Don't be discouraged.  Nice to see you are still kicking around...I still linger on this site...mostly jsut calorie counting.  Never had much interest on the forums.  But really ingorne the negative response ...life is to short to get worked up over such things.

Hi Shalz,

I don't think coffee is all that bad for you.  If anything a little caffinee in the morning will kick start your motabolism or at least increase your heart rate.  But in moderation.  Make sure you're drinking plenty of water cause coffee like any caffinated drink, it will dehydrate you. 

Also go easy on the cream and sugar.

this is my portable meal.

I carry this around....

Lite Rye bread & low fat deli meat (usually chicken or turkey)

Pre-clean/chopped-up Bagged Veggies.
I usually grab the carrots/broccoli. Any supermarket will have.

some minerial water
I find carbonate water more refreshing and fills me up better.

I like to eat pre-bagged/clean veggies.  I go for the Broccoli/carrort/cauiflower mix.  You can get it at the Canadian Superstore, but I am sure you can find something simular at any supermarket. 

I get very hungry during the afternoon and it seems to tam the beast so to speak.

Drink Whey protien.

It's really not that expensive ($22 bucks Canadian) and personally I like the taste.  I buy the Chocolate one.  One tub usually last about a 1-2 months depending how much you drink.

this is what i drink
1 cup of Skim Milk,
1/2 cup of blueberries (if I have)
1 scoop of Whey Chocolate protein

Total Cal.  210
34g of protien per serving
Only 2 grams of Fat.

hate to tell ya dear, but spot reduction doesn't work.  You just have to keep burning fat.  Cardio, cardio, cardio - Eventually it will disappear.

Personally, I like women with some "junk in the trunk" ;)

i dive in British columbia, canada

North Vancouver mostly.  Love the island too. Done some diving in Maui a few years ago.  Got my cert. in 2000 and my recuse cert in 2005. 

I hope to go diving in the Bahamas in 2008.  Would love to go to Cozumel one day...that's like the holy grail of dive spots.

I gave up on the sodium.  I average like 2500-3000 a day.  Sure I might get a kidney stone one day. But hey, I like to eat more than just raw veggies.  And I love pickles.

You may need to focus on your form/breathing.  Your body might be fighting to get enough oyxgen to all your muscles - head included.  Do you get dizzy?  How's your back?  Any other symtoms?

Sounds like you are listening to your body.  Good.  I think you have to ease off on the walking.  Shin splints are an "over-use" injury.  Your muscule are still adjusting.  When you start to feel pain especially if the pain starts sooner and sooner, than it's time to take a break from that particular excerise.  Notice I said "break" from that excerise, not do nothing all together.  I would recommend cross-training.  When those shins start to get tender, do something else - like biking or swimming.  I find if I stop excerising all together cause of some injury, I lose all motivation to stay healthy.

Hey Jim,

Hate to tell ya, but if you're like me, the belly will be the last place you'll lose wieght.  I tend to hold most of my fat around my med-section/love handles.  Wasn't till I hit my target weight when I saw the ol'belly really disappear.

Good luck, keep at it...it'll come off eventually.

I find if my legs are really sore the best thing to do is get the blood circulating.  It helps remove the lactic acid.  Instead of running find a stationary bike.  Get the heart rate going but don't kill yourself.  Get lots of sleep and drink water.  Stretch before and especially after excerise.

i liked it to! I use to go to the gym all the time.   I was offically nik-named "Stretch-boy" from one of the workers, cause I was always in the stretch room - stretching.

Nothing wrong with pointing out funny stereotypes.

I think someone needs to relax abit.
