hey, im 18, very lightly active, maintain on 2000 cal but i eat 2500....i think those who are younger and eat much less than 2000 should re-evaluate their intakes...maintaining on 1200 is not healthy especially when you still have a fair bit of growing! |

zeb thanks, i did manage to change it up aa bit yestderday, need to go shopping today to get some diff. things tho :) B: oatmeal w/ banana, pb + soymilk and some raspberries S: 3 oatcakes w/ philly, a glass of strawberry milk L: cheese + apple toastie, nature valley oats + honey bar S: teddy grahams + some easter egg D: veggie chow mein (homemade) + a glass of wine S: fromage frais mixed with museli + glass of milk
edit changing up has been pretty successful today :) B: yogurt + strawberries, hot cross bun spread w/ butter S: 3 oatcakes w/ pb + philly, banana + yogurt milkshake L: cheese + vegetabel crisp sandwich (haha i had a flashback to childhood when i put my crisps in my sandwiches!) , a pear S: biscuits dipped in strawberry milk, a slice of vienneta (like an ice cream log thing w/ choc) D: WW pasta with a spinach + tomato sauce, topped w/ gruyere, a glass of wine S: (will be) a cereal + yogurt combo..possibly (probably) with more ice cream! |

im not sure how much of a change it makes but eating plenty of fat is good and helps some way! im not sure of the ins + outs but i know TTOM is missing because hormones are low....hormones are regulated by fat, both body fat and dietary fat so in order to get it back you should eat more fats (~30%) and increase body fat (which youre doing by gaining weight :) ) im sorry im not really knowledgable but i would go for the PB + avocade etc. because they will help you :) |

(150) S: fromage frais with slices apple, topped with honey teddy biscuits (300) D: quorn mince chilli (300) with brown rice (300) S: oatmeal with raisins and soy milk (300) total: 2700 haha since eating more last week ive got a larger appetite, a good thing though :) |

Original Post by mackey828: well...theres youre answer, you have stressed your body to the point where it no longer trusts you, resulting in no period. your docs reccomendations of eating adequately (2000 is not alot, fairly average) and easing up on the exercise are an attempt to get your period back, or else you risk osteoperosis and infertility when youre older. you havebt said how old you are but youre likely to be still growing (guessing young as your mum went to the docs with you). it may be that 125-130 is your natural weight, if you dont restrict food and gradually go back there you may find you grow slightly. that being said, 5'3" and 125 is perfectly healthy. my best advice would be to listen to profesionals ** and try to stop counting calories, your young so enjoy yourself. ** although, i think a gain of 15lbs in a month may be excessive so you may want a second opinion |

back from a weeks skiing :) best ski ive ever had, enough energy + stamina to enjoy all 6 days....i basically just ate constantly when i wasnt on the slopes! yesterday (travelling) B: 2 slices cheese on toast and a glass of OJ S: pain au raisin (mmm soo good) L: strawberry milkshake and a cheese + pesto sandwich (a nutty bread, swiss cheese and the pesto replaced the butter on the bread) S: whole bag of dried dates and an apple D: a cheese ploughman's sandwich on the plane...and a few too many sweets S: bowl of museli when i got home

hey, i felt i had to reply cos i can relate :) i was diagnosed with ana. 3 days before flying to florida (from uk) at around 80lb! it may not have been to most sensible thing haha but anyway, i did the whole disney and universal thang ;) plenty of big cosaters...no problems at all! the only thing i will say is, your bum hurts cos of the lack of padding! after a few days i took to carrying a cardigan with me just so i could fold it up and sit on it :)
so i would say go for it, its great to have something to look foreward to! as for food, either pack your own or wing it :P most parks these days have a great variety of foods so if youre up for it, and itd be a good thing o challenge yourself, just go and eat what your friends eat |

so...had to weigh in today to get weight for booking ski hire (whoop less than 2 weeks!) lw: 80lb (36kg) cw: 44kg (97lb) gw: 50kg (110lb) <--for now height: 162cm (5'4") hmm...last time i was weighed was at the doc's 4th jan 45kg on their scales but i was wearing more so im going to conclude no change! WTF! eating more, exercising less + maintained argh

B: oatmeal with 2tbsp flax, wheat germ + ground mixed seeds, grated apple and soymilk S: milkshake (banana, soymilk, wheat germ) and a bag of maltesers L: cheese + falafel toastie S: tiramisu (omg...i had a craving and went with it..so worth it) D: soy mince chilli with sweetcorn, runnerbeans + brown basmati rice D: strawberries and greek yogurt S: will be museli with almonds + wheatbran + a glass of strawberry milk question: is there too much sugar?? i get 35g from the maltesers + tiramisu...plus whats in the fruit and dairy! am i right in thinking its only meant to be 50g/day...because i must be having way too much! anyone?? |

i like youre idea, nice and positive but may be better in health and support? :) i like tops that are fitted around the bust and tie at the back (to pull it in under the bust) but are then loose around the stomach. im in love with waist belts around a big cosy jumper (for those in the cold places) because it gives the appearance of a curved figure! |

thanks lala, and sorry about the delay in reply! im getting bloods done a week on tuesday so ill make sure i get full count and Us and Es just to check :) thanks for the snack ideas, ive stocked up on some jordan's granola (love it) and i made some banana raisin bran muffins yesterday which will be portable im finding the fact that i have no scale hard now ive increased....when i increased before i had a scale to see what was happening (although i didnt know about the whole water weight/wait two weeks thing) anyway, do you have a like to a study that found 2500 was 'the number'...im not contemplation restricting again, itd just be really good to reduce the anxiety! thakyou |

GOGOGO!! haha seriously, if you want to break your habits and loosen up a bit going away is a fatastic opportunity!! im a frequent traveller and i find when im abroad i enjoy not having the burden of having the same foods all the time, because i cant as for portion sizes, when and/or what to eat, just follow the examples of others!! Barcelona, went there a few years ago. their foods are lovely (just meditteranian so v.healthy), they eat regular breakfasts, smaller lunches, go to sleep in the pm (or just do nothing) and then have a later evening meal (8-9pm) which will last a while, like its an event rather that just something that has to be done also, try tapas!! you order it to share between everyone youre eating with, its just lots of little dishes (paellas, baked fish, potatoes in sauces, salads, 'ratatouille' style veggies) so you can just eat the amount you want and control portion sizes which may make you more comfortable?? hope this helped! |
