Are you regularly gaining on 3000 calories? If you are not gaining at least 1 pound every week, you need to increase your calories by 500. Any less than 500 may be too slow. You are doing a great job - 3000 calories every day is a fantastic effort. Sorry to hear that you are still not feeling your best, but your hair will stop falling out once you gain to a BMI of 20. A BMI of 20 gives your body a chance to repair itself on the inside. I am not sure if your goal weight is a BMI of 20, use the BMI  under the ‘tools’ section of this website to see what a BMI of 20 is for your height.

Good luck, you are doing a great job on 3000 calories, if you have been able to do that every day, then I am sure you have what it takes to increase by 500 calories. Give it about two weeks to see if you are gaining real weight. I am not an expert, but I do know that experts recommend about 3000 to gain, therefore if you are not gaining fast enough, 500 calories is a good jump (not too little, but not too much)

You know you need to gain any way, so look at the extra calories as an opportunity. Sure, it is not healthy to over do it EVERY day, because it is not a good habit to get in to once you reach a healthy weight.  However, if you have truly accepted the fact that you need to gain weight, then you will stop compensating for the days when you do eat extra calories. People who do not need to gain weight and have not had eating disorders can reduce their calories the following day after they over eat; it is okay for such people to exercise a little extra, and to eat less to burn off extra calories. Because you are not in this position, you need to use occasions when you eat extra as just another opportunity to gain. People in active recovery do not restrict to compensate for days when they over eat.

Are you serious about recovering? if you are, then when you eat extra calories, DO NOT restrict the following day. get serious about gaining weight. You need to gain, so you must not try to compensate for extra calories. Instead, the best thing you can do is to go back to eating regular, balanced meals that give you enough calories to gain. It is better to gain through regular, normal and balanced meals, but it is normal and healthy to over eat on occasions such as birthdays.

3500 extra calories = one pound, so your 3000 extra calories can easily be burnt of by taking realistic steps. Burning an extra 200 calories a day for two weeks, or eating about 200 less calories a day combined with burning an extra 200 calories each day for about one week, will burn off 3000 extra calories.

Although restricting calories is not usually recommended, if you are at a healthy weight than I do not see the harm in cutting back no more than 200 calories for about two weeks. No more than 200 calories though, because it will feel like restriction.

Physically you can get back on track and burn those extra calories without having to kill yourself at the gym. You can burn them off in simple, easy steps that do not make you feel deprived. However, it is not just the physical reasons you need to consider. It is interesting that you binged, in spite of the fact that you do not deprive yourself of your “ treat” foods.

A reason that could have contributed to your binge could be the balance in your diet. You may be eating too many simple carbohydrates and thus not leave room for enough proteins. Proteins fill you up, where as too many carbohydrates and not enough proteins can make it easier for people to binge.

It is hard to tell the psychological reasons that could have contributed to your binge, and you have not mentioned any emotion that you feel could have made you do it. Therefore, controlling what is available in your house may be a viable method. You can still have your favorite foods around, but perhaps having less of them will help. This has helped me, because I sometimes over eat just because I am bored. Therefore, I only keep enough for one or two days, so even if I do over eat, I do not have enough food to over do it on.

You really do sound miserable. Look, I have similar stats to you, and I have been in a similar position to you. I was doing weights a couple of days a week, and doing an hour of aerobics several days every week, and I was only eating about 1600 calories. Throughout this time, I started to binge eat.  It is to be expected, and you will continue to binge until you either eat more, or gain weight. Use the tools on this website to estimate what a person of your age/height/weight needs to eat, and use it as a MINIMUM: make sure you eat at least this recommended amount, and then eat more if you feel hungry.

Okay, from my own personal experience, having anxiety related issues or depression, combined with being at a slimmer than average weight, can cause over eating, emotional eating, and binging.  Even a BMI of 18.5 - 20 can be enough to trigger a persons body to over eat. Your depression and anxiety are enough on their own to trigger over eating. In addition to this, being at your slim weight could also be slightly too low for your body, which would cause over eating. Therefore, your anxiety and depression combined with you being a little too thin will make over eating even more likely.

