It was my bf's birthday today! Lol. I got him a sweater, a new winter jacket, a book, and a CD. He liked everything, especially the new winter jacket since he really needed one. Otherwise, make him a tie-blanket. You just buy fleece and cut strips along the edges and tie them together [look it up on google for a better discription, lol] They're perfect for the colder seasons, and it's home-made. :] Hope this helped. |

I've used Hydroxycut a few times, and I really like it. [Don't yell at me, lol] I just take half of the doses per day, because otherwise I experience insomnia because of the caffine. It definetly supresses my appetite, and gives me more energy. It also makes you sweat more during your workout so could potentially burn more calories. I actually took it before my workout this morning and run for almost 7 miles straight. Anyway, it gives me an extra boost, but it might not work for everyone. |

This is my problem too. I've learned to just eat 11 chips and 2tsp salsa, or eat 1 cookie. That way I still get to eat all of the things I like- without overdoing it. That way I don't feel deprived and binge out on junk food. You can do it too! Just measure everything. Eat what you like, just in smaller portions. It's much easier to stick to a diet when you're eating foods that you think taste good. |

| Weight Loss | What is a healthy goal for me to set. and any other suggestions | Dec 29 2008 03:49 (UTC) |

| Set your activity level to sedetary, because this isn't supposed to include workouts. That way you'll make sure you're not over estimating. Then take your burn meter number and subtract 500 calories. Thats what you should be eating to lose 1lb per week. On the days you exercise, you can eat more if you want. If you combine eating less and exercising you can lose up to 2lbs a week, but you shouldn't try to shoot for anything higher than that. Also, you should never eat less than 1200 calories a day. If you lose 1lb a week starting tomorrow you could lose 24lbs by June 1st. If you loose 2lbs a week it could be 48. I'd shoot for 25lbs, making your goal for June 165lbs. I hope this helped. :] Also, if you need more support- you should join the group *College Students Trying to Lose Weight* there are alot of people your age in the group. We share recipes, workout tips, and do weekly weigh-ins. -Adrea |

| Weight Loss | Nutrisystem... Friend or Foe? | Dec 29 2008 01:30 (UTC) |
18 |
Nutrisystem is just diet food composesd of complex carbs (whole grains) and has you eating 1200-1600 calories a day. I would rather just buy protien bars and lean cuisines. They taste better than nutrisystem and are pretty much the same. |

Take smaller portions. Count every bite. If your mom doesn't support you- then microwave a lean cuisine or something. I'd rather be healthy and face the wrath of mom. |

| Weight Loss | I think I over did it on fat and salt today..please look | Dec 28 2008 02:32 (UTC) |

It's just one day, so I wouldn't worry about it. The sodium is about 1000mg higher than it should be. And you should try to keep the fat to 20%. But as long as it didn't effect your calorie intake, I wouldn't sweat it. |

I get these too! But I get a bad headache right at the end of my 65 min run. I've found if I eat a little snack (fruit or a string cheese) before my workout and avoid caffine, the headaches are usually not so bad. Also, make sure you're getting enough water. Hope this helped. :] |

You should join the group *College Students Trying to Lose Weight* We have many people your age with the same problem. Also, not trying to sound like a broken record- but 1200 is the bare minimum that a sedetary small frame female needs for her organs to function. Just exercise more to burn the extra calories and you'll lose weight in no time. |

| Weight Loss | Christmas=Chocolate AAAHH!!! | Dec 27 2008 16:44 (UTC) |

Bring some of the chocolate to work, or wrap it in a cute tin and give it to your neighboor. If this isn't an option, put the chocolate away [like on the top shelf of the closet] and only leave a couple of pieces in the kitchen. That way you'll have to work harder to get it and it'll give you more time to think if you really need those extra pieces. I hope this helped. :] |

Weighed in today and lost 2 more lbs. I don't know if this is unhealthy, or if it's just water weight. :[ I was only hoping to lose 1-2lbs per week, and I've already lost 3. I mean, it's encouraging, but I don't want to lose the weight too fast and have it come back on. Anyone else having this problem?
Your mission You don't need much more than some floor space and a view of a clock to get a heart-pumping total-body workout. To do it, you'll jump rope (if you don't have one, just jump without it) and perform exercises like squats, crunches, and push-ups. These moves use your body weight to strengthen and sculpt your arms, chest, abs, thighs, and butt. And with no dumbbells or other gear to deal with, you can easily move from one exercise to the next without stopping, which will keep your heart rate elevated--and those calories melting away. Stick this plan on your fridge or take it with you when you travel and you'll always be ready to squeeze in some allover toning. How it works Simply follow the chart. For the speed skater, see the must-do move (right); for a refresher on push-ups, squats, and crunches, go to shape.com/cheatsheet. If the workout ever feels too intense, march in place until you catch your breath, then just pick up where you left off. your workout plan time (min.) what to do RPE * (1-10) 0-2 march in place 3 2-4 jumping jacks 4 4-5 speed skater 5-6 5-7 jump rope 7 7-8 crunches 5 8-9 jump rope 7 9-14 repeat minutes 4-9 5-7 14-15 squats 5 15-17 jump rope 7 17-18 push-ups 5 18-20 jump rope 7 20-26 repeat minutes 14-20 5-7 26-28 jumping jacks 4 28-30 march in place 3 workout intensity moderate to hard equipment needed a jump rope total time 30 minutes calories burned 280 ** * See page 244 for RPE chart. ** Calorie burn is based on a 145-pound woman.Keep your heart rate up, strengthen your thighs and butt, and increase your power with this must-do move. speed skater Stand with feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent. Bend forward at the hips and reach left hand toward right foot as you extend right arm behind you. Raise your left foot, shifting your weight to your right foot [A]. Hop to the left (staying low to the ground), landing on left foot and reaching right hand toward it [B]. Immediately reverse the motion, jumping to the right. Continue "skating" from side to side. |
