hi ladies!
sorry i've been MIA for so long - we had a really difficult death in my family and everyone's been dealing with that for the past month or so. so as you can imagine, counting cals was the last thing on my brain! it looks as though in spite of some minor disagreements (which i'm sure will get sorted out) you are all doing AMAZING in your willingness to try and gain, so congrats! i don't know how much i will be posting on here anymore - but this tough time for my fam and i has lead me to want to do something i've been thinking about for awhile - START A BLOG! i'm really excited about it! maya- i've looked at some of your posts and damn girl you've got some gusto as my mama would say! it is so evident how hard you are trying. keep that mentality goin' sistah! it's almost as if gaining weight is like a "workout" for your brain and emotions! it's taxing, no? agru- glad to see you've been mixing it up with the snacks! keep your head up girl. i know you work hard to keep this thread fair to all. tessa- your new pic looks beautiful! zeb- my greek yog-lovin' lady, your menus still amaze me!

agru: i really really hope you feel bettah girl! petite: i'm with ya on the carrot cake - i lurve it and the bar is sadly no comparison. cool mint chocolate is bomb! heated up in the micro nom nom! it kinda reminds me of a thin mint girl scout cookie taste-wise, no? rest of today: Snacky snack: Clif nectar dark chocolate walnut bar (this was HEAVEN, way better than jocolat imo - 160) and an oikos (90) = 250 DinDin: rest of my wild rice (little more than a half cup - 100), brussels (50), 1/2 cup shelled edamame (120) all topped with tons salsa (it makes everything better folks (40). Then I realized this simply wasnt going to cut it as dinner, so I added in a baked sweet p (180) with almond butter (200). A marvy combo! = 690 Dessert: cup of cottage cheese (215) mixed with peaches (65) and more almond butter (200), and topped with copious amounts of cinnamon. delish! = 480

agru: ahh, bagels. my one true love. oh wait, there's almond butter, pumpkin, lattes, hummus...eek i'm one bizzay lady! this time i bought thomas's hearty grain bagels but i must admit i was not a fan. they are too "bready" for me i guess. i like the thick, doughy bagels. i like to get the mini ones from my grocery store brand since they seem to have that type of texture. i just toast up 2, top with nutbutter, and i'm swingin'! as for counting restaurant calories. many list counts on their websites, but if they don't i just log what a can physically see (a piece of tofu for example). i know what cups/oz portions look like now for the most part. if i can tell something's been or in a sauce/oil, i add a tbsp of veggie oil and call it a day! i know a lot of places are notorious for using wayyy more than 1 tbsp of fat for cooking, but i'd rather underestimate and be safe, ya know?
onto today's eats so far then? alright, lezzzzzzzzzzzgo! Break: Fage (130), almonds 170, and chopped apple (80). 1/2 pita (75) with mighty maple (90) = 545 Study break: Pumpkin spice latte (holy deliciousness - 200) and a kashi tlc bar (140). = 340 Lunch: Ww pita (150) stuffed with guac (100), laughing cow (50), and baby spin (20), plus some flax/soy tortilla chippies (200) and salsa (25) plus baby carrots (35). Another juicy apple for dessert (80). = 660 Snack: 1.5 cups Kashi Autumn Harvest (285) with almond milk (40). = 325 can you sense that i love love love fall? |

bluide: yup, zeb listed those marvy seasonal flavas! pumpkin pie is my fave of course, and i know you'll love it too my fellow pumpkin princess! (hello alliteration! english 202 what whaaaaat)
So today was spentabulous! my mama came to visit me and we spent the day together, so i didn't have a "meal plan" but as im logging now i realized i made over 2500 today, so here goes: Breakie 1 (w/out momz): bagel (240) toasted with laughing cow (50) and an OJ (110). plus the rest of my rasps (50) = 450 Breakie 2 (mama was starvin when she got up here, so we made a beeline to the local fave diner. you know, the one thats open all through the night for the truck drivers and students) i got two eggs scrambled (200) with home fries (150) and a fruit salad (60) plus some undocumented bites of my vegan mama's rye toast....hehe. plus mucho coffee with milk (obvs) = 430 Lunch (was more snacky considering my two breakies): almonds (120), kashi granola bar (140), apple from the farmers market back home (80), a banana (130) with pb (120) and snowpeas (40). = 630 Dinner: (took advantage of large restaurant portions Dessert: Decaf cappuccino (70) and an oatmeal raisin cookie the size of my face (300) = 370 later on i'm gonna try to get in some more fruit. i like to think of my meals as what healthy things can I add to them as oppose to what foods do i need to take away. probably mixed with some oatbran and pb, so im looking at around 400 cals total = 2870! |