Personally, I had a similar BMI to you and I also suffer from anxiety and emotional triggers that can cause over eating. I gained a little weight and ate a little more and the urge to over eat dissipated.

SUPERWORMS -   carbs and fruit also do not fill me up as much as foods such as nuts and proteins, therefore I feel more satisfied and less hungry when I eat more of them. However, it is not sensible to recommend that the OP, who is at a low weight, to cut out all grains and sugars too. Even if such diets have worked for us, it is not helpful for us to advocate it to other people. Restricting things can cause imbalances in some people, which could cause over eating.

Also, being thin and attractive can get you places in some respects; certain people treat you better, and models like Kate’s  livelihoods have always depended on how they look. Therefore, being thin has got certain people a lot in life. Unfortunately, such people overlook the more important aspects of life that they should be deriving their happy ness from. If their looks were taken away, they would not have the tools to enjoy their life without being thin. It is the same with Paris Hilton and very rich people. Because they literally buy  several thousands of dollars worth of clothes when they want to feel good, they lack to ability to be happy in normal, non material ways.

This has happened to me. I have tried a raw vegan food diet a while ago and I ate an enormous amount of an orange fruit called a tangelo - I am in Australia but in the US I believe it is called a Clementine.

Although I love baked sweet potato and at times I eat a large amount, my skin has never turned orange that I could notice. If it did it was not enough for me to notice.

Are you sure that these girls eat 18 doughnuts? The way I see it, is that smaller people need smaller amounts of calories. Eating a few doughnuts a day does not mean they eat a large total amount of calories - maybe the ice cream and pizza they eat while they are out during the day is all they eat? For instance, a person of  5 ‘ 10 and 100 - 115 lbs still needs about 1800 calories sedentary to maintain…. With a normal metabolism. Therefore, such a person could eat a few doughnuts or slices of pizza, without exceeding that calorie limit. Therefore, tall and very thin people in this position may look as though they can eat more than the average person to maintain there weight, when they actually eat a normal amount to maintain a smaller weight.

Personally, have seen a few skinny women who do tend to eat  fast food and etc, but that do not eat regular, healthy, and proper meals. The Fast food they do eat does not necessarily add up to as many calories as regular, healthy meals do.

I am also interested in the what is attainable for different body types. To even be a proper model, you have to be born tall, and with a small frame. Models simply have smaller bones - a smaller structure. In addition to having a smaller body, some models also eat right and exercise on top of this. Not only are most models born small, but they also work at it, too.Although, the extremely tall and thin models who are absolutely tiny that walk the catwalks (90 lbs and 6 feet type tiny), are hired for their child size thinness because it best displays the clothes, and would not need to work out. In fact, their tiny body types and size would not have the capacity to gain muscle as easily as a normal person.

Another factor that has been mentioned is that models must have a fast metabolism. I am not en expert, but I am not sure if their metabolism is faster than a normal person. There are slight variations in metabolism, but for the most part I think that only increasing your lean muscle mass through weight bearing exercise can increase the speed of your metabolism. Because tall thin models have naturally smaller bodies, perhaps their bodies simply need less calories. If their bodies are naturally smaller, they may need less calories, therefore if they DID eat a lot they might gain weight just as easily as the average person.Although some tall and thin people may simply need less calories than the average person because they have smaller bodies that need less energy, there are of course people with elevated metabolism’s, for instance an elevated thyroid, or medical problems that result in extremely tall and thin people unable to gain or maintain their weight, despite eating abnormally large amounts of calories.

