It must be a guy thing, my Partner changes his socks about three times a day, and has about 100 pairs. He has work socks, ankle socks, baseball socks, hockey socks... and he always buys new socks when he goes out shopping.

I respect your right to say merry christmas, happy channakah, happy kwanzaa, happy winter solstice, god bless you, gezundheit, salut, whatever. Though I don't speak german and am not wiccan, I am not in any way offended by gestures of kindness, because I appreciate them for what they are: sentiments of good will.

edit: Or in other words, I appreciate the substance regardless of the form.

I agree, You should be allowed to say whatever you want- its all meaning one thing, good wishes on the holiday season. I appreciate when anyone tells me Happy Channakah, Merry Christmas, Joyous whatever, because they are just wishing me well.

To build upon what Ali said, I find it incredulous how ignorant so many Christians are about their own faith. There was a poster a couple of pages back that didn't know the Catholic church was Christian. Didn't know the history of how her own religion came into being.

In all fairness, nobody needs to know the whole history of Christianity to have a relationship with God.

Thanks.... And actually I do go to church, and we learned the we came from the Jewish Religon.... Does it make me less of a christain because i dont know the supposed "history" of the religion? does it make me love god or anyone any less?

From an historical point Christians have not been subjected to anywhere near the amount of violent and cruel treatment that they have committed against others. The first Christians in the first few centuries after Christianity were indeed subject to persecution.

After Christianity became the dominant religion and spread throughout Europe the Christians gave back far more persecution against other peoples and religions than they endured.

One of the main reasons why Christians are subect to persecution and torture in this day and age is because they put themselves in those positions. They invaded other lands and set up shop and then they went about spreading their religion. Then they ended up being the minority religion and wonder why they're being prosecuted. Stupid if you ask me.

agreed that some christains are doing the wrong thing, but that is really putting a generalization (sp) on an entire religion?  i dont try to force anyone on my beliefs and i have alot of christain friends that feel the same way i do. Its ok to say your opinion, but im offended that you group all christains...when im not like that. what do you think?

Jennifer- I am sorry that you have those experiences growing up- my family was christain, but they always taught me to do what  i thought was right. They dont have the same beleifs as i do, but they respect it, and even in my church we have fun, we sing, we love. They never judge my pro choice or pro gay thoughts.

I think it really depends also what TYPE of christain you are. I pray at least twice a day- but only when i want to, i dont feel that i HAVE to do anything. i do what i do because it makes me feel good and i think its right.

I understand how you can have those feelings, and i understand that alot of "by the book people" would think im going to hell, but i think you can only do whats the best by YOU.  who else are you living for? I feel like im rambling now but i just have so many thoughts that its hard to get out. I do really understand where you are coming from though, i went through that point as well, and i had to find where i needed to be, which for ME (personally) was to have some sort of belief in something.

Im sorry i didnt get through all the posts so i dont know if anyone has said this:
I am a Christian, and I  never had any problem with being such until recently. I never tell anyone I am unless they ask or its part of the conversation because i feel its rude to talk about it otherwise as someone could get offended. I love my God, but i dont follow every **** word! (ahhhaaa...just broke a comandment) Im a bit of a hypocrite, I have a live in boyfriend, i drink, i smoke, I am pro choice, and pro whatever the hell sexuality you want to be. But I think that what i take from my religion is the over all being nice to one another. There is a way to have religion in your life and not be a (insert word here). I respect that alot of people dont think there is a God, but some people need that comfort in knowing there is something after death, there is something greater than them, sometimes I question my faith, but it has always helped me in my darkest times.... BUT THE POINT OF WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS: I think that it is sad that there is so much emphasis on religion, people should be allowed to beleive what they want and follow what they want, If you say that religion is Bad and whatever else, then you are just as bad as the people that are saying Being gay is wrong or that Pro Choice is wrong.