hey everyone! glad to see people's health improving, last week it seemed like so many people were sick! crossing my fingers it doesn't happen to moi - go mah flu shot yesterday, hurt like a you know what! well here are my eats today thus far: Breakie: Latte (170) and cinny-raisin bagel the size of my face haha (350) plus cream cheese (100). I was totally craving this so when I undulged it was positively sinful teehee, and I loved every second! = 620 Snack: Banana (135) with PB (200) = 335 Lunch: Roasted veggie salad (110) avec balsamic vinegarette (40) with a sweet p plain jane (180) and a veggie burger with the usual condiments (catsup, moostard 120) = 450 Snack: lots of tortilla chips (260) and guacamole (200) = 460 |

agru: SO glad you're feeling a bit better! and yeah, scales at the docs are nutso. my aunt is a nurse and says they don't recalibrate them nearly as much as they should so they're often wrong. myvalentine: 1.5 is a good amount and i def wouldn't reduce. like smash said, you don't want to end up losing! good job! be good to yourself, and the positive thoughts will follow |

hey hey heyyy i've got a case of the mondays - all day i've felt like i should be friday! yikes! anywy, here's today's eats: Breakie (this was amazing btw): 3 vans waffles (255) smothered in mighty maple (180). Plus a cup of raspberries (50) with a large dollop of fage (35) = 530 Snack: Orange juice box (110), pb pretzels (160) and box of those delicious little buggers called raisins (90) = 360 Lunch: Rest of my fage (95) mixed with dark chocolate chips (65) and almonds (65). plus a huge perfectly ripe barlette pear (105) and an odwalla protein bar (240) = 570 Snack: Latte (how could i not? 170) and an oatmeal cookie (200) = 370 Dinner: Can of Amy's lentil veggie soup (lord knows ya girl needed some veggies! - 300) plus a toasted bagel (260) with hummus (40) = 600 Dessert: Tea with milk and honey and a bowl of oatmeal (150) cooked in almond milk (40) topped with banana nut granola (160) and AB drizzzzzz (100) = 450

Baby carrots (40) with hummus (50). A juicy shiny red apple (75) = 630 Snack: Fage (130) with chopped up lara (i felt sad mangling this beauty 210) plus tea with milk and honey (50) = 390 Dinner: Grilled chicken (120) with lotza spicy red curry sauce (205) with brown rice (200). agru: thank you for your kind words sweetheart! as for me, i know it took me getting to 3000 cals to see any gain, even w/o exericse. i think walking to class and working were more demanding than i thought! if it weren't for you and the other lovelies on here i don't know if i wouldv'e had the courage to up my cals so much. stay strong chickadee!
rest of todays eats (i am typing this while watching old school with my friends - SUCH a hilar movie!): Lunch: at a cute italian place! i had two pieces of cheese pizza. i'm not really a pizza person but this was delish! (i'm guessing 600 since they were large) =600 Snack: small cappuccino (70) and a yogurt parfait (350) = 420 Dinner: 2 cups black bean soup (300) plus a baked sweet p (can't get enough! 180) with earth balance (100) and broccoli (40). then i threw some cheddar bunnies in mah soup for added deliciousness (150) = 770 Dessert (will be): a protein yogurt mix! protein powdah (120) plus fage (130) with raspberries (50) and a large handful almonds (130) = 430

bluide: can i come over and eat witchu? your menu looks bangalangin'! i've heard venison is da bomb, but haven't gotten to try any myself yet. what's it like? as for feeling guilty - i totally understand. we are eating far more than we're used to and sometimes when we do something out of the normal mode it feels icky. sometimes talking to my food helps (this might sound a little weird haha). i look at my sandwich and say, "sandwich, your ooey gooey peanut butter and sweet delicious banana look so divine, who wouldn't want to eat you?" or sometimes i color while i eat. wow, i sound like a kindergartener hehe, oh well! hope that helps, and keep truckin' you are SO STRONG!