In addition to this, models are also born with perfect bone structures and symmetrical and attractive faces. Psychologically, such people may feel more comfortable eating foods like pizza, because they have always had a perfect face regardless of their food choices. Basically, when the pressure is off a person, it is much easier to eat what you want, when you want it. Models are under enormous pressure in the industry, but they can still get away with eating a less than clean diet, and still having gorgeous faces.

The scary thing for me about restoring my weight, is maintaining. Even though I have not restricted in a long time, I still rarely feel physical hunger, not unless I leave many hours between meal. My goal is to eat intuitively, although it is hard to do this when I cannot only rely on physical feelings in my stomach. Therefore, I have a couple of ways that I use that help me determine what my needs are:

A while a go, I started to log my food in. After a while, I was able to estimate my calories without using the calculator. Using the recommendations as the MINIMUM amount has really helped me. A lot of people get really busy and do not eat the recommended amount of calories, which can add up and cause them to feel extra hungry the next day to compensate. Therefore, eating less than the guidelines will slow your metabolism and cause you to over eat or binge the following day.

The guidelines have given me the knowledge to ensure that I always eat the recommended amount as a minimum, no matter how busy I am. This has kept my metabolism working really efficiently. Furthermore, the guidelines also help stop you from going too over the top; by only using the recommendations as a guide, you can allow yourself a sensible amount of extra calories. Using common sense, your body may need a little more than the guidelines estimate. However, if you find you need MUCH more, than it is likely that it is the because you OVER estimate the amount of calories that you eat, or that your diet is unbalanced which can cause your body to feel hungry for specific foods.

GOATS CHEESE is the BEST!  Goats fetta is nice, but there is a place where I live that makes a soft, brie type goats cheese that REALLY nice!

Today I ate about 550 calories of goats cheese just because I felt like it. I was not hungry.

The disorders I am overcoming are to do with the all or nothing mentality such as either being orthorex ic, or eating a “ bad” food and then binging.

Lately I have challenged my ED’S by letting myself eat too much when I am not hungry, and not restricting as a result. I simply wait until I genuinely feel like food next, either when I feel hungry or when I know it is time to eat (as I do not feel hunger strongly so it is hard to tell when hungry)

It is normal to eat just because you feel like it at times, and I refuse to beat myself up over it any more.

The GREAT THING about my improved attitude, is that I never end up binging -  because I can let myself 500 calories of cheese or whatever, without feeling the need to keep going.

You poor thing -  It feels absolutely horrible to binge eat, but there are ways to stop this destructive way of eating. Firstly, you need to try to understand why you binge. What is your relationships with food like? Did you have a healthy relationship with food before you started to binge eat? Are there any reasons that you feel has contributed to your binge eating?

Another factor which can help cause binge eating, is an unbalances and/ or a diet that is too low in calories. If you are not giving your body enough of the right foods, or if you are depriving your body of foods, then binge eating is often the result. On the days when you do not eat 10, 000 calories, do you eat enough?

What you are going through is truly awful. However, there is hope, because a lot of people, including myself, have been in your position and learnt how to find strategies that eliminate binge eating.  There is no immediate solution and the binge eating is not likely to stop immediately. You need to work hard and persist until you find the underlying causes of your binge eating. How do you feel during a binge? Are there things that usually trigger it? Next time you feel like binging, stop and try to feel your feelings, rather than use food.

Good luck, there are a lot of people who suffer from this awful problem here who can offer you support and advice.

I do not think people eating chocolate cake have to pitty people eating strawberries. A major factor in the long term success of slim people, such as myself, is that we learn to actually enjoy unprocessed natural foods. Although I do enjoy expensive high fat cheese and dark chocolate occasionally, I have eliminated most artificial, fast, and processed foods from my diet, therefore my body does not crave chocolate cake like crazy.

There are so many healthy choices you that actually do taste good, too. For instance, if your friends order pizza, order a small vegetarian pizza with thin crust and no or ½ the cheese, only have 2 slices and save the rest for the next day. To be successful you need to develop habits that  you enjoy enough to sustain, and learning to enjoy eating healthier, without feeling deprived, is important.