Ps- i agree that the in your face christains need to be put in their place. its not their right to  tell you what to beleive.

wow, i'm so glad i don't believe in a god that dislikes Halloween!

that is a little ignorant dont you think? Maybe if you knew the reasons you wouldnt be so quick to jump the gun. You should never say anything negative about anyones religion or beliefs. We still have fun in Fall, Harvest Parties and Feast Celebrating our families and love, instead of the pagan rituals, which i think are very intresting and deserve respect, just like I deserve respect for what i think is right.

Hi there! Well Im an estheticain on the weekends, and when i went to school this is what we learned : (removing this DIRECTLY from my text book Milady's Standard of Cosmetology)

Corrugations: caused by uneven growth of the nails, usually the result of injury or illness. Carefully buff the nails and apply a nail filler.

Furrows : the can run either lengthwas or across the nail. these are usually the result from illness, injury or pregnancy, or even stress. Some Ridges are Normal is adult Nails and increase with age. However some Ridges can be caused by psoriasis, poor circulation and frostbite.

I hope this helps you, this was all that was said about ridges. I have slight ridges in my nails too, i just buff it out and apply a thick base coat before the polish.

i love air fresheners.... does this mean im stank??? :(..... Actually i live on my own in an apartment building that allows smoking, and i dont want that smell in my place so i try to cover up the smoke smell.... plus i have alot of animals and the male animals urine is really strong, no matter how many times a week i clean their wood chips. but i find the febreeze ones are really nice if you put them on low.... and i use the febreeze on my fabrics cuz my cat sleeps on everything and it gets stinky, and i dont want to be constantly washing my couch.

you could also get some multi-grain wraps or flat breads and put a little sandwhich meat wit maybe some red peppers and hummus. Its really yummy and you can make your own hummus and freeze it in portions so it dosnt go bad, Buy in bulk and portion everything, thats what i do and i save loads of money on my grocery bill. Sometimes ill make veggie whole wheat lasanga and portion it out in the freeze and its like my own little microwave dinner when im in a rush- plus it will save you money by cooking large portions.

The Lounge beginning to think there's more smokers than non-smokers Oct 07 2008

I am a Smoker and I think that its a choice. Perosonally, If i am around people and i want to have a smoke, i will ask if it is ok with that person, and go to an area where it wont be in their face, I also refuse to smoke around children, they are impressionable, and its not right to subject them to that. I never throw my butts on the ground, I snuff it out and put it in the garbage, or an ash tray. Even though i smoke, i hate walking behind people that smoke, its gross to smell that as you are outside. I do not get offended by non smokers, its their right to not want second hand smoke in their lungs, and who really wants trash all over the streets anyway?

I think that the smokers that are doing the bad things should stop and think why its their right to pollute other peoples lungs and ruin their streets with grabage.

as for Marijuna, Its Also a choice and should only be done in privacy of your home. I suffer from anxiety and depression and when im having an attack sometimes its just relaxing. Its not for everyone and it should be legalized because then it wont be such a hot commodity. There should be an age limit for it, just like cigarettes however and monitored, with laws like no driving under the influence and not in public, just like drinking. Drinking is more harmfull that Marijuana and it always baffeled me as to why its legal as pot is not.

So I am being no help here. But when you have time could you maybe help me? haha. I have been thinking about going to school to be a vet tech and want to know how it is. I am not sure if you are one but if you work at the clinic I assume you know alot about it! I would really appreciate if you messaged me a little about your experience or just replied in here!

Well I acually am going to school soon for tech. Im an ACA right now and i would reccomend working in a vet clinic first as an ACA or receptionist to find out if its right for you, plus you can learn things before being thrown into the school aspect. I get to try out alot of tech stuff like veni puncture, radiographs, urinalyis, intestinal ova and parasite test fiv fip tests monitoring anesthetic inductions and stable Sx patients, Proper medication use such as transdermals and oral meds, and force feeding. I would be LOST at school without knowing this stuff first. So good luck, huge demand for animals care workers right now! how are you with Sx is another thing to consider, so trying watching some gross ones first, at the clinc i work at now we play, how much would you eat that for  after Sx.
