| yes, just "tag" the foods (click on the T to the right of the food ) , also you can tag groups of foods as long as you use the same tag name, for instance I eat a lot of oatmeal
so I have a group called oatmeal, then inside of it I have tagged: skim milk oatmeal equal when I eat that I just click on my tagged foods, then on the + , select on what meal I am having it and voila ! |

| Weight Loss | Is dieting really that hard? | Dec 11 2008 01:15 (UTC) |

| personally I have to say it takes willpower, but also when you count calories it is -less hard- to put it someway...
For instance, I try to eat better foods smaller portions, count them, basically right now I have a very good idea of how many calories I am taking, I eat then I write it down.
But as any other person I do have cravings, you know a piece of chocolate, a slice of pizza, but I have 2 approaches to this, normally on a regular day I kinda eat around my calorie max, ( 1750 ) I go to 1600, 1700 or so, sometimes less sometimes a bit more, but the days that I eat less compensate for the days that I eat more. now when I know I want to have a large meal maybe something from a restaurant or pizza or such, I kinda plan ahead, I keep my calorie intake for the day kinda low, then I have a satisfactory dinner. however once again I am human, and sometimes there's something everyone around you is eating and you just have to taste it, so I do it, and kinda, say I'll discount it tomorrow, or I already have it discounted. But I have learned that the worst part that makes you feel bad of the diet is actually not eating something that you want. so go ahead eat cake, pizza, chocolate anything, just play with the numbers ( or exercise) and well don't think about this as a competition, it's a lifestyle and you have all your life to get there, so take it easy... do it healthy and just wait.. |

Hi I did not read all the messages here, but here is what I know, I have had panic/attacks/ with agoraphobia for over 15 years, what you describe there is a panic attack, no doubt about it. Howerver there are conditions that mimic a panic attack, like low blood sugar, or the beginings of diabetes, or cetoacidosis, ( that can happen when you loose weight specially fat , fast ), there are other physical conditions that resemble the panic attacks, non of them are lethal but very annoying. always when a person, starts having panic attacks the FIRST thing to do is to go to a physician, and 99% of the people go to the ER thinking they have a heart attack, but the correct way to do it is to go to your primary care MD. tell him what is going on, let him run some tests on you ( to rule out possible physical causes ), ( if you are dieting please tell your MD ). after some blood tests, urine tests, and an EKG ( electro cardiogram ) and maybe if the MD thinks it's necesary a Heart Ultrasound, everything that can mimic panic attacks will be ruled out. after that you have to be refered to a pysiquatrist to get the proper medication, and treatment. now I have just a small advice, DO NOT LET IT GROW, don't let it pass months or weeks or days before you get your consultation or you could end up like me, with what is called anxiety syndrome with agoraphobia. also anxiety is a disease, it has to be medicated and all that, so please go and seek help ASAP.
hugs.
