| Weight Loss | I won't eat, won't eat, won't eat...that! | Dec 12 2008 20:07 (UTC) |

Somebody may have said this already but:
My tip: Don't let yourself get hungry. Eat your 6 little (healthy) meals a day and plan ahead preparing yourself for the attack! Bring your cheese and fruit and granola and veggies along with you or go to parties having already eaten (if it's not a dinner party...that'd be rude) to at least rid yourself of that temptation. |

Leanne - I actually have Mirena and I don't trust my doctors much...to be honest. I've had some bad experiences. But I know that different people react differently to the hormones and I think I just might be one of those unfortunate ones that has a hard time. =/ Thank you for the encouragement though, I know you all are VERY supportive and believe me, I appreciate it. =]
I forgot to weigh myself this morning and I am NOT doing it now at almost 10 pm. so I'm sorry...but I'll have it up tomorrow. You guys have done great I can't believe you oakmommy losing what...around 8 pounds in two weeks?? That's great. Keep up the good work, fo sho.
EDIT: Ok today I am 159. =] first lost pound in a looooong time. |

Well my brother is coming into town for the week. He's like my very best friend and everyone is really excited about getting the old crew back together sooo...I'm really gonna have to watch myself! On another note, I'm considering having myself sterilized. haha! But...seriously. I am a fit, hot lady underneath all this fat...I can feel it! And the other day I was thinking why won't the FAT go away? I mean I exercise (boy do i ever) eat right whatever. I'm young...there just doesn't seem to be a good reason. I have lots of muscles i can feel but can't see and the inches just wont come off. I think it's a very good possibility I'm not responding well to birth control. Ahhh...I just don't know if I can permanently say good bye to babies yet. =[ Anyway...you girls better be good this weekend! I'll be thinking of you when I'm NOT eating party junk. =] Good luck! |

Original Post by iffero: I don't know if anybody looks at this anymore, but I stumbled across it in a desperate search for info...
I have Mirena and I feel exactly like the person I've quoted here. I thought about the question that was asked about he beginning of the thread and I started gaining weight at the exact time i was on the pill. I went off the pill for a few months and leveled out, then I remember gaining again when I went on. And none of this ever occured to me! Now I watch EVERYTHING I eat, and I work very very hard. So...I don't lose a pound. I think all that work is just doing maitenance for me! I wouldn't say the birth control itsself made me gain the weight (because when I first started, I was a teenager and ate whatever I wanted) but now that i've had babies and need to lose some, it's not happening no matter WHAT. So I guess the only alternative for me is sterilization? I have two babies by c-section and they tell me I can only have one more. I KNOW I don't want another any time soon...I just don't feel ready to make that decision. So I have to be fat? Ugh! This is killing me. |

saarap: Thanks so much for the encouragement! I know...it's slow moving. But someday it will all be over and I will NEVER be this size again! (unless I decide to have another baby, oh my) Anyway, I just started 30 day shred tonight at Level One and I think it's probably the best video I've ever bought (and I've bought a few!) I love the way she talks to you, she's tough and I need that. =] Carlyn: Here's the thing...I don't know! haha. My calorie target is supposed to be 1350, but then it also says that I burn 2100 a day naturally, so 500 less than that would be 1600...So what do I do?? 1600 seems high, I usually only hit that if I have something kind of indulgent, or extra or something but I usually do hit around 1350 or so. Any insight? |

I'm 24 so that's close enough! Wow, I thought that my calorie target from this site was 1350? So that's what I've been aiming for. I exercise between 5 and 6 times a week. But I'm losing NOTHING this month. =/ |

Wow, everyone did amazing this week!!!
Except me. Dude...I am sooo depressed. Nothing I do works. =[ I went to my analysis and I went over my limit by 2-300 cals probably 3 days. Would that be my problem? Ugh! I mean ok, I do weights, I do cardio, I do HIIT, I watch EVERYTHING I eat. No junk, no sugary stuff, no sodas. I even keep my portions at 20-30% fat the same for protein and the rest carbs. Long story short, I didn't lose anything this week. I really don't know what's wrong with me. My 30 day shred video came in though, so I'll keep on keepin' on. I just wish I could lose a little to help lift my spirits. Congrats everyone! |

Oakmommy- Thanks. =] I'm really trying and that, at least, makes me feel better. I do keep getting compliments from friends and family who haven't seen me in a while, so I must be doing something right. haha. As far as machines, I have a weight machine (don't know what it is, but it's one of those all inclusive things that seem to do everything) and a tread mill. I use free weights A LOT because they're my favorite and I just ordered Jillian Michael's 30 Day shred because I've heard a lot of good things. At least I can say that if there's one thing about me, I don't give up. I go to that scale and see no difference week after week and I get sad but I say, "I still have options." and try to figure out something different. Sooo...yeah. Interestingly enough, I just learned when I started CC that I needed more calories. I'm supposed to be around the 1350 mark, I believe. At first I had a really hard time getting it up there but now that I am surrounded by healthy food, and I eat all the time, I've been actually going over sometimes! Which is BAD. So I need to really focus. That's all it is. And I'm going to make a point of checking out the thread more often too. That always helps. =] |

I think it's telling you how much to eat to loose weight. Mine is estimated at 1350 and I'm sure I shouldn't deduct 500 from that. That would be below my minimum. |

