| Weight Loss | Does healthy food make you lose weight faster? | Sep 14 2009 05:56 (UTC) |

I always wondered this too so i decided to eat the same amount of calories in healthy food for a week and the same amount in what ever i wanted for a week...the result? Exactly the same. So like everyone said, its better to eat healthy for many reasons but i find weight wise, i am the same. |

I definately think it's the fruit. If i eat too much fruit, i get a sore stomach, hence the bloating. Maybe just try 2 pieces a day and see how it goes :) |

I hate to tell you the bad news but my boyfriend is the same, he cannot gain weight. He is 6ft and weighs 125lbs, he has for the past 8 years. He works out and all he does is get stronger, run faster and lower his BF %.....there is nothing wrong with him the doctor said, it's just genetics. |

Thats a really good idea and I agree with it. I like to have enough calories left in case something comes up, like going for ice-cream or a bigger dinner or simple hunger. Its hard something though because you feel like your going over your calories because your eating more in a shorter space of time. By overall I agree and am glad its working for you :) |

I don't post a lot but i wanted to congratulate you, losing 100 pounds is wonderful :) and i think what your doing is so gret. A lot of people at that weight would give up but the fact you want to make a different is awesome. I think you could have some more protein from lean meat. Instead of having 2 slices of bread for dinner, why not have a piece of lean fish or the chicken you make unless you always have that but didn't add it to your menu. The same with lunch, add in some lean protein and you will find you won't feel as hungry. Do you like yoghurt? If you ever get sick of skim milk, you could have a fat free yoghurt instead. |

Oops, I only added in 4 hours, 6 hours was 750 calories and when added to my burn meter it moved it up 300 calories. That is a quite a lot considering i burn any where from 200-500 calories from exercise a day. I just really can't see how practically sitting there, writing a bit, talking a bit burns THAT MUCH!! But if it does, awesome! |

Hey, 7 pounds is actually really good. Most diets you see in magazines promote a weight loss of 2lbs a week. Well CC kind of promotes 1lb a week. This way, yes you are eating more but this is suppose to allow you a little extra of what you like and in general, more food so you don't fail. Its hard to think like this because you want those 2lbs like the magazines state but by doing it this way you have more of a chance of keeping the weight off :) |

I looked up your stats on www.phord.com/cc For your type of job, i tried light and moderately active. Depending on how hard you work, i think you would be moderately active. Any way here is what i found. Moderately Active Lightly Active So your definately on the right track. You may even be able to up your calories by 75 By the way, here is sedentary if you have the weekend off work/exercise: Sedentary Hope this helps and your on the way to your weight loss goals :) |

Well, my goal is to become fit. I don't want to be super, super fit though, just comfortably fit. I would also like to tone my legs. I feel i become "fitter" on the tredmill and cross trainer, my legs works harder on the bike. But i'm not sure how to divide my time/days. Thanks for the help :) |

| Weight Loss | Help!! I stopped losing weight and I don't know why! | May 19 2009 23:36 (UTC) |

Hey :) I have your same problem. I joined the gym two weeks ago and for about 10 days i was having a deficit of about 1 100. I lost barely anything. So now i am upping my calories so i only have a 700cal deficit per day. They say that you shouldn't have a deficit over 1 000. Here is what some people said on my post: Definitely eat more. Getting tired is basically your body trying to conserve energy because it doesn't think it has enough for your level of activity. But also realize that if you just recently started a new workout routine, the muscles you're using are going to tend to hold on to a lot more water, both because they need to repair themselves (this is a good thing) and because they're going to tend to store more glycogen in them, which holds water (also a good thing). So maybe you should try to have a smaller deficit and it may help :) |

Thank you very much for that advice, i feel a lot better and motivated to still push myself at the gym, no wondering if i am sweating out for nothing lol. I have noticed my muscles (legs) have been a bit sore so thats obviously the glycogn like you said. Thanks so much, i really appreciate it :) |

First of all, congratulations :) You have a great attitude If you find yourself consistantly a little under 1200 calories then its good to have something little to get you just over that mark but if it happens once every 1 or 2 weeks then it's not a huge deal because when you are sick and eat less for a few days, your body doesn't instantly go into starvation mode. Also, in your life i'm sure you have ate less than 1200 calories for at least one day. So as long as it doesn't happen on a very often basis and you don't want to eat because you want to stay under that number (which i don't think you would), you are fine |

I have stretch marks on my hips and used it faithfully and saw some difference in 2 weeks. They say that purple stretch marks should fade almost completley but the white ones are harder to fade because they are older. Mine were in between white and purple. I would definately reccomend it though, i find its really great and use to put it on morning and night after a shower. Good luck |

Just keep eating healthy and counting calories despite what he thinks. Just think, in another month it will be 10lbs which is definately significant. Plus, the more you resist the foods he leaves laying around, the easier it will get :) |

When the tuna appears more greyish, i would not eat it. I made the mistake of eating tuna that had sat in the fridge for 8 days last year (stupid me) and i was sick for nearly 2 weeks. I know its over precautious but if i open a tin of tuna and don't eat it all in that day, i will throw it out. It's not worth it lol |

I think there was more but my brain has blocked it. I ate all that in about 5 hours. As soon as i became a little un-full, i would eat again |

You could have the fruit and veggie trays as well as little finger sandwiches (not sure what you could have in them). Maybe some tuna or chicken It might get too expensive but you could buy the sushi rolls that come in the small pieces and arrange them on a plate. Maybe just veggie sushi or something that everyone will like. You could miniturize everything and just have a small plate of minture cookies as a treat. Maye you could make a few fruit kebabs or dip some strawberries in 70% dark chocolate. Maybe get some small wholegrain rice crackers (the really small ones) and put a little cube of cheese on each one. You can have reducaed fat cheese too :) It may be too difficult but any chance of a dark chocolate fondue fountain with fruit? lol Bit extreme maybe. |

| Maintaining | How often do you allow treats? | Mar 02 2009 06:33 (UTC) |
6 |
I pick one day of the week (for me it's saturday because its the hardest day for me to eat healthy) and i eat maintainance calories in anything i want. By this i mean, i don't try to get good ratio's. I love chocolate so where as someone may go out for a big meal, i would rather fit in a chocolate bar, some cookies, ice-cream etc. Also, i try to do more exercise because the more i burn the more i can eat lol. But each day i have about a 50-100 calorie "treat". Sometimes its a cookie, a fun size chocolate bar or a frozen yoghurt. Just something that i can look forward too |
