hi All, Posting after a vry long time... because i kind of hit a pleateu and was not gaining at all even at 3000Cals a day. I was at 110.4 for arnd 2 weeks without any gain and this week hav gained arnd 2lbs. I started including protien shakes in my diet. Height - 5'5" Lowest weight - 100lbs Current weight - 112.2 lbs Goal weight - 122lbs

Hi All, Posting after a long time .. have been eating pretty much the same.. i manage to reach arnd 2500-2800 cals on a daily basis. I weighed y'day and my current weight is 109.2, have gained 7 pounds in arnd 35 days. :) It could be slow not sure but am happy with the gain. My initial target was 110, looks like i'll be able to reach that by next week. So am pushing myself to 120 now. I have a question for all - Though I gained over 7 pounds according to the scale, it is not showing up on my body. I still look skinny, my stomach is bit bloated but then doesn't show much there too. Did anyone face this? Or do you know when it'll start showing up?

hi All, Been very busy for 3 days, didn't get time to post here.. but hav been eating fairly well.. hitting arnd 2500 cal. Want to reach 3000 cal but it feels extremely difficult at the moment .. Food so far : Breakfast - Granola+Hot chocolate - 370 cal S - Boost - 360 cal Lunch - 1 cupRice+1/2 cup chick peas +some potatoes +1 cup yogurt - not sure how many cals.. cud be arnd 400 Feeling sort of low today..so not posting any replies now..

Hi All, I weighed today... and guess what.... i have gained 3 lbs :))))))))) 9th oct mybweight was 103.2 lb and today i weigh 106.4lb. Aussie - I go to gym twice a week. And more good news, today i reached 3070 cal :))) Food - B - Hot chocolate+protein shake = 560 S - protein bar - 240 Lunch - 1 cup rice with veggies and cheese - arnd 400 cal Granola bar - 150+180 Evening protein shake - 360 Orange juice - 110 Milk shake - 680 Dinner - 1 cup rice , 1/2 cup curd, potato fried in lots of oil.. am estimating 400 cal but cud be more Recipe for milk shake: 1 glass milk + 17 almonds+ 20-25 pistachio + 10 whole cashew + 2 tbsp peanut butter + 1 serving vanilla icecream Take care all :))

Hi All, Agru - Congrats on your job. Really happy for you. Ngemma - Welcome!!! What's your height? Not sure if you have already posted it. I guess you should try getting 2000cal minimum. I managed to reach 2890 cal y'day. Was feeling ok.. no stomache ache and stuff like that. I'm planning to increase to 3000 by next week. Hardest thing is to make sure I eat that much everyday. It feels really stressful. But am happy I'm increasing steadily. Planning to be on 3000cal from next week for a month or so and monitor the progess. Will go to gym today and also weigh myself. Last week i was at 103.2 lb. I hope i have atleast increased by 1 more lb :) I don't do much in the gym, just a bit of free weights, stretching .. the weights are to ensure muscle build. I drink a protein shake just after my Gym session so that muscle build and repair is fast. I also don't burn much calories and I eat back watever is lost. Food so far for today - B - the ususal milk shake+hot chocolate - 560 cal S - rite now having a protein bar - 240 cal Will post rest of the food and my weight in the night. Oh before I end, note for Spek - Hiiiiiii, please stop exercising , as agru and other people said, your body needs rest. probably after you gain arnd 5-10 lbs, you can start with light exercise as I do now. But I do only twice a week not daily. I get plenty of rest in my schedule. Take Care All!!!

Hi All, Managed to reach 2810cal y'day. But had gone to gym so not sure how many cals burnt. Will weigh my self on thursday, i don't feel any gain though. Diet for the day - B - boost,granola, hot choc - 750cal feeling full but want to eat a protein bar before lunch |

hi All, Sry didn't check the posts y'day.. feeling quite good today, no stomache ache or bloated feeling.. have been on 2500 cal for a week now i guess but can't see any significant increase so thinking may be i'll increase to 2750 cal.. Every time I think about increasing the cals, I get so charged, it's a huge challange for me to increase even if it's jus 250 cals :)) Diet so far - B - Boost, Protein bar - 650 S - hot chocolate - 230 L - cup of rice with pulses, onion, tomatoes and chips - 400 |

Hi, Thnx to all for replying me. Specially to lala for the timely advice. Well godd news is I did just that... kept eating and i feel a lot better now.. My food so far - B- 500 Apple - 80 L - 400 Icecream - 100 Juice - 110 Banana milk shake - 300 so far -1490 planning to have protein shake whihc wud come arnd 460cal and dinner - 400 , may be juice after dinner -110 So targetting 2460cal.. not bad i guess :)) Had lots of liquids because of the stomache ache... still not well but feeling better ... Hi All, Had been to the Gym y'day, did some 40 mins of exericise. Didn't feel tired :)) My trainer has targetted a weight gain of 10 lbs for me to start with. Y'day also my weight was at 103.2 lb. Will weigh my self after two weeks now. Have been on a diet of 2500 cal for 3 days now and planning to continue the same for 3 more weeks. I'm taking the energy drink 'BOOST' - strawberry flavour. It's very nice and 80z has abt 360 cals :)) Today so far - B - Hot choc+choc milk+ apricot raisin bar - 600cal Haven't had anything for Snacks and it's already 11.15 :(( Take care all.

