Getting control of your diet will go a long way towards helping your weight issue; it will probably make more of a difference than fighting with the treadmill. This: "i won't eat a thing all day then end it with cookies" is exactly the wrong strategy. Eat breakfast everyday, don't skip it to compensate for poor eating the previous day; you're much more likely to binge later that way. Control your portions: eat slowly, concentrate on the flavor and texture of each bite, and chew for as long as possible. This will go a long way towards making you feel full eating less. And don't have cookies in the house! Get fruits/veggies/whole grains/etc for snacks instead. As for the treadmill, I agree with doingmybest, distract yourself. I originally did cardio to music, but it was not enough. I've since switched over to reading and it's made a world of difference. I actually started looking forward to getting on a machine when I'm in the middle of a good book; and when I'm engrossed I'm paying much less attention to how tired I am. An enaging tv show or movie could have the same effect. |
