Health & Support weight gain on meds Oct 31 2008

I went to my doc practically in tears with this query and he told me that they were just covering themselves and that the possibility of weight gain was only slightly more than on other anti-depressants. I think he might have been lying, though, TBH, because I obviously don't have a real weight problem in the first place. Plus, I Googled "Zispin and weight gain" and found some horror stories - and it said so on Wikipedia. Haha, I'm a doctor's worst nigtmare! I don't know if that's helpful. Like gi-jane said, how you respond to a medication is a very individual thing so you'd be better off talking to whoever prescribed it or a pharmacist - or just waiting and seeing.

Weight Loss Difference in Scales Oct 26 2008

I think scales are most useful for seeing change over time rather than knowing your exact weight. Weigh 139 if you like! It might be an idea to get weighed at the doctor's to give you an idea of how accurate your own scales are, though, if you're that bothered.

You're ill and you need help. If you don't go to the doctors yourself, I'd be willing to bet on you finding yourself in hospital - and not in the distant future. This is a serious situation - a matter of life and death and not just what your nan will say to you about your weight or your homework. You will be jeopardising everything and letting yourself down by NOT seeking help, the reverse of what you say. No one here can give you what you need.

Your BMI is very, very low - dangerously so. You should absolutely go to the doctors as soon as possible, however scary that is for you. They will be able to give you the help you need to "do this properly", while people on this forum can't. You want your life back and your energy back, which is a good start, but, by the sound of it, I really don't think that you'll be able to do this on your own. I also think that you should talk to your mum about what's been going on. Good luck.
