How about a story about something he did or said to you that let you know how much he truly loves his fiancee? And then compare it to something funny he did for something he loved when ya'll were little? |

Original Post by gurl0411: I know what you mean. When I was first on here I kept getting frustrated because it seemed like everyone was having so much success and I was having none, even after I'd started exercising. A lot of people on here have a great deal of weight to lose, though, and it comes off faster for them. aurorasky - ahhh I hate getting weighed at the doctors. No matter what, the scale always says a lot heavier than I want. Well that's because I'm not naked and starving right after waking up! Since I moved back into my parents' house, I threw out my old cheapo scale and started using my mom's. It's much nicer and more sensitive and I'm very pleased with it. :) Good for you on the loss!! |

Go you! Self-confidence is what makes people sexy, not the dress. Although sexy dresses sure help. ;) |

Hey guys, I've been really slack too! Even after I said I'd try harder. So I've been back on CC for almost 3 months now. I got really frustrated the first 6 weeks or so because I wasn't losing any weight. I attributed it to muscle gain and got over it after a lot of fighting. But now it's finally started melting off! If the scale is being honest with me, I've lost about 4 pounds in the past 2 weeks. Yay! So just remember to stick with it. We can do it. :) For Thanksgiving I know I'm totally going to pig out. We have at least 20 family members coming over and there's always an overabundance of food. My family is CRAZY about these butter rolls.. I drool just thinking about them.. and I usually have close to 10 every year! I'm not going to stress about the food. I'm planning to run it off all week, plus I know my mom will be a slave driver making me clean, so that's more cals burned. Welcome to all the new people! :) |

I am currently between jobs, and I have been HORRIBLE with CC this past week now that I'm not sitting at a desk all day! I have been eating really badly.. but I think I'm at least staying around maintenance most days. Lots of pizza and fast food dinners, but I've been sleeping late.. so I eat breakfast around lunchtime, which subtracts a meal's worth of calories. Bad, bad, I know! There is no healthy food in this house right now and nobody feels like cooking. I don't think I ever set my goal on this thread, but I reached it today! I ran in my first 5k race today, a Turkey Trot. I ran the whole way and finished in about 35 mins, which is actually about 2 mins less than my treadmill time. Go me! :) It was a beautiful day outside too. I finished the "New Moon" book yesterday. Haha :D Guilty pleasure? The love story really sucks you in. It was hard to put down - very engaging even if the quality of writing isn't all that good. Bella's obsession with Edward is over-the-top. If you have any teenage daughters who are into the whole Twilight thing, I recommend talking to them in regard to her obsession. Young girls should understand that that is not realistic and not the way to live! That's just my 2 cents. But of course I still want to see the movie. :) Hope everyone is doing well! |

Haha I know exactly what you mean. I always look around the gym and wonder. Especially when people "look" at you like they might know you, and it just spins your head. I read Hungry Girl too but have a hard time finding some of the stuff where I live. BTW, have you tried the Baconnaise she suggested? OMG! |

It made me smile AND cry! Thanks for sharing! All of our animals are going to be so excited when my dad gets home from Iraq next spring.. but not as happy as me. :) I can't even watch the others posted because I know I'll bawl like a baby at work. Ha! |

annschmech - haha, touch and go! That's a good one. Glad it worked! :D kathiemfb - I know what you mean! We had horrible freezing (to me), rainy, dreary weather all of last week. I couldn't make myself go to the gym. After work it was straight home into sweatpants, under a blanket on the couch with TV and hot foods. Glad the sun is shining again, even if it still goes down earlier. Welcome aurorasky! I used to post on here a lot more often but I'm going to do better from now on! I know if I have to type out every thing I succeed or fail at, it's much easier to convince myself to succeed. :) I agree with eating out. You can't let yourself feel deprived! Remember, it's a lifestyle, not a diet. We are learning to make healthy choices that last a lifetime, and cutting out all of our favorite foods is not realistic sometimes. And we deserve to treat ourselves every once in a while! I finally got back into the gym last night. 3.25 miles on the treadmill (slowly); 0.5 of that was walking at different points. My TRX class is tonight, and I just learned about an open gym for volleyball on Monday nights that I may go to. I only know one person who goes and I barely know him.. but I need to be outgoing and meet new people. It will be fun.. right?!? How was everyone's weekend? |

