Weight Loss Thoughts on diet pills? Mar 01 2009

I wouldn't do that.  Diet pills can seriously mess up your metabolism, or so I've been told.  I think they basically speed it up so you lose weight...but when you go off of them your body's natural metabolism isn't fast enough and you gain all the weight back and more some.

Best to do it through calorie deficits and exercise.

Weight Loss Upping calories to break plateau? Mar 01 2009

I'm a relative newbie to this site, so I'm still learning how to do things like this myself.  I recently found myself the proud owner of a bad back and elected to stop exercising for three days.  (Up till then, I was doing 3x/week 40 min cardio, 3x/week 38 min resistance training, with 1 day off)  I continued eating as usual and to my surprise I dropped four pounds in that three day period!

I don't know if I'm a special case, and I don't know what your workout regimen is, but you might try giving your body break from the workout scene for a couple days.

I don't exercise, save for ten minutes of Yoga a day.  I think I'm going to up my calories though.  I remember last time I did that and I continued to lose weight.

About the comments below.  Thank you for your concerns but you don't know my body type.  Also I do ballet, and they want me to be thin.  They wanted me to do estranged diets but I opted for a healthy way.  I want to eat healthy and key word I want to eat.

I do eat.  I eat 5 times a day, and now roughly 260-280 calories each time.  I also drink eight glasses of water a day along with green tea.
