One thing I have had to start doing is figuring out what I will eat at home, before I go out.  So, I tell myself:  I will order one poached egg and one slice of toast, and then I order it. 

I know its not as fun, but it gets rid of the calorie count aftermath that ensues when I eatmore complicated foods at restaurants.

I am going through the same thing.

I successfully lost 30 pounds last year and have kept it off.

BUT I still have 30 pounds to go.  I lose 2-4 pounds over a couple of weeks and then I gain it and lose it and gain it and lose it.

I just lose it, and then stop my routine...been doing it for 3 months now?  WHY?

I know that it's now or never...and that time will go by whether I lose the weight or not.  But I still can't seem to get over this?

I do the sabaotoge thing too.  Im not at my goal weight yet, but it seems whenever I start making good progress, I ruin it.

Like today with the brownie and tootsie rolls...

when I stopped using hormonal birth control I didn't have mood swings, but I did feel slightly happier.  I think the hormones in birth control made me just a little depressed. 

Also, my sexual desire increased alot after I went off the pill.  I have heard that the hormones in birth control can reduce sexual desire, but I didn't notice it until I stopped taking it.  

I haven't used birth control in about two years (after using it for about 2-3 years) and I love it!  I don't think I'll ever use hormonal contraception again.  But, I'm also the type that doesn't like taking medication at all.

I hope your decision works well for your body.

It's easy to speculate as to why other Americans or people of other nations are fat, but let's be honest: we're all on a weight loss site.

Why are you overweight?

I'm overweight (slightly) because I like large portions; I haven't learned how to listen to my body.

I have a sweet tooth.

I am an emotional eater

I dislike exercise.  I'm not an outdoorsy person unless I'm drinking beer and tanning at the river/lake/ocean.

Hey ladies, sorry I've been gone for a couple of weeks.

Lost 8 pounds in a month!  It's more than I expected, but I'm not complaining for sure!

I know it's going to get harder from this point on.  My body always fights me when I get to 140. 

Jhenine, nice to know more about you.  I have a portion control problem too, especially when it comes to visiting home.  My family is hispanic, so going home to homemade beans, tortillas, tamales (lard, lard, and lard based), etc. is always a challenge.  Why is it that good home cooking is so fatty and so good?  I hear you on the Filipino food, I've only had it once, but it was AMAZING.

I've been trying to think of ways to control my portions better:

1. Don't make extra food (which is a pain)

2. Drink a big glass of water before I eat?

3. Have a small cup of soup before a meal?  Like a veggie broth type soup?

I've also had a problem with wine.  I love to have a glass or two with dinner and it's really hard to want to take in those calories.

hey guys, looks like we've all taken a break from this forum. I'll post anyway;)

I started at 151.0 on 2/21.  Today I'm at 142.4, so thats about 8+ pounds off in a month.  It's more than I thought I would lose.

Anyway, I'm on my way to my goal of 130 by May 8th...I think it's reasonable.

But it's going to get much harder from here.  Everytime I get near 141 my body really starts fighting me.

wow, I've been gone a couple of weeks, alot has happened here!  I'm in for my weekly weigh in.

SW 2/21 151.0

CW 3/20 142.4

Looks like I lost a good 8.6 pound this past month.  It's alot more than I thought I would lose.  I definitely got off track last week, but have been working a ton, so that's less time thinking about food.

I really really need to work on my water intake and upping my exercise.

Good work!  I started out at 170 in March of last year too.  I'm not sure how tall you are; but I'm 5'2-3".  I went from 170 to 140 in a few months it came off fairly quickly, and I remember how I felt the first time I saw 140.  I hope that happens for you soon!  Just seems like we have similar stats and goals. 3 in a week and a half is a good rate of loss.  It's also three less pounds that ou have to work on losing.  Keep it up!

Excersize your obliques.  Those are your abs on the side.  Lay down, and put your knees together and lay then on the floor to your left.  Do crunches like this.  Then flip sides, putting your knees together and placing them on the floor to your right, do more crunches.  You should feel a little burn on the sides of your abs.

i weighed in today at 144.4.  its not a loss from last week, but I'm still down about six pounds from my first weigh in 2 weeks ago.  As long as my general trend keeps declining, i'll be on schedule to lost the 25 by May!

I didn't budge this week, but it is still a 6 pound lossin two weeks, adn my weight trend is still declining, so I'm on schedule soon.

Hey guys, thought I's check in for the week.  Last week I was at 151 and today I weigh 144.4.  That's a huge loss for the week, but I'm sure there are a ton of weird factors: my body has gone through some crazy stuff lately.  Anyway, I'm sure my weight will come off much slower in the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, I realized I need to watch my fat intake.  I try to eat alot of lean proteins, but I do love eggs so I need to cut down on those a little.  Also, I can't live without my morning coffee, so I got a new creamer.  It's fat free and only 10 calories per tablespoon..or two tablespoons?

Since I hate to excersize, I am starting slowly; doing ab workouts each night.

So, I'm current;y at 144.4 and am hoping to lose another 25 pounds by June hopefully!

Hey guys,

Sorry I didn't weigh in yesterday.  We had a part Friday night and I drank probaly a day's worth of calories in red wine, so I didn't want to weigh myself yesterday.  Anyway:

Last week- 151

Today- 144.4

Goal by May 8th is 130 so that's 14 pounds to lose.

What is every ones weight loss plan?

I am following a nutrition plan that my doctor gave me.  She has me eating low calories and a high ratio of protein.  I shoot for about 1200 calories a day and try to have protein make up about 70-80 grams of my diet.  So, I eat alot of beans, tofu, eggs, chicken, tuna, and cottage cheese.  I also eat edename and peas and of course fit in veggies and some fruit.  I pretty much limit my bread to very whole grain bread and oats.

I'm trying to excersize more, and that is much more of a challenge for me than the eating part.

What are you all doing?

In my experience, I have been able to lose considerable weight without excersieze...for awhile.  One I got closer to my goal, I stopped losing with just changin gmy eating habits alone.  At some point, you will need to excersize to reach your goal and to maintain it.

Hi ladies!

I do want to encourage some of you.  I was diagnosed with PCOS a year ago.  The doctor told me that if I got my weight to a healthy range, I would have much better chances of conceiving.  I march of 08 I weighed 170 and got down to 135 in October (i'm 5'2).  I got pregnant naturally, without even counting days, etc.  However, I did miscarry, and I gained weight during the time I was pregnant (and the comfort food that followed).

But, I am here to say that losing weight will help us conceive and have healthier pregnancies.  After the miscarriage I am finally ready to finish my weight loss goals before we try having a baby again. 

My current weight is 151 and My goal is 120 (I30 pound loss) and I would like to weigh in every Saturday.  What's good for you girls?

I'm posting this late, but I was 139.6 on Friday Jan 2nd.

I'm going grocery shopping tonight so I can get all the foods I need to stay on track.

I can only excersize if I do it everyday.  If I can get into a routine, I'm good.  If I break it, it's REALLY hard to start up again.

I curb cravings by drinking a glass of water, tea, or diet soda.

I am also 5'2.  Its nice to have people around who are the same height.  When I told my family my goal weight this Christmas, they all thought it was too low, but I am shorter than all of them.

Anyway, I am at 134 right now and my goal weight is 120, so I have about 15 left to lose.  When I get there I may decide to lose another 5 or so.

I'll weigh in on Fridays, what about everyone else?