The way people react to your eating habits could be a because of cultural or social expectations, or because of the way your friends feel in relation to their own bodies and eating habits.  Firstly, it is a very common thing for young people your age to eat take away foods when you are shopping or hanging out. Your friends may feel threatened if you are able to enjoy normal activities without the need to eat bad food. Because your friends never do certain activities without bad food themselves, you may make them feel bad if you are able to enjoy yourself without the food.

Another problem that often arises when a young women decides to break an unhealthy habit, is the fact that it forces your friends to think about their own habits.  I think that a lot of people want to change their own unhealthy habits, but cannot see the point, because they believe that they have to starve themselves and go through pain and suffering to look good. As a result, they do not bother.

Ultimately, it is only food. The normal thing to do, is to eat in a way that is right for you. Tell your friends that eating less fast food with them, and eating healthier is what makes you feel happier, and that you would like them to support you in being happy. Finally, remember that it is perfectly healthy to have fast food with your friends occasionally, as long as you eat healthier most of the time.

Some people like being skinny. It is a personal preference. An opinion.  Some people simply like the way very thin people look. However, the pain and suffering that maintaining a weigh that is too low for your body will ‘outweigh’ the benefits of being as ‘skinny’ as you want to be. Being able to live a normal and healthy life feels better than ‘ skinny’ feels. Trust me, it is not possible to enjoy being skinny if it stops you from having friends, performing well at school or your job, and basically holds you back from achieving your potentials in life.

Weight Loss oprah's weight Nov 20 2009

Having all the money in the world cannot buy you the tools needed for achieving your ideal body.

Trust me, having everything you need does not mean you will follow through with the right actions all the time.

In fact, it could even lead some people, such as Oprah, to feel bad for having normal feelings and urges for junk food, because they feel that they have no excuse due to the money and access they have. Moreover,  there are so many psychological reasons why people make food and fitness related decisions, and no amount of money or trainers can fix these issues that can cause people to over eat. In addition to all this, Oprah is constantly around celebrities and models who are very thin and attractive, and this could also impact on her attitude towards her body, which in turn influences her ability to eat right and exercise.

And LOL! - about her gaining weight to keep rating!?  She may use it as a subject to connect to women, but I think that she thinks highly enough of herself to realize that she has more to offer her audience than the story of her weight battles. Personally, I find her a personable and enjoyable person to watch.

Young Calorie Counters media ruining women... Nov 16 2009

That could be true, but another theory that I have recently read about, is that males are also attracted to the fragile nature of very thin women, because it makes them feel more powerful. I have heard a lot of women say that when they become shockingly thin, they were upset to discover that there were quiet a lot of men who actually like very thin women.

Thinness is not the only the criteria for 'perfection' that the media projects all models and actresses that are well known and rich enough to be famous have perfect teeth and great skin (or it is made up if it is not naturally very good).

Personally, I do find the perfect white teeth and nice hair and skin more attractive than bad skin and normal teeth. However, we all know that who a person is on the inside is more important than looks. Unfortunately, who a person is on the inside cannot be shown through media images and on magazine covers, so the images that are visible are the ones that are reinforced.

On a funny note - did any one watch that stupid reality show called true beauty? It was an American show that was shown here in Australia, that Vanessa Millano girl was the host. Basically, some of the people on it were such idiots, that I actually felt sorry for them. Looks will not buy them the tools to have a great life -  no person who is worthwhile would be able to be close with such an idiot, if they cannot even have a conversation with them lol.

Young Calorie Counters media ruining women... Nov 15 2009

It is a matter of accepting reality. You will never have a body like a super model. Some people think these women have more attractive bodies than normal people do. Deal with it.

Once you accept this, then you can learn to accept that you  can achieve the best version of your own body. It is better than not trying. Also, you need to realize that it is possible to be just as happy and to have a life that is just as good as a women who is thinner than you.

