i know exactly what you're talking about :) i find that when i'm at home all day...i get so tired of being inside (because of weather usually) that i just have to snacksnacksnack and eateateat. i try to calm myself and it usually works haha BUT! i try to consume about three 400 calorie meals equal to 1200 and throw in small snacks to bring it up to 1500-1750 by the end of the night. sometimes i can't help but just splurge and EAT like tonight but i find that it makes dieting much easier...tonight i had a huge hamburger, some cheese fries and chicken wings...and tomorrow, i'll be back to normal :) and exercising! (weather looks great) but thats how i do it...equal meals throughout the day!

thank you guys a lot. i definitely understand what ya'll are saying since the burn rates here do give a 4 mph difference haha and i have thought about what the hills have to do with it. therefore come christmas time, looks like i'm asking for a heart rate monitor watch :D (i'm good at planning these things out haha) just to throw this in, i just got back from riding my usual 15 mile loop and i rode it the quickest i've ever have today. 15mi in 50mins at a 19mph average, i'm so happy about that and it even felt like i didn't have to work as hard. amazing how good bicycling can make you feel :) i'll keep on eating my usual 1500-1900 calories since it seems to do fine :) and i'll get those long steady rides in this winter for sure. thanks again!

well thats the thing :) its both i would say. come next spring i would like to race so i do have those intentions and also just to lose weight, so i can be leaner and faster. i guess i am doing an okay job juggling the deficit and feeding my muscles because i almost always feel ready to ride and i'm losing weight so i must be doing something right haha thanks for your input! :D
