Thanks.. I actually began this a week and a half ago.. and lost six pounds my first week.. I am trying to not make too much of a major change so as to keep myself from platauing.. you know? i have a long way to go.. i have been eating at about 2500 calories a day.. with out much more increased activity. I had been consuming quite a bit of pepsi prior to my start of my... life change.. (don't want to be on a diet) and have cut down to two a day. I am writing down everything i eat.. so there has not been a lot of binge eating.. but aparently it is still such a big change.. i think 15 will come off pretty quick.. but we will see.. thanks so much for caring and your advice.. really do appreciate any input i can get. I have been over 300 pounds for at least the last 19 years.. those are long hard habits to break.. |

Hi.. you know, being an overweight person for a while now, I have read alot of books about dieting and the one thing that makes the most sense is not to deny yourself the joys of your life whatever they are. Sounds like you are doing good. Anything in moderation, and if you are going to indulge in your weakness fine, but promise that for every serving you will walk around the block or do a video or something. I was reading a book called Diets don't work. and it talks about this very thing. that if you have a taste for ice cream and don't eat it. you will generally eat five other things to try and fill that void and you are not doing yourself any service by that. You are on this site so keeping track of your calories. I find success in writing down what i eat then entering it in. and just stay under the calories you are supposed to.. increase activity. good luck.. You know one more point. I don't think anyone here wants to lose weight for a year and gain it all back. So we all need to be changing our habits, making habits we can live with. You know maybe because you are sort of making this "forbidden" is why it is consuming you so. You know what I mean. Embrace it. make the ice cream part of your diet just figure it in. You could stop eating it now and then when you start up you will gain back your weight. If you can look at it as the source of your calcium eat up. Maybe you won't want it so much. just a little mental game |