It is hard to look at magazine images and to accept that you will never look like that. I personally prefer a thinner body. I think it looks better. However, it is only looks, and I have learnt that not looking like a model does not have to hold me back in life. So, I am a person who likes the way a model looks more than the way normal people look, yet I am now able to look at models in magazines, and actually enjoy their beauty. It does not make me feel bad any more, because I refuse to believe that you have to look like a model to have a life that is as good as theirs.

The media has put a thin image out there, but it is not the medias fault that people prefer the way these models look. If enough people did not like the way models looked in the first place, the media would not be able to force people to like an image that they were not already predisposed to liking.

Foods Should I eat lunch or not?? Nov 15 2009
10:32 (UTC)
1

I do not think  it is worth dieting if you cannot allow yourself to have one small piece of cake. What is the point?  To be successful, you need to learn that you can easily fit the foods that you truly crave, such as chocolate cake, into your calorie allowance without it making any difference to your body.  I would save room for a 250 - 400 calorie small piece of cake, considering it is home made with love by your sister!

Not only should you have a small amount of cake, but you also need to learn that it is okay to eat when you are hungry, no matter what event or situation you will be in later that day. If you normally eat lunch at 12 and if you feel best if you eat regularly, than I would not deliberately try to not eat. Instead, I would still eat when you felt like it, however, to save room for the luncheon, you could cut back on your usual lunch. For example, instead of a sandwich, have half of it. Or, pack a lighter salad instead.

It is actually  better when people do have a snack just before a gathering or special event that involves fattening foods. Having a few carrot sticks, almonds, a glass of milk, or anything of you choosing, will mean that you will not arrive hungry, and therefore you will be able to control yourself around the food. It is more likely you will be satisfied with a small bit of cake!

I hope you realize that you can achieve your goals and still eat your favorite foods - especially at a special even where there is home made cake! These are the times what it is okay to enjoy treats. You will feel resentful if you constantly make yourself resist treats, when there really is no need to deprive yourself.

Foods What is your favorite healthy/ low-cal dessert? Nov 15 2009

My deserts and treats are calorie dense, but they are much healthier than the low cal diet products. Most people can fit 3 tablespoons of peanut butter or almond butter into their calorie allowance, depending on how much they can eat.

I love peanut butter or almond butter, just a few tablespoons on their own, OR spread on apple or pear slices.  Also, if you are vegan, than it taste really nice to dip strawberries in coconut cream. No salt or additives, just natural ingredients.

And YUM - that canned pumpkin idea sounds really nice!!!!!!!       &nb sp;  A healthy desert type snack I like that is similar, is to bake a sweet potato in its skin until its skin is bubbling -  it tastes really sweet.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg,  low fat yoghurt would also taste nice with it.

Foods For those who eat clean... Nov 14 2009
05:50 (UTC)

To eat clean you need to learn to read ingredients.  Processed foods can be clean, if they do not contain any preservatives or man made chemicals. Or example, canned beans are clean if the only ingredients are beans, salt, and water. Another example is tinned tuna or salmon, these are clean if the only ingredients are the fish, salt, and water. Smoked salmon is also clean as far in my opinion, because the only ingredients are wood smoke, salt, and salmon.

Things like veggie burgers or patties can be clean if they contain: vegetables, salt, grains, spices, and oil. Any ingredients other than these things, is probably artificial or man made. For example, thickener, emulsifiers, food acid, preservatives, and added colors. I eat clean, but I allow myself to have certain non clean foods occasionally. I eat fresh whole foods most of the time, but if I truly love a food that is not considered clean I will have it occasionally, for example, I do love certain vegetable burgers that have fillers and man made ingredients.  A long term diet is not sustainable if you deprive yourself of certain things that you love.

