Thank you everyone for your responses, feedback, and encouragement - it's such a great community! I'm very motivated to get back to fast walking with my little jogging stints. I looked over the Couchto 5K program and it looks logical but for now I just want to work up to that beginning at my own pace. I agree that brisk walking is a great workout, but i've never ached like that in my thighs as when I did the running a few days in a row. It seems that burst I need from my thighs and calfs really amps up the workout. |

It's understandible if it's just for Fashion Week, and I'm sure their lives are wrapped up in it, but then all the more reason to start the day off at home with a decent breakfast, not just vitamins. I think it's very irresponsible of New York Mag to publish something like that. I know that here in Montreal not only would something like that never make it to press but the city is instating rules for minum weight/size for models to prevent the use of anorexic models during our fashion week. |

| Weight Loss | How often should weigh-ins be done? | Oct 18 2008 11:52 (UTC) |

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I'm really surprised to see so many people weigh themselves daily! I know that as for myself if I weigh myself daily I'm expecting to see a change happen every day of at least 1lb. or i'll be dissapointed..so if I follow my "healthy weight loss plan" I should only expect to lose 1.5-2 max per week.. |

Great topic, poo is so important to really know what's happening on the inside! As many of the members mentioned above water water and more water. Especially if you're eating a lot of fiber as it will absorb water and if you aren't well hydrated your poo is sluggish to pass through your large intestines. Another cause is if you're eating a high protein low carb diet that can slow things down as well, so be sure to eat lots and lots of fiber if you consume protein. |

Again, thanks for the reply :) During my last visit to the doctor he checked my blood pressure and said it was normal and healthy. (Mind you he is my new family doctor so he didn't have much to compare my current weight/health with) But after my checkout he just said, congratulations keep doing what you're doing. *shrug* He didn't tell me to lose weight or to watch for anything. He seemed attentive and friendly and answered all my questions. I don't snore during sleep but have a tendancy to clench my teeth. Here in Quebec at the pharmacy we have machines where you can check your blood pressure for free and usually while my boyfriend and I wait for my prescription we check out pressures and they are both normal. |

| Weight Loss | How does your diet survive a tough day at work? | Oct 16 2008 12:21 (UTC) |

Thanks for the reply gi-jane, you have a good point about food and emotions being intertwined. It just makes me wonder, why am I not getting my emotional needs met in everyday life that I need to turn to food for comfort? I have a loving and caring boyfriend, a great supportive family..I guess that's something I'll have to work on during this weight loss 'process'. ;) |

I agree with what ericajess and gi-jane say about the 'not feeling satisfied' emotionally and making up for it with food, but how do we really FIX that feeling? Or learn to not rely on food for comfort? I've been making small attemtps at weight loss lately that just seem to dissapear after a rough work day or a quarrel with my love. |