Hey you guys! How was everyone's weekend? Give me the deets! Mine was very fun - full of friends and food. And there may or may not have been an oreo mcflurry eaten, but i won't tell if you won't! Today: Breakie at my friend's apartment: Coffee (aah the elixir of life!) with milk and suga (45). Apple (75). 3 pieces of ww toast (240), 1 with PB (100) and 2 with butter and honey (ladies do this now! your tastebuds with thank you! 140) = 600 On the road home: Clif Builders Bar Chocolatte (this smelled like hot cocoa but tasted like a stale brownie. thumbs pointed down) = 270 Lunch (much improved): Wegmans salad bar!!! Salad fixin's (green, maters, cauli, fennel, pepps), sundried tomato hummus, 2 heapin' cups beans salad (one was curried quinoa and chickepeas and one was tricolored) =700 I was still starvin' so I munched on...OATMEAL (it's been too long my love!): 1/2 cup oats (150) with jam (35) and ab (150) = 335 Snack: Fage (130)with an apple cinnamon zbar (120) and a nanner (105) = 355 Dinner: 2 pieces veggie lasagna (580) plus some roasted zucchini (50) = 630 Now i'm off to do some reading of the biology subject matter and eat some delish kashi cookies with milk = 350

One more day til FRIDAY!!!!! mashed: save some for meeee gah that muffin sounds amazuh! agru: glad you had a great day! you're correct, i'm not recovering from an eating disorder, but i'm borderline underweight (def. underweight for my build) due to illness and i haven't had my period for 8 months. so that's why i'm trying to gain. that being said, i have never been overweight, and until i became sick i enjoyed food a lot! i am a psychology major specializing in abnormal and have a mother who overcame ed, so i am sensitive to the subject. speaking of mama, she gave me this pearl of wisdom today when i was venting to her about the food baby i've been carting around for the last week (haha!): "Think about the people in your life that mean the most to you and the boys you've dated. were their appearances a factor in how much you loved them?" The answer is NO! yeah my mama speaks da truth! food baby schmood baby! Anywhooo, onto today's eatz: Breaking my fast: Fage (130) with 1/3 cup oats (100), jam (35), A to Buttah (150), crumbled zbar (120) plus a kiwi on the side (50) = 585 Snackage: Pumpkin spice latte!!!! (170) plus an apple with pb (275) = 445 *myvalentine: my school serves Peet's coffee, which is awful. however i can tolerate their lattes. there is ONE cart on campus that serves Seattle's Best, and i do make the trek there when the occasion calls - sooooooo good! Lonch: BBQ Tofu (170) with a large salad of roasted zucchini, black beans, tomatoes, and corn (210) plus tortilla chips (170) and lots o' salsa (30). What up ladies?! Hope everyone's doing well! I'm a tad paranoid cuz my campus has caught some swine flu! Three kids are in isolation right now - crazy stuff. Is this happening near anyone else? Today (to be contunueeeeeeeed) Breakie: 1/2 cup oats (150) with 1/2 cup pumpkin (40), cinnamon, and Barney Butter! (this stuff is holy deliciousness - 180). Toast with superfruit jam on da side, just cuz! (150) = 520 Snack time: Orange (85) and a kiwi (50) and some fage (130) = 265 Lunch: Annie's Mac n cheese (230) mixed with asparagus (20) and 1/2 cup pumpkin (oh yes i did! and it was so gooood - 40). Tuna (100) and crackers (130). Cup of sugar snap peas (50). = 570 Lunch Dessert: dark chocolate = 180 Snack: grabbed a random nanner = 135 Dinner (Mexican potluck aye aye aye!): Tortilla chips (130), tons o' guac (170), black bean and corn salsa (50). A delicious vegan enchilada with tofu and beans! (350) topped with more salsa (30) = 730 Snack (not yet eaten but this sounds good): Almond butter and honey sammy (450) and glass of milk (90) =2940 |

