Weight Loss Why do I keep lossing controll??? Nov 24 2009

Sounds like a binge eating disorder. There are a lot of things you can find about it on google and youtube. You arent the only one. I deal with it by focusing on my weight loss and reducing my stress levels. also by not staying up too late at night. Zoloft is helping too!

It may be good to seek a professional, because it is a REAL illness, you arent weak or whatever

there is an online place that you can get custom jeans made, and they arent the most expensive things i have ever seen either! you design the pockets, stitching, belt loops, everything. Very interesting! www.indidenim.com i knew looking at that site would someday come in handy!

You should try the sweetener Stevia!  It is a natural sweetener and does not have as many chemicals as splenda.  I also love the low fat flavored coffee mate liquid creamers... mmmm!  I think it is like 15 calories per serving.  You can make a tasty cup of coffee for only like 20-30 calories!  Good luck!

although stevia is natural, it has a really strong, and disgusting taste when you use too much! Like the TINIEST amount is all you would need. And I STILL wouldn't use it, I would prefer the calories than the fake sugars as well. Maybe raise your activity to PAY for the few extra calories.

My logging has been 100%

my water drinking has suffered for a few days, maybe 5%

But over all I am really happy, I have lost 17kg!Including the weight of the baby ofcourse! :D

I am really happy, and for the first time in a long time, I am not feeling ill all the time, like belly aches from too much or too oily foods. I am really happy.

In order to stay on track my hubby has been supporting me, and ensuring that I drink, and he has still been preparing my meals for me while I tend to baby2. I will also try to start logging my water intake, so i dont forget how many cups i am up to, and end up a litre short and retaining water!

All in all I am really happy, and I already know in my next set of goals, I will keep the water as maintenance, and add some exercise goals since I will then be able to go to the gym again!

no gym yet, in 1.5 weeks my doc will give me the OK.

As far as walks, maybe 2-3 times per week.

Its really strange, earlier in the year I was eating 1500 cal and didnt lose much at all! and now I am eating 1800, and I am seeing a great loss. I guess its finding the magic number for your own body, because 2000 didnt work, nor did 1200 for me, weird!

I have soooo much to lose though. I just have to take everything one step at a time!

I have a 4 week old, and have lost about 36 lbs to date, back to lower than my weight PRIOR to this pregnancy. But still have 100+ to loose from the LAST pregnancy.

I am breastfeeding

I eat 1800 calories per day

I drink 2.5 liters of water

and I dont snack on crazy stuff, i log EVERYTHING, even when i eat something not so noble...

I am also using coping methods to deal with my stress

DEALING with the stress that you are confronted with will be a HUGE part of it, the stress is the bandit here, trust me!!!

unload some of your burdon if you can, family friends, whatever, get as much support as you can!!!

Vegetarian Transition to vegan! Nov 16 2009
06:15 (UTC)

Umm this threaad is a little off topic...

Becoming a vegan is a great experience, it is a very healthy way tolive. I would say slow and steady wins the race, I gave up dairy for the same reason (lactose intolerance) but put that out of your diet first. Dont worry about the full gamut initially especially if you think the dairy will be difficult for you.

Take small steps, and you will get there. Eat plenty of variety, and don't overdo it with the vegan alternative products (gets to be an expensive habit)

With a little bit of imagination, you will find a whole new world of flavours to explore!

I also recommend www.vegan-food.net and www.vegweb.com

Good luck!

Don't worry about what he said, guys can be weird at times, my hubby says some things sometimes, not to the exent of being negative, but kind of insensitive. But when I tell him how it makes me feel, then he understands and apologizes, maybe try to tell him how it makes you feel.

Although I get where you are coming from, there are a lot of ED ppl here, so maybe don't accentuate the LOWER AND LOWER calorie amounts, because of your height, you may be able to go a little lower, but most ppl shouldn't dip below 1500 especially if they are exercising.

