| Health & Support | anyone had a GOOD experience with yaz? | Feb 16 2009 11:02 (UTC) |

I agree yaz is the best. ^Haha yeah I swear my boobs are bigger when I'm on it too (probably only noticable to me but who cares lol) I'd say try it for one cycle and see how it goes, you will probably notice you have a lighter period when you come off it. What kind of horror stories? A few of my friends are on it too and we're all fine.

| Fitness | Flat stomach | Dec 15 2008 16:08 (UTC) |

I was like you at on point - years of trying to achieve it but always figuring I was built with just too much flab around the stomach area. Now I have the perfect stomach but it came at a price - my BMI is 14.9, yup, the only way to get the flat stomach for some people is to reduce all your body fat to a tiny percentage. Please know that I'm NOT ADVOCATING THIS!!! As a result, I'm underweight, cold all the time and even look kinda ill sometimes. I'm currently building muscle and gaining weight to be healthier but all the toning has kept off the flabbiness, I'm now just getting curvier (yeah baby :P). Please don't try and lose more weight, I would recommend planks which are a heck of a lot more effective than crunchies and stuff. Lie on your back, arms stretched above your head and lift your legs and head slightly off the floor, holding for 8 secs each time. Carry on with the walking for your general health and remember it takes everyone different lengths of time of to see results so don't give up! You're doing great. Oh one more thing, drink water, I mean it as much as you can guzzle the stuff down as it cleans out all your insides (sorry about the crappy termonology), gets everything moving and speeds up metabolism.

| Young Calorie Counters | Do your parents know anything about nutrition? | Nov 02 2008 14:13 (UTC) |

Aww don't be so harsh on your poor mum! (well you can..coz shes ur mum lol) Sounds like most parents if I'm honest. My mum however, is a vegetarian, allergic to wheat and dairy produce, allergic to chocolate and loads of types of glucose stuff so her diet is limited to rice, ricecakes, fruit and veggies....which all sounds very healthy but means she doesn't get enough calories. So basically she's always bombarded us with healthy food from the word go. Even if she doesn'y know toomuch about the actual nutritional content of foods, she knows whats healthy so we've always got tons of veg lying around!! |

I'm sorry but your b/f sounds like a prat...either that or you really need to spell it out to him. Next time he makes a 'fat joke' you could laugh so he doesn't think you're over sensitive but then say something like 'but seriously' and then tell him what's up. This guy should respect you and the time you spend together. Mention that answering the phone gives the impression he would rather be somewhere else.

I love Nandos!! Don't know if you have them in america but its a mexican style chain. They do the best chicken salad I've ever had (nice big portions too) and the spicy rice is to die for. Also the sides are good - mixed mexican nuts, ratatouille, that sort of thing :P |

Oxymoron, believe me I usually would but was in town all day and it was hard to grab something healthy! I admit I do struggle with what I eat but the soup was a big bowl. Anyhoo... had 2 slices of toast and some more ice cream since then (really unhealthy i know) . This is the problem I find skipping meals - you end up eating far more unhealthily :/ |

crystal, I have exactly the same problem. I tend to bum around not doing a lot at school so generally I don't need as much during that part of the day. I have a good breakfast which most of my friends don't so when they start scoffing chocolate and biscuits mid morning, I'm generally not hungry then..and get a load of stick for it! just eat what you feel comfortable with, however much that is..don't feel pressure to start eating just because other people are at a certain time though. However, I find that nuts are good for snacking on coz they are high calorie so you know you're getting what you need yet good for you too. |

| Motivation | Does anyone else get accused of being *too* thin? | Oct 22 2008 16:58 (UTC) |

I agree, it's so annoying when just because you choose to eat healthily, it's suddenly seen as not eating enough by everyone who has pizza or something everyday. As for calling someone too thin, no one would go up to a large person and be like I think you're too fat, stop eating!!! |

Yeah i'd way rather have muscle tone than just be skinny. Unfortunately for me though, lots of weight goes to my stomach(like a lotta ppl!) so when my stomach is nice and toned and flat, the rest of me looks really skinny coz you can't spot reduce |

Original Post by tothestarsxx: um what is wrong with them? haha sorry I just couldn't really imagine eating just an apple or a yogurt for lunch. You seem to have a good balance though. Well at my school, everyone has stuff from the cantine at break first, most of my friends get either a bacon roll, cheese toastie or a big cookie or cake! I've been brought up health concious so I have some sort of fruit usually. Then at lunch... friend 1: egg sarnies and walkers crisps friend 2: chips and mayo friend 3: Jacket potato, cheese and beans friend 4: Ranch salad with chicken in batter friend 5: Cheese and bacon panini then a cookie friend 6: ham sarnies and mcCoys chips Me: Tuna and sweetcorn pitta Yeah so they may not be the healthiest bunch but everyone is in the okayish weight boundaries so its all good :P |

| Young Calorie Counters | Increasing Calorie Intake | Oct 15 2008 20:10 (UTC) |

DON'T do it in one day!!! You'll gain like crazy and not in a good way. I'd reccommend an increase of about 200 cals every week until you hit 1600 - you'll maintain your weigh more then and your body will be able to cope |

| Foods | Cereal... | Oct 15 2008 19:55 (UTC) |

Haha I'm like you cereal is just too good. Hmmm...well I always try to go for the whole grain or bran types. And I have a big bowl in the morining if i want it, then it feels as if you've already had your cereal for the day. Also try chewing each mouthful and leaving a few secs between each spoonful swallowed...basically don't walf it down really fast or you'll feel unsatisfied and want more |
