they have lots of kosher stuff and the prices are really good (usually better than Publix, at least for meat). I go to the one in Margate, even tho the other one is closer.

Sun- thanks:) I got in to a class, but still not the one I need...will keep trying...

Travelled all day yesterday to get to my brother's; was greeted by home-cooked meals and tons of goodies. I left FL in 80 degree weather, got here and it was 20 degrees, but felt like 8! My poor husband is not one for the cold, and he's sick already; sneezing the house down like there's no tomorrow. Giving him lots of EmergenC and hoping he'll get better soon, so he can enjoy our stay.

Hope everyone's enjoying the holidays.

Welcome Elbie- SB is a great way to lose those extra pounds. A little tip- when u're craving chocolate, etc, try having a sugarfree fudgesicle.

Ozma- congrats on your weight loss. Good luck on finding a good self defense class.

Velvet- my school has set dates to register as well. Unfortunately, those in the honors program and athletes get priority so most of the seats are taken by the time registration opens for everyone. I work there as well, so I have to fill out forms and go through a lot of red tape before I can register for classes and that's really what the problem is. Even if a spot opens up, I have to call my academic advisor to sign my registration form & send it to the registrar's so they can put me in the class; by then the spot's taken. I'll keep trying tho, hopefully something will work out. I have to take classes next semester, otherwise it will set me back a year, and I can't wait til 2011 to get into dental school cuz I'm not getting any younger!

Sun- I've tried the pregrilled stuff, but after a while I get tired of convenience foods. I have meat/protein now, just a matter of making the sides when we run out in the middle of the week. I usually make potato salad and lots of carby stuff for my husband, it's just that sometimes I get lazy and eat that stuff instead making my SB friendly sides.

Everyone at work is commenting on my weight loss, apparently I'm inspiring a few pple to consider SB. My mother loves my new size, although  she's always very supportive no matter what size I am.

I'm still at 134, I guess my scale likes that number. I think I'll just try to maintain it until the end of the holiday season, cuz it's gonna be tough with all the goodies around. Once I get back from my brother's I'm heading straight to the gym. I'm thinking of going back to phase 1 sometime in the new year, cuz I think I'm gonna need it. I'm off to go do some last minute shopping and pack for my trip...

Have a great weekend everyone. (Sorry for the long post)