Basically, I eat clean most of the time, but I do have non clean foods occasionally such as vegetable burgers, and it makes no physical difference. However, it is actually cheaper to make your own burgers, plus you can put exactly what you want into them so they are more likely to taste better than processed ones. They can be quick and easy to make, and to save time you can make them in large batches and freeze the rest of later.

Weight Loss Fifteen hundred... Nov 13 2009

I can 100% guarantee that 200 extra calories will not make ANY difference. NONE. It will not add a single ounce of weight to your appearance.  However, 200 extra calories too often will result in weight gain over time. Because it is a one off occasion you have NOTHING to worry about. Go out to dinner and eat what you want, you will only feel resentful if you have to force yourself to eat salad and watch every one else eat foods that you crave.  In fact, denying yourself from having the foods you truly crave when you truly feel like them makes people feel angry and  you will definitely rebel against your own rules if they are too strict, and binge or over eat on the forbidden foods.  A perfect body is not worth it if you have to deny yourself of everything you feel like. Definitely do not ever punish your body, OR restrict calories if you eat too much; even if it is 1000 extra calories, mentally, it is a form of punishment.

Instead of feeling like you have to cut back on calories when you eat extra, remember that you need to eat healthily and exercise to look and feel your best in the first place, so you do not have to force yourself to do anything out of the ordinary. The only extra thing you need to do to burn off extra calorie is to do an extra work out for a few days. People are also far more likely to burn extra calories off if they burn them off gradually, no more than 500 per day.

Health & Support Emotional hunger vs actual hunger Nov 12 2009

I am at the lower end of healthy, and I do not experience intense physical hunger. This tells me that my body does not need to gain extra weight. However, because you only just stopped gaining, your body may not have calmed down yet, and it may still be exited that you are feeding it properly. I am no expert, but maybe your hunger will calm down, and it may just take a while after you restore your healthy weight.

Another possibility is that you may stand to gain a little more. In addition to these possibilities, it is also normal to get anxious and uncertain about the calories you eat after you initially reach a healthy weight range. You have been gaining, so now that you are not sure that you still need to, you may not know how to handle eating ‘ normally”. I certainly didn’t for some time after reaching a healthy weight.  The anxious feeling made me want to eat.

Health & Support Silly Food Craving Question Nov 12 2009

I had not heard of nuts causing constipation - although not enough fiber can cause it. I think that trail mix is actually an ideal afternoon snack - especially when you are gaining, as it gives you easy calories. The dried fruit and nuts are high in fiber, too. However, it is good to try different snacks;  what I do, is I make my own trail mix and cookies that are made from nuts and dried fruit; that way, I can use different dried fruits and different nuts each time, to keep it interesting.  It is actually cheaper to make your own trail mix, as dried fruit and nuts are cheaper to buy in larger amounts. You just throw your choice of nuts and dried fruit together. Taste great, cheap, and healthier for you than packaged trail mix as it does not have added sugar and stuff.

In regards to my weight, my current BMI of about 19 is healthy for me, so I am not actively gaining. There is no medical reason for me to. I gained to a BMI of 20 years ago but slipped to this weight through eating and exercising normally, and see no reason to actively try to gain any weight back.

Health & Support Silly Food Craving Question Nov 11 2009

I think I just added more food in general lol! It is hazy and I cannot remember exactly. Ultimately, all my cravings went away once I reached a healthier weight and ate an adequate amount of fats, proteins, and carbs.

Peanut butter, dried fruit, and trail mix are all calorie dense foods that your body would associate with nourishment, so it makes sense to me that it would be the type of food that your body could crave when it is wanting to gain weight. Once your body stops needing extra calories in general, you may still crave trail mix, but there is a difference between a physical craving, and a craving that is purely for the taste.

I still crave the taste of peanut butter at times, but it is very different to when my body craved the dense food for its calories, when I needed to gain.