Hey hey it's been a while - impromptu road trip this weekend! Today's eats: Bfast: on the go! Latte (170), banana (135), and pb&j larabar (210) = 515 Snack: Luna Bar (190) and nectarine (50) = 240 Lunch: Sammich with tofurky, mustard, and tomato (290), raw asparagus and snap peas (55) with hummus (100), annie's cheddar bunnies (150) = 595 Snack: Baby carrots (35) with pb (210) and a box of raisins (90), Glass of OJ (110) = 445 Dinner: Amys Brown Rice Veggie Bowl (250) with 1/2 cup black soybeans (120), side salad with evoo (170) = 540 Dessert: Vanilla oikos (110) with 1/2 cup pumpkin (40), kashi crunch! (95) and heapin' handful of almonds (170) = 415 Dessert 2 after i lift a few weights: Naked Juice Protein Zone = 250
=3000 on the nose! (although i didn't count the bite of cookie i had - never know how to count baked goods cuz they very so much!) question: do you guys this i had too much soy today? with the soybeans, luna bar, tofu in the amys meal, kashi, and tofurky i'm a little nervy.... |

Hey hey all! Today's eats (thus far and to be continued!) Bfast: 1/2 cup oats (150) with 1/2 cup pumpkin (50), dark chocolate dreams - love! (170) and a dollop of vanilla oikos (25) and a nanner on the side (110) = 505 Snack: White Chocolate Macademia Clif bar = 240 Lunchies: ww tortilla (130) with mashed 'cado (100), black beans (90), salsa (20), pepperjack (80) and hummus (50). baby carrots (35) and an apple (75) on the side. = 580 Snack: The rest of my vanilla oikos (85) with bloobs (35), AB (100) and sliced almonds for some crrrrrrunch! (35) = 255 Snack dos: two more tbsp of almond buttah (200) Dinner (in the micro now!): Annie's mac n cheezay (230) mixed with a tuna pouch (90) and peas (70) plus a side salad with evoo and vinegar (135) = 525 Dessert: got some calories to make up so i'm gettin' a large milkshake when i go out tonight! This should be good fuel for a late night! (700+, i checked out steak n shakes stats for this cuz thats probably where we'll end up)

Today's plan: Bfast: 3 egg omelette with green peppers and onions (240) cooked in what i found out later was liquid shortening Snack: Apple (90) plus pb and honey sammich (280) = 370 Lunch: 2 cups flax cereal (290) with almond milk (40) plus another apple (90) with 2 tbsp mighty maple pb (170) = 590 Snack: Baby carrots (35) and 1/2 tub hummus (150). =185 Snack: Coconut Cream Pie larabar (210) =210 Dinner: Vegetarian chili from home that i had frozen (280) plus some cheese (120) and crackers (130) with almonds (70) - combine the almond cheese and cracker in one bite - it's the best! = 600 Dessert: big glass of milk (150) and two kashi cookies (260) with a dollop of AB (100) = 510 =2955

Good job everyone on doin' what you gotta to get healthy! everyone knows what's best for them, and if it's working for you, keep it up! Since I just started 3000 cals a week ago (and finally saw a gain this week!) I find it helpful to count since my body is definitely not used to this load yet! Plus, I feel it might help others on here, give ideas etc. Today's eats: Bfast: Nature's Path Instant oatmeal (210) with a banana (105) and PB (180) = 495 Snack: Latte (170), pb and honey sammy (shoutout bluide! 280) = 450 Lunch: "Tuna Salad" with a packet of tuna (80) mixed with half an avocado (160) with crackers (130). plus celery (15) and carrots (35) with hummus (50) and a big apple (100). Plus some liveactive cottage cheeeeze (90) = 660 Snack: Clif bar (250) and a plum (30) = 280 Dinner: Chicken (130) with green beans and bell peppers in asian sauce (120) over brown rice (210). Edamame (120) Tea with milk and honey (40) = 620 Dessert (will be): 2 servings PB Puffins (220) with Chocolate Silk (140) = 360