I think people WANT to change, or WISH they could make themselves change, but it may take so long to reach their goals that they give up before they even start trying. It can be so overwhelming to realize it's going to take months and months of hard work that it might not seem worth it. Of course every wants to be able to snap their fingers and look perfect and be perfectly healthy, but that's just a wish that's never going to come true. What they should be saying is "I wish I could make myself change." |

I spent the weekend moving out of my condo back into my parents' house. Now that that stress is gone and I'm going to have a lot more free time, it's time to start earning more points for exercise! Glad your relative is doing better kyashiis. Hope everyone had a great weekend! |

Original Post by peasmum: I agree. One of the things that make her so hot is her confidence. Like afluffyadoreablebunny said, she knows she's hot. "If you got it, flaunt it." Right? Imagine how she might look if she were self-conscious. Not nearly as hot! The key is to have confidence in yourself and don't worry about what others think. That's what really attracts people. |

That's what one of the articles says. I've heard that she claims to be proud of the cellulite on her butt, but I still wouldn't doubt the lipo. |

Stay busy. Don't sit still. Don't watch TV. Go out and do something. Try something new. Write letters. Yeah, old fashioned ones! It's so much fun to get those in the mail. Familiar handwriting is a big comfort to me. Etc etc. Good luck! I hope you cure it. |

Original Post by amethystgirl: Same, exact same. And both periods are not quite extreme but pretty far over. I am either REALLY happy with myself or REALLY depressed. However, not depressed enough to do anything about it. There is a before/during/after video on youtube - "This should be required viewing for all teens and young adults" - it's crazy to watch. Outrageous. |

I got my big brother's name tattooed on the inside of my wrist after he died in a motorcycle accident three years ago. I did it because I see it constantly and it reminds me that he's still here to hold my hand when I need him. When I get something pierced, it's to draw attention to me. I got my nose pierced because I thought it would look really cute and make others notice me more. It wasn't due to low self-esteem, but rather to boost it a little bit because it made me feel cute and a little bit edgy. My ears are a different story. When I was young, I wanted my ears pierced because I thought it was a very grown-up thing to do. My mom had a rule that I couldn't get it done until I was 13 because she also thought it made me too grown up. She finally caved when I was 7 and I felt like I was the coolest girl on earth. :) |

Original Post by theprize: My family has Time Warner Cable but whatever package we get includes something like Fit TV on demand. I've always wanted to try it but just haven't gotten around to it! Now I have a little more motivation.. points! Have you ever seen Belly Dancing on one of those workout channels? That is something to giggle it. I know it's a great workout but it's hard to take them seriously.. so slow and sensual.. Maybe if I committed to doing it instead of watching it for entertainment, it would be a little different. |

My left foot starts to go number a little after 3 miles. I rarely run farther than that so it's not a big issue for me... Someone suggested the shoelace thing to me too, as well as purchasing some orthotics. Sometimes it may just be a bad shoe for yo. Runnersworld.com has a lot about tying shoelaces different ways for different results, just use the search feature at the top of the page. |

I don't live with my boyfriend, but whenever he visits I tend to overload. He's able to eat as much crap food as he wants without gaining a pound. But actually he can't eat as much food as I can. He's about 10 pounds less than me too, which makes me insecure sometimes. :-/ I don't know much about agoraphobia... Maybe you can find a cheap older treadmill or stationary bike at a yard sale, thrift store, or on craigslist and use it in your house? |

I don't like this either. I definitely have a small frame (especially for being 5'10"). When I did the two wrist measurements they both said small, but when I did that calculator it said I was large-framed. Whatever! |