Foods funny food days Nov 11 2009

I also used to have a structure too! But now, I just eat when I need to and try to do what feels best on the day. Some people thrive on having a healthy plan to follow, however, I am recovering from eating disorders, therefore I try to think about food as little as possible. In the past, I would have a set routine where I would need to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a certain number of snacks because it felt balanced and in control. Unfortunately, it only lead to thinking and planning what I was going to eat, so instead of sticking to a set plan each day, I have learnt to trust myself to make good decisions without planning in advance.

In spite of not planning my food, I still know the foods I usually eat and I have all my favorite treats around should I feel like one, so in that sense I do plan and have control over what I eat. The difference now, is that I do not care what time I eat or how many meals and snacks.

A funny food day for you is deviating from your normal schedule, where as for me, it is when I decide to have a few extra tablespoons of peanut butter as a snack, instead of having my usual lunch.

Calorie Count extra calories Nov 11 2009
03:10 (UTC)

I know that 500 calories adds up over time, but I am wondering what happens  if over the space of one year, a person over eats 500 - 1000 extra calories than their body needed;  does the body store every last bit of the extra 500 calories as 0.0000987868  of a pound?

I am interested in to know if the body is 100% accurate in terms of the extra calories it burns or stores. Over 12 months, if a person only eats 500 extra calories on ONE given day, and eats within their limits every other day,  then I wonder if the body COSNDIDERS that tiny amount of extra? It just sounds like such an insignificant amount, that I wonder if the  body does bother storing 1/100000000000th of a pound...

I plan to do food science at Uni next year or the year after, so hopefully I will learn the exact science of it lol, and how accurate the body is in this respect.

Emma - Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted to here haha - it is nice to know that I am not the only one who can eat the same thing all day!  I also added some normal things in to,  but like you said, the bulk of my calories were from those darned cookies.  The soup sounds REALLY NICE too…  sounds like something I could easily eat for all my meals haha.

There are certain foods I like so much that I could easily eat for all my meals in a day, if I wanted to. Usually though, when I have LET myself do this in the past, I end up getting sick of the food. For example,  I had a peanut butter obsession at once stage, so I told myself   “ FINE, eat as MANY of your calories from peanut butter as you like, but just for a day, to get it out of your system”.  The peanut butter never tasted “bad”, however, it definitely did not taste as good after eating it for most of my calories. Needles to say, I do not do this any more. The times I eat the same food all day are accidental, like today.

Skippinggirlyvinegar -    your day actually looks pretty balanced to me compared to what mine was haha.    You did not eat a large amount of any particular thing -  you snacked, but had balanced, reasonably sized snacks, which looked fairly normal to me.  I sometimes eat like that, when I have regular smaller snacks, such as hummus with carrots or yoghurt with berries,  rather than have a large 3 meals.  Well done on your food choices, you made such healthy choices and you ended up having a great variety of some really healthy foods!   A lot of other people studying to not have the same commitment to their food plan!   Is there a particular reason why you dislike eating this way?  Because you actually ate exceptionally healthy.

Baby_angel_love - natural peanut butter is a fave snack of mine. I like the idea of baking my own things, because I change the recipe and so it adds variety to my snacks. It is important for me to keep things interesting;  smoked salmon one day, goats cheese another, raw chocolate or peanut butter another day, and home made cookies another time. These are all fave treats of mine.  However, I do not usually ONLY eat cookies all day, like I did today.

Loved reading the responses, but it did  make my day look pretty bad haha - because my version of a funny food day is usually to have a large amount of a particular food, in the place of other foods. So far, you  guys have both shown normal structures days/ meals/ snacks.

Come on, there must be another person who has done what I did today?

Perhaps when you reach your bodies “ happiest” weight, the need for the calories will dissipate therefore any craving you get may also fade. Other than that, needing slightly more protein or fat  are the MAIN reasons why people crave peanut butter or trail mix w/ lots of nuts.  That was the case with me - so I added more fats and protein, and at the same time I gained a little, and the cravings for peanut butter went away.