STUCK STUCK STUCK at 160. Ughh....soooo depressing. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. =/
I've done some research on HIIT programs and the best way to lose weight so I'm shifting my focus to more weight training and less cardio (because that's what I read) and more HIIT. And I just ordered 30 day shred, haha. I'm really trying not to lose enthusiasm here. Good luck everyone! |

Last week: 160 This week: 160 ...At least I didn't gain. haha. I thought I might since I really didn't do well this week. No motivation plus halloween junk and running out of the healthy food in the house equals disaster. I'm actually pretty turned off by unhealthy food now so I'm more likely to just skip meals if there's nothing here I like, which I know now is just as bad. I went shopping yesterday so I'm prepared for this week. I have a serious goal of an entire TWO POUNDS to break into the 150's. I need this. I need to show myself I can do it. Good luck everyone. Have a great week. =] |

My first son (he's now two) was kind of difficult in this way. None of them like to move on to their cribs, haha. So what I did was let him cry. You have to. I would just sit there with the monitor on low so I couldn't hear him but I'd watch those little red bars go up up up for a while until he passed out. Yes, it was torture...but he will learn. When I first decided that this is what I was going to do I'd let him cry 20 mins, go back in and sing a song then leave and give him another half hour if he still went at it. They get pretty tired by this point. Just don't give in because then he will learn it's only a matter of time until he gets what he wants. We also used one of those little crib toys that plays music with low lights and stuff. That really helped him. |

Congrats on the great work so far! That's amazing, really. Just stick with it, it will come off. I have the same problem with hip fat which is really annoying because it keeps me from a smaller size in jeans. *sigh* But it will come off. Sliming down in other areas makes it seem more prominent though I totally know what you mean. Keep up the good work, girl. All in good time. =] |

I mean I ate well this week (except for the burger and nachos last night...ick) but I definitely didn't exercise the way I should have. My goal this week is to get in 4 days of cardio and two of strength training and keeping my calories up even though I am running out of good food...heh. Good luck everyone, we're going to make it! Good luck! I had to go through the same thing and still have trouble getting all the calories I'm supposed to BUT it feels soooo much better than starving. The way I do it is by eating little healthy things all day long. I pretty much eat constantly, and it's nice. You hardly ever binge that way! So good luck and keep us updated. =] |

Oh boy you sound like me, haha. I get so obsessive that I sometimes worry if I have some sort of exercise addiction. You will be fine and I bet you won't miss another work out for a while unless absolutely necessary (sounds like that isn't really a problem for you anyway) so...no worries! It's always a little harder for me to run after missing a few days but it's not too bad. I'm sure you'll get in there and get excited and not want to stop. So enjoy your time off. =] |

Thats a really good idea...and as far as you eating 300 over your limit with a 3 HOUR WORK OUT (wow) ...That's probably ok. In fact it's probably necessary! I would guess you were a little bit hungry after that, haha. Did you run the whole three hours? |

I totally know what you mean. My entire family is tall, thin, and beautiful. It just so happens that my biological father is short, stocky and Italian! And my sister has a different father so...that doesn't help. hah. Some of us have to work for everything, including our bodies. Whenever I'm feeling bad about it, I just remind myself of how good I'm going to look in the coming months and that when I do get compliments I'll say, "Yes, I worked my ASS off, thank you." =] |

Original Post by oakmommy24: I am hoping that once I lose the weight things will go back to normal but...I know what you mean. I just turned 24 and had my second baby this year. My first son was a doozey, 9 lbs and 21 inches...which is huge for a 5'1 120 lb (normally) girl like myself. I also have stretch marks but...they fade. Honestly, though you can always feel them. I'm not sure a tummy tuck fixes them though? Everything I've read says they're genetic, you get what you get. (And it's your mom's fault! haha...) but I like to think of them as trophies. =]
Anyway...sorry bout the long post. I didn't get to run yesterday and I feel like crap. Sometimes I think I must be really addicted to exercise or something because I really beat myself up when I don't do it. And I have to force myself to eat the next day, too. The only reason I didn't go is because I had to go grocery shopping (really excited about the new healthy food!) and didn't get back until 10. My husband is putting in a lot of late hours this month... You all sound like you're doing well and I wish you luck! I had my measurements today and seem to be down half an inch =] |

I am doing the 12 exercise program from this site, taking vitamin B to promote a good metabolism, and a free trial of acai berries (well...just in case) . I'm also really tracking my daily intake of fat and carbs as well as calories just to cover all my bases. I have big hopes for this thing! Good luck everyone! |

Oh honey please talk to your doctor. You may need some anti-anxiety medication short term. God knows that life is too short to walk around paranoid, as valid as a feeling as that may be. I'm so sorry that there are people in this world who make it more difficult for those of us who just want to LIVE but unfortunately with the good, there must also be a counter-balance of bad. The good news is, the reverse is true too. You'll get back to normal. Try some serious "me" time where you just relax and enjoy something simple like the beach or a movie or a favorite drink. Also, as soon as you feel like you can physically manage it, even if you emotionally don't, you should get back to exercising because its a great way to get morale up. You need those endorphins! Good luck. ((hugs)) |

Great post starcrossdlovex =] Other than that my advice would be tons and tons of water. I personally didn't like water to start out with so I went to walmart and got a cute little pink jug and started carrying it around with me everywhere. When I felt like I needed a snack or if everybody else was having a big bowl of ice cream, I'd go to my water. That bottle is like my bff, haha. If you're like me and not a big fan of water, it helps to drink it in an interesting way like from a jug or a straw. Sometimes I freeze the jug and drink the water slowly as it melts. You get creative. =] Good luck! |