Hi All, Today was not that good, I felt full and could not eat much. Itried hard and this is wat I ate from the morn B - hot choc, choc milk + 2 bananas - 600cal S - Apricot+raisin energy bar - 200cal L - Didn't eat much.. just some rice and boiled potato - arnd 300 cal S - Made a milk shake with vanilla icecream, milk, nuts and banana - arnd 600 cal D - planning to have rice - may be 400 and then i plan to hav juice -110 cal So 2200 cal.. well short of my 2500 cal target. But am having stomach ache and can't bring myself to eat more. Hopefully tomm is a better day. Take Care all.

hi All, I reached 2500 cals today :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) B - hot choc, choc milk, 2 bananas - arnd 600cals S - granola - 160 L - 1.5cup white rice, 1 cup curd and some veggies - arnd 400 cal S - Two granola and cup of nuts - 500 cals; Milk Shake - 500cal D - White rice, potato fried in lots of oil and curd - arnd 400 cal or more S - Juice - 110 cal Totally i think - 2670cal .. hurray........ :)) I liked the smoothie vry much, here is the recipe - Add two scoops of vanilla icecream, 1 banana, arnd 5 pitted dates and i cup vanilla yogurt, blend it well .... yummy smoothie is ready :))

hi All, I had my weight checked today. 103 lb from 102.2 lb arnd 1 week back which is very less. So i guess i need to increase my intake to 2500cal or may be even more than that. Had gone to gym today, had my first class. I found it extremely difficult to even do exercise for half hr but hopefully i'll get used to. not gng to post my food today..feeling vry tired .. take care all |

hi Slr, You can probably try doing yoga or basic stretching exercise so that all weight does not get to u'r stomach and gets distributed evenly. I hav planned to do restrictive training so that weight gain is significant and is distributed. keep eating, may be increase u'r intake to 2500 after a week or two. Best luck!!

Hi All, Weekend is always a mess, i sleep for long and don't eat as well. But y'day i made almond cake (well it's not exactly a cake) and ate it with vanilla icecream.. it was awesome :)))))))))) Recipe if u want: Soak 1 cup of almonds in water for 3 hrs, peel the skin and put it in a blender with some milk. Enough milk to soak the almonds completely. Blend it into a coarse mixture. In a Pan, add two tsp of butter, and this mixture, keep stirring when it comes to a boil, add two tsp of butter more and keep stirring. When it thickens u can remove from the oven. The cooking time is arnd 20-25 mins. It's very tasty and lots of calories tooooooo :))) Food today: Haven't had a grt start yet . got lots of work to do.. so jus had chock milk and two granola bars so far :(((( I'm gng to gym today to learn some strengthening exercise, also will weigh today. it's almost 2 weeks on a diet of 2000 cal, hoping for some gain.If not thinking to increase my cal to 2700. Hi Dana, I too have the same feeling, am feeling hungry almost all the time though i keep eating evry two hrs. It's bad at night, y'day i had my dinner at 8.30PM and snacks at 10PM. I was feeling hungry again by 11. I have observed as I eat more, increase my cal, I'm getting a lot more hungrier. But still at 2000 cal. Need to plan to increase to 2500. I'm already having protein drink and nuts. I'm a vegetarian so it's difficult to get lots of food with high cal. All, Food today: 6.30Am - Chocolate milk (200 cal) 8.30 - Cookie, hot chocolate, granola bar (arnd 520 cal) Plan to hav the following - lunch - home made indian dish .. comes to arnd 300 cal and one granola - 160 cal Snacks - Nuts and dates - 250 cals 6.30PM - Orange juice - 110cal 8.00 - Ensure - 350 cal 9.00 Dinner with lots of PB and Almond butter - arnd 450 cal 10.00 - Icecream - 160cal If my maths is correct, it wud come to arnd 2200 Any ideas how can i raise my cal to 2500.. pls rem am a vegetarian .

Hi All, I'm on 2000 cal diet for a week now. Some days increased my intake between 2200-2500 cal. Went to the market and hav got Ensure, peanut butter and almond butter :)) Agru, Congrats on gaining some weight. You seem to be doing well now. If u plan to exercise may be you shud increase to 3000cal or else I guess 2500 is fine. I'm gng to start wrkng out from next week but I'll be doing weight training used to build muscle and increase weight. I heard if u lift weight and do more no. of repetitions u lose, but if u lift more weight with less no. of repetitions u gain. I'm also planning to increase intake to 2500cal but am vry scared at the thought of eating so much :(( Keep eating and gaining :)))

hi agru, I have been on 2000 since two days only. Still getting used to the cal.. but happy with the improvement, atleast am able to eat :)) Earlier the thought of 2000 cal a day wud hav made me sick. Am planning to join gym so that I can do some weight training exercise so that these extra cals gets utilised properly.. do u think it's a good idea?

Hi All, I'm new to this group. I have been reading these messages for past few days. Got really motivated. I'm a 25 yr old female, suffering from aneroxia for the past 10 yrs. I weigh 100 lbs and this is my heighest weight till date :( My daily calorie intake was 1200cal. Now I have gradually increased it to 2000cals. Aiming to increase till 2500cals. Not sure if I can eat that much. My diet: Brkfast: Hot chocolate(16 oz), granola bar, low fat chocolate milk(8oz), some cookies (usually up to 150 cal) - totally comes arnd 500 cal Lunch: Rice with pulses and green vegetable Evening Snacks: Banana, orange juice, Nuts , Granola bar Before Dinner: Milk (8oz) Dinner: Rice/Roti with pulses and vegs After Dinner: Dates I plan to check my weight again after 4 weeks.