Foods Canned veggies vs Fresh Nov 15 2009
02:58 (UTC)

I would have to say frozen would be much better than canned veggies, as canned things always seem to have so much salt. And it is true that frozen retains the higher amount of nutrition because they are flash frozen.

In an ideal world I would say have organic, fresh off the farm. From the dirt, right to your mouth :D

ummm seems kind of fast considering your start weight. A lot of these suggestions sound alright, especially plenty of water, (i find that i snack like crazy when i dont drink enough) but just be patient, and don't be discouraged if the weight doesnt just come flying off at first, persistance is the KEY!

AT MOST 2lb per week ok!

Good luck!

Last Friday my GoWear Fit was delivered, basically the same as the BB. I have been wearing it and doing my normal trips to the gym and calorie counting. I will be very interested to see if you have the same reaction but I am amazed at how many calories it says I am burning!

So, my GoWear Fit says I'm burnt 2648 on Saturday and 2880 on Sunday. Even if I take into account the 10% that their website says it could be off that's 2383 and 2592. I didn't realize it would be that high. Now I wonder if I'm really eating enough and maybe that's why my weight is not coming off.

I'm female, 37 yrs old, 5'3", 40% body fat and did no exercise at all until the middle of September when I joined the gym. I now strength train 3x per week and do cardio 3x per week. I'm supposed to eat 1300 calories per day but now I think that's too low and I'm going to up it a bit.

I think your calories are too low!

As far as the body bugg, i am going to get a fit bit next month, and i am really excited about it too.  I think you should write the numbers downs for the week and measure up against the cals you eat to see how accurate it is! I love doing the math to see how accurate the cals in vs out thing really is for me!

i think you will be fine, its not that exact of a science, as long as you aren't going under and feeling really hungry, or going over by a lot, or over filling yourself! Its my understanding that mixing it up a little can keep away the plateaus as well...

Weight Loss can everyone (women) become a size 0 or 2?? Nov 07 2009

at my smallest I was a size 8 on top and a size 10 on the bottom, I think if  lost and lost and lost (not my goal, ever) I could have gotten to a size 6 TOPS, or should I say bottoms. I dont think my skeleton could fit anything smaller than that (I am 5'11) but then again, with enough craziness, anything is possible

tofu and veggie scramble

green smoothie

I think the tofu and vegetable scramble is a good itdea, with onions, bell peppers, basil and garlic, and on the side have some nice fresh sprouts and fresh slices of tomato. That is a nice veggie breakfast, high in protein too.Its really tasty when you sprinkle in some esame seeds, salt and nutritional yeast (red star - high in b12)

Heres a tip when scrambling tofu use only a small amount of oil, because too much oil wont allow the tofu to get crispy.

You can also make a fake omelette out of chickpea flour and spices, that is a legumey way to to have some veggies. Its kind of like a savoury, tasty pancake think, google it and pick a recipe you like the sound of, I think traditionally they do it in India.

I am a big fan of savoury breakfast usually, sigh, but right now i am just low cal'ing it all the way, so only fortified cold breakfast cereal for me. But now I can have a savoury breakfast vicariously through someone else! :D

Health & Support learning how to eat again? Nov 07 2009

i dont hink it is a bad thing to eat on a time schedule. as long as youre not eating on an emotion schedule. its when you let your stomach grumle that ppl tend to make bad food decisions. staying on top of the hunger is good, means your body wont think its starving between meals.

your schedule is good as long as you arent constantly "full", like really full and bloated, in which case you shave down the servings.

Weight Loss Meridia and Doctor prescribed me to eat UNDER 1200 cals a day... Nov 05 2009

I took meridia years ago, at 2 separate times, the first time it worked, well, I didnt like that I felt like i was having heart palpitations, and my blood pressure got really low... hmmm.

The second time, it worked at first, and then it made me EXTREMELY constipated, like go to the doc constipated, and then stopped working, and it no longer curbed my hunger.

some people it doesnt work to start with...

You really have to just change your attitude if you want the weight off, bc meridia can only fight you so much, bc if you REALLY want to overeat, you still can.
