Health & Support Horrible Itch...I'm going INSANE! Sep 18 2009

You can die from allergic reactions. Hives are only a step or two down from anaphylactic  shock which can kill you. I see an allergist once a week and recieve an injection in each arm. What they do is desensitize you to the things that you are allergic  to. This is a really basic explanation, sorry I can't do any better, I just know that seeing an allergist has saved my sanity not to mention kept me from clawing my skin off.

you need to see an allergist. i developed severe allergies while pregnant, at one point i was in the er because my reaction was so bad. it started EXACTLY as you describe. to this day if i get cocky and stop getting allergy shots my hives come back. which is what all those little pissy, annoying you to the point of insanity dots are going to turn into. please feel free to contact me and i will share my experience with you. as i'm typing this my ankles, the soles of my feet, my wrists and both sides of my hands are itching like hell. my stomach has rejoined the act too.

Motivation anyone here doing the ea active personal trainer 30 day challenge? Aug 06 2009
02:12 (UTC)

i have it and i'm just finishing my 2nd go round with the 30 day challenge. of course i will start round three when this is finished but i've heard they are making a new version (already) and i think i will buy that one too. it may seem like it doesnt work you that hard but i can see my little biceps *grin* getting bigger and my stomach is looking pretty good too. i love this game because its not too long to do, i have two kids that like to help, and it actually gets me moving. i just wish it had an ab workout. maybe they will address that on the new version of the game. as far as the resistance band goes, i had bought a set of bands already that had flat nylon handles and it makes it pretty easy to work with. they have flat webbing so it makes it easier to hold while holding the controllers.

So I just bought a HRM that allows you to wear it all day and track your calories burned. ( I realize it's not the most accurate thing out there, but hey, it's better then nothing). I used to have my activity level set at sedentary but after wearing this HRM for awhile, I've found that I burn approx. 2700 calories a day so you might just be suprised at how much you actually move in any given day. And  the 2700 hundred does include my exercise.

Motivation Anyone 5'6"? How much do you weigh? Jun 28 2009

I'm 34 years old, 5'6" and I currently weigh 140. I started out Oct '08 at 180. I'm trying to get down to 135. I've been stuck at 140 for at least a month now and it's beginning to make me lose my drive. Of course I never thought I'd get down to 140 to begin with.

I've done one round of EA Sports Active's 30 day challenge and I'm soon to start another one but it's getting really tough to want to try anymore. My biggest problem is reducing my waist size.

does anyone have problems with their ankles? mine hurt now since I've been using ea active. not the bones but the muscle all the way from the tops of my feet to about halfway up my shin. it's really taking the enjoyment out of working out and actually makes me not do the exercise to the best of my ability.

I got the game two days ago. It's not the inline skating that gets me, it's the lunges. If that trainer had me do any more lunges I was going to commit avatar-cide. So it sounds like I really need to get a HRM because it told me I only burned 153 cal on medium intensity. Um, don't think so hoss, I can hardly move my legs today.

so i read a post you left on another thread, do you really think you burn twice what the calorie burn thingimibobber says? ( yes that's a technical term). My husband made a comment that he thinks I burn more then what it says. What kind of HRM do you have, I've been wanting to get one.

Fitness Wii Fit vs. EA Sports Active? May 21 2009

The EA game has a 30 day challenge that you can set the intensity level for. I picked medium thank goodness. You don't have to do the challenge, there is a lot of options for workouts on there. You can choose how long the workout is, what body parts to concentrate on. Also you can choose to do cardio or strength training, it's pretty cool actually.

I have had the wii fit since febuary and while I love it, the fact that you have to slow down any effectiveness of the work out by switching between exercises was a pain in the butt. I like the individual challenges like the plank challenge, push ups and the jackknife challenge.

I recieved the EA sports game yesterday and did it for the first time today. I actually broke into a sweat so I think it will be much more effective. I started the 30 day challenge today.

I try to do things for myself that I wouldn't normally do such as when I reach 140 I'm getting a full-on 70 bucks an hour massage . Ooooh can you say heaven? Or a bottle of perfume that costs way too friggin' much is my treat when I get to 135 which is my ultimate goal.

thank you for all of the advice guys, i never thought of being tired making me want sweets.  I take protein bars to work with me, my work cafeteria serves nothing but crap. Literally everything is deepfried or covered in some sort of sauce. I work grave in a casino so if I leave property for any reason during shift I would be fired. That leaves me with the protein bars. They do offer apples and sometimes bananas for free so I should start eating those. And I can't have a box of ice cream bars sitting at home because I won't stop at just one. I'm an all or nothing kind of girl so I'm screwed.

don't let them give you crap. I don't mean for you to verbally fight back but when they start seeing results they will admire you, trust me. I started this journey in october of last year at a little over 180 lbs. as of today I am 143 lbs. at first my coworkers gave me a hard time but now I have people coming up to me asking me how I did it.

after a while your friends will come around, just don't give up.

Oh heeeeeck mother fudging yes!!!!!!!!! I bought a pair of size 7 jeans today to have as incentive thinking I'd get them maybe to my hips but not be able to button them up. I tried them on and not only got them all the way up but buttoned AND zipped.

Six months ago I was a solid  13, I can't believe it. I was a size 7  20 years ago. I realize that sizes have increased over the years but its still sweet that I can say I'm the same size I was when I was 14. Mwa hahaha Cool

Fitness Curves workout AND Wii fit Mar 20 2009
23:40 (UTC)

hey, I'm 5'6" and on oct 5 '08 I weighed 180. It's now march 20 and I weigh in at 149. I am one of the laziest people on earth when it comes to exercising so I did most of this through watching what I eat. I upped my fiber to about 40 grams a day average and lowered my calories to 1200 a day. Keep in mind that I don't exercise very much.

My husband just bought the wii fit and it ROCKS! So far everything I've done on it has brought sore muscles the next day so I would say it works.

I just feel the need to add, I've made cake with diet soda and it tasted great but you need to be sure to add to the cooking time ( At least I did) because for some reason it was a gooey mess in the middle until I cooked it longer .
