Wow, Paris, sound like fun.  Hang in there, we're all in the same boat (hopefully not a sinking ship).

Don't you just hate the scale.  When I'm sure I'm going to lose I gain and this week I blew it and was down 2 lbs.

I used to be able to lose 1-2 lbs a week consistently and never gained.  Now I go up and down like a yo-yo.

When I track my weight for the week now I always use the lowest weight I see.  That keeps me going.

jodi,

Thanks for the support.  I'm going out to lunch with my niece this Saturday and I went to the store and bought cauliflower and will eat that for supper.  That way I can have something substantial but low calorie for supper after going out for lunch.

Happy Birthday!

Steph, welcome to the group.

I was wondering if anyone else has an issue I have.  Normally I eat 600-700 calories during the day and save 800 to 1,000 for supper.  On the weekends, quite often I go out to lunch with friends or family and use all my calories.  Because I have a hard time not eating dinner I end up eating dinner too and then overeating because I figure I've blown it for the day.

I love the show Ruby but they are obviously trying to tie her weight issues with something in her childhood.

Chamber__lanes, welcome to the group.  I love to eat until I am completely full, unfortunately then I usually feel very sick afterwards.  I save my main meal for at night and even though I always want more when I'm done if I wait a little while I'm glad I stopped when I did.

Hang in there!

Welcome to the group.

I track my calories daily on an excell spreadsheet and when I'm going out on the weekend I save 800 - 1000 calories for my dinner out and eat low cal snacks every couple of hours the rest of the day.

I also go on the restaurant website if I know where I'm going and review the menu and decide ahead of time what I will order and if it is over my allotted calories I bring half home.

Recently I went out for a birthday dinner and had half of a salad and bread I really like and still had enough calories left for a mini hot fudge sundae, plus then I had dinner for the next day.

leelee,

I admire you for doing so well on a cruise, I can't even think about going on a cruise right now with all the free food available at all times of the day and night.

Sometimes when you get out of your normal eating routine it's hard to get back on track.  Go back to what's worked for you in the past and I'm sure you'll drop that 8 lbs.  I sit all day at work too and it's hard to lose with all that inactivity.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys I'm not giving up even though it has been a trying week.  A bunch of kids when rampant in our otherwise quiet neighborhood Monday night and did a lot of vandalism.  Mine is purple spray paint on my yard sign, yard light and brand new garage door.

lonestarpenny - I have nieces that live in Austin and San Antonio and I love to go and visit them.  I live in cold Wisconsin and so we are constantly weighing the advantages of heat and cold, rain and drought.

When I retire I'd like to live in Texas for the winter, Wisconsin in the summer.

I always wanted to be one of those people who couldn't eat when stressed - oh well!

Good luck with the flood!

Sorry to hear you are having flooding issues - we had that last year and now we are in the midst of a drought which I have to say I prefer, only cut my grass once last month.

I'm still fighting two battles on this weight loss struggle, one is eating when I'm upset which seems to be a common problem.  There other is binging when I eat one thing I shouldn't have.

Finally made 50 lbs. lost and then had a family party on Saturday and blew it.  Now I'm up 5 again.

Thank you for your encouragement.  I need to hear from people who have lost slow but steady.  Too many posters lose 10 lbs. a month.  I use to be able to do that but no more.

When I first started on the site I calculated how many calories I should eat to reach my goal by 2010 and it said 1800.  I tried that for a week and gained 5 lbs.  Since then I have stuck to between 1100 and 1300 and have lost 49 lbs but as I indicated in my last post have been stuck again since March.  I'm afraid to up my calories too much because I don't want to gain.

Is it possible to eat 1,100 calories a day and not lose?  I'm doing it.  I went all of January and February without losing a pound but when I did start to lose again I lost 10 lbs. fairly quickly.  Now I've been stuck again since the end of March.  I upped my exercise, cut to 1,100 calories a day, have tried upping my calories a bit on the weekend when I'm more active.  Nothing.  I have 100 lbs to lose yet so it's not like I'm on my last 10 lbs.  I'm very frustrated.

I can relate to the 250 lb limit.  I've been wanting to buy a ladder and couldn't find one with a weight limit over 250.

I'm 247 now (down 49) lbs. after 8 months.  I used to be able to lose 15 lbs a month, once lost 35 lbs. in 6 weeks.

Many of you have mentioned a cleanse.  Can you tell me more about that?

Hi everyone!  Well, I survived the long weekend.  And actually got back to below 250 (249.8), but below is below, so I'll take it.

We are going on vacation next week and I really, really would like to be at 245.  The reason is where we are going, they have horseback riding, but the weight limit is 250 pounds.  I want to be at least 5 under (like they'll be able to look at me and tell).  Either way, the poor horse will not be happy, but it shouldn't be too bad, right?

Jodi, don't worry, I'm sure you'll bounce back to pre-holiday weight quickly.

Hope everyone is doing great.

Gracie

I started out at 296 on 9/28/09 and am currently at 250.  I was at 263 at Christmas and didn't lose anything in January or February but stuck to it.  My original goal was to lose 50 lbs the first year so I am well on my way to achieving that but I'm losing motivation.  Even though I've lost 46 lbs, I have so much to lose that no one really notices and when I look in the mirror I still look horrible.
