Personally I think your weight is your own business and your own responsibility. If you want to lose weight, go for it - but your friends shouldn't have to be your cheerleaders the whole way. Take ownership of your weight and do this for yourself.

At 155lbs you are only just outside the healthy weight range so there is no "hardcore, ugly, kill me now, I hate you-type truth" when it comes to your weight. In fact, they're right when they say you're not fat. Since when was a BMI of 25.8 fat?

Bulging Brides wouldn't look twice at your application... perhaps you should work on your self esteem and body image as much as your weight Tongue out

Now, that's what I call "I hate you" truth Tongue out

I guess I should have been a bit more specific.  I totally forgot that I have no stats on my profile.  I'm 5'4.5 and 155 lbs.  My measurements are 39-32-40.  That gives you a better idea.  I'm at the toned fat stage where I have flub, but definition.

My mom and I used to be fitness and nutrition buddies and I lost 30 of my 50 pounds and felt great.  But I've recently moved about 400 km away from her and have hit my plateau.  She is still doing amazing, is in the best shape of her life.  I'm stuck here with a boyfriend who doesn't support my eating habbits and who doesn't care about anything regarding health.  I always thought I could do it on my own, but I'm just not as independent as I thought I was.  It's funny how much you don't even realize how much you depend on other people for support and encouragement.  Whenever I didn't feel like going for a work out, my mom made me.  Now, I just don't go.  It's really a drag, isn't it?

My week is going pretty bittersweetly actually.  My hubby has left for a month and a half and I am so depressed that all I want to do is sit in front of my TV and eat myself stupid.  Instead of that I've decided that instead of feeling utterly sorry for myself I will keep myself busy and go to the gym every day.  Hopefully when he gets back I'll look so good he'll never want to leave again!

I hope your next week is better!!

If you're going to be lazy about losing weight then it's going to show.  There's no point in dieting and doing atkins, it's just going to put your body through hell.  You've got to start slow, from the sounds of it you've only just started your journey to hell and back.  Nobody said it would be easy, and it never will be so you might as well learn that now, accept it and do the right thing about it.  You're just going to prolong whatever goals you might have because the weight will come back if you don't take the right steps.  The whole point in losing weight is to get over being lazy, to become energetic and a healthy person, and doing what you're doing is not going to help any of those.  I've been trying to lose 50 pounds and it's taken me three years to lose half of that.  YOU MUST BE PATIENT!  It will take a long time to reach your goal but if you are truly dedicated to your deciison to get rid of that spare tire then you've got to be prepared to take the long way.  I know, it sucks, but deal with it.

Weight Loss *** Sleeping In Makes You Lose Weight?! *** Nov 13 2008

oversleeping actually is more likely to cause weight gain.  It's recommended that you only get about 8 hours of sleep a night.  You may burn maybe 2 times the calories by sleeping instead of watching tv or whatever, but imagine how much more you'd burn if you woke up at a decent hour and went for a morning jog or to the gym.  Don't get me wrong, I loves my sleep, LOVES IT SO MUCH!!  But when I oversleep, I become sluggish and lazy and I end up sitting in front of the TV anyways pigging out.
