I think he's just going to continue giving you a headache because he has no clue what HE wants. It sounds like he enjoys the attention you give him, but that he doesn't want to feel obligted to return the affection. I would say keep your distance, because I just don't think he has your best interests at heart like a real friend would. I think you did the best thing. I wouldn't erase his number, but I wouldn't make myself as available to him as you did before. Just text him in a few days and ask how he's doing if you want to keep the friendship, but watch out for signs that he's flirting. He either wants a relationship or a friendship, there's no middle ground.
Well, unless you want friends with benefits. But that's your decision. |

Absolutely. I don't measure, but I'm fixing to start. I haven't lost a pound this week but my pants are falling off of me straight out of the dryer (they used to be really snug out of the dryer) and my jacket's magnetic buttons don't pop open when I sit down. I'm super excited haha! So yeah, measurements are just as important as scales, even more so if you work out a lot. |

I was just preparing myself for the **** that's going to hit. I could already hear him saying that "he didn't lie, he didn't say anything false, so it wasn't a lie by technicality". Post 3 is the specifics of post 1. |

Alright, thank you. I figure there's going to be many interpretations, but hkellick summed it up for me. Basically my facebook status: "complicated" of a man said something he wanted me to misunderstand as the truth as to avoid me finding out what he really did (because he thought I would be upset), but I wouldn't buy into it, because I could tell he was acting shady. He's never lied to me before... that I know of... and I could tell something wasn't right. That's just it.. I wasn't even mad at what he did. I had gotten mad over it in the past, but I had since then learn to tolerate it so as to avoid going through fights about it. I didn't freak out until he lied to me. |

I did it, but heard about it on facebook. I'm a student though, so it's a lot more setting appropriate for me, haha. Luckily today is my day off or I wouldn't have been able too. That's just not very proffesional for a secretary. |

I've been like that too. I've just been attributing it to hormones and seasonal changes, though. I always get a bit more depressed when winter comes around. For a night owl I really thrive on light. If you're not too crunched for cash turn a few extra lights on, you might be amazed at the difference.. or go for some walks during your lunch break. It'll boost your mood and get you some much needed sunlight. Fresh air is allways good for the mind. Just try it once or twice and see if it helps. And don't fall into emotional eating! Find a set schedule and stick to it. I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. Some weeks I stay in the 1300 cals range, with a day for 1500, and some weeks I do 1500 cal days with one or two 1300. It's important to address the problem at hand, that's why a routine (with vaying calories so that your body doesn't get bored) helps out greatly. Your emotions don't need to be connected with your food intake at all! Feel free to message me if you just need to vent over crap happening in real life. Sometimes it helps just to have someone listen to you!

Most deffinetly. I find the food tastes fresher. I live in an agricultural area though, so it's a bit easier. Veggies are easy to find, and fresh fish, beef, eggs, and deer (when season opens). I learned a long, long time ago that fresh meat tastes a million times better than store bought. I'd rather not eat meat then eat it at a restraunt or grocery store that ships it in. I think it's excellent that you're taking that step and doing your part! In the spring, if you have a few flower pots and a bit of room to spare, you should try growing your own vegetables, or if nothing else just a few spices. It's my daily zen. I really enjoy gardening, and it's a great way to eat healthy and exercise (if your plot is big enough). |

| Weight Loss | I just don't get it - if it's so hard to eat 1200 cals, then why the weight problem? | Nov 13 2008 16:05 (UTC) |

Original Post by eerica: It's like everyone else said, it's a change in eating habits. It takes more nutritious foods to build up the calories. Some days I struggle to get to 1300- those are my oatmeal/salad/fish days. Some days I eat out for lunch like yesterday, indulge and get very full because i'm not used to restraunt sized portions, so I end up with 1400-1500 calories.. but I'm full at the end of the night, and only eat a small snack like half a pb&j or some yogurt just to stay in rhythm. I only go butt-wild on holidays and birthdays.. but even then I really doubt I do too bad. I've trained myself to look at food and not think "must eat ALL of it" but to think "that looks really delicious, but I only need a little bit to be happy". I work in a medical clinic, and Drug Reps bring free food and sweets ALL the time. I allow myself to always try something that I haven't had before, even if it's some sort of doughnut. The difference is I ask someone to split it with me. That way I don't miss out on life, but I can still work toward the life I want. |

Honey, if he's already getting the sex, then he has no reason to commit.
I like the cookie idea. Cheap, not too showy, but still says that thought about him and you took time out of your day to show make him something for him alone to enjoy. |

I don't know if you have a wooded area anywhere around, but some friends and I recently had a lot of "active" fun by raking up an epic proportion of leaves (think 4-5 ft tall, 4-g long, 3ft wide) and then jumping off of something high on to them. We used a trampoline mostly, but there have been times before that we have just used the deck. It's a lot more fun with the trampoline! Whoever said playing in the leaves is just for kids is missing out! I'm a 19 year old woman and I had a blast. |

| The Lounge | Online Dating | Nov 04 2008 18:44 (UTC) |

I play a few online games.. little text based browser centered RPG's... and I've gotten to know a lot of great people through it. I've never done the dating website thing.. it just seems so.. I don't know. It doesn't seem promising. The games I play have a sense of community.. You get to see how the person interacts with other people (in the forums, the chat, during wars) and real bonds are formed. I've been talking to a guy for a year now.. he lives too far away though and neither of us can commit. Wasted potential I guess... has led to a lot of heartache for me. You have to watch out for that. It didn't work for me, but it has for two other couples I'm friends with. My friend Lys (Australia) is moving to canada to be with Hunter who she has fallen in love with. I have another friend from England (Jersey) who is moving to Australia to live with a guy (Zarce) she also met through the game. Lys & Hunter haven't met, just survived on skype. Jersey has been to Australia visiting him a few times and has decided to make it permanent. The thing with online dating is that it's SOO easy to lie. You have to be yourself and be completely honest or else it will never work out. That's why I don't like dating profiles I guess.. they are just tailored to fit you know? Sometimes opposites attract. Love is a random thing.. and in my (limited) experience you shouldn't go labeling everything and looking for it.. it has to fall into your lap. |

"Having consulted with my colleagues and based on the information gathered from the Nigerian Chambers Of Commerce And Industry, I have the privilege to request your assistance to transfer the sum of $47,500,000.00 (forty seven million, five hundred thousand United States dollars) into your accounts. The above sum resulted from an over-invoiced contract, executed, commissioned and paid for about five years (5) ago by a foreign contractor. This action was however intentional and since then the fund has been in a suspense account at The Central Bank Of Nigeria Apex Bank....." |

Original Post by nomoreexcuses: I actually took that route. It was after her reply that I finally gave up. She said that the bible didn't mention it by word, but that it predicted the muslim religion much like it also predicted the 9/11 attacks etc etc and that many of the things predicted have been proven to be accurate. I replied with "The Book of Revelation can be considered accurate.. yes.. but so can my horoscope for this week" and then we moved back to more neutral topics. |

Original Post by trendstudent: You are the only person out of all the people I've shared this week who found fault in that. My little sister has autism, I'm fully aware of situations reguarding special needs kids. I was not judging Palin's child, I'm recongizing his limitations and poking fun at politicians. You may think I'm rude and sickening, but ma'am, I think you need to let loose a little bit. Laughter has what has gotten my family and myself through hard times, both economical and medical. Don't be so quick to presume that I'm lacking of empathy or hope. I also don't live in the clouds, and take a healthy dose of reality with every wish or dream I make for my little sister.

Original Post by miket53: I do something kind of like that, except it's more visual. Under my left hand on my wrist I write my goal weight in perm. marker, so that way any time I go to eat I glance at it before I get it to my mouth. It really helps me keep perspective. The only downfall is when people ask, "Why do you have "140" written on your wrist?" When I'm feeling cheeky I'll reply [nonchalantly] "that's the number the aliens tattooed on me after the abduction." but most of the time I'll go on to explain it's significance in how I'm trying to lose weight and get healthier.

Have you drank many diet drinks before?
When I first switched from colas to diet colas I felt like that. It faded after a week though. It was just my body going into withdrawels I think. Since then I've cut colas completely and only drink water, tea, and juices. I just used the diet drinks to wean myself off of that much a concentration of sugar & caffeine. |

I tried that and all I got was the standard, "I'm so sick of people calling me racist just because I want to vote for the white guy!" I only stuck around as long as I did to get her riled up. When the debate stops and the ignorance starts is normally when I take some time to get some laughs at the other's expense, and then I move on. I haven't talked to her since, and don't plan on it till after the election. This is my first year to vote.. and you learn a lot about the people who you consider friends during the process. |
