I have one and I really like it. I got it in September when the Wii fit plus came out. I do not use it instead of working out of the gym but use it more for my off days and just to play. I like it because the wii plus gives you a calorie count for the activites you are doing. I am addicted to the hula hooping. The plus also lets you put together a routine or do one that is already created that combines strength/cardio/yoga. The plus as the added feature of some "games" such as biking, skateboarding, juggling, etc. I also have Gold's Cardio - it is a cardio boxing game that uses 2 Wii remotes. I find that I have often built up a bit of sweat doing it and it feel like a real workout. I also have the biggest loser game and jillian micheals 2010. Nothing really great about either of them. They can be played with or with out the fit balance board. I do not have but I have heard great things about AE Active. I have heard that there is a new version coming out soon with more activities and I was holding out for that. I think that it can be used with or without the balance board. |

I had this happen to me too. I was wearing my HRM and the man next to me started to complain that he couldn't get a reading for his HR off the machine. I could tell he was getting annoyed, making big gestures to see if the other machines were reading HR etc. I took out my earphones and told him that I was wearing a HRM. I told him that I needed to keep a close watch on my HR while working out for medical reasons, (which was BS) and put my earphones back in. He did shut up and was able to get his own heart rate once he held the sensors long enough. |

I think it is all a matter of finding what works for you. It has been a three year process for me to get from 208 to my lowest of 136... unfortunately I have gain some back, but have started to get it back off. I always have found it somewhat difficult to stay within my calorie allowance. I try to keep it between 1400 – 1600. I had a trainer tell me to use a format of Breakfast – 200 - 300 calories, Lunch – 300 – 400 calories, Snack – 150, Dinner – 400 – 500, Snack – 150. Which in theory seems ok, but it doesn’t work with my hunger. I tried it, but problems were dinner and snack. I would end up with a dinner that was more like 600 calories and by the time my last snack rolled around I was still hungry and those 150 calories, easily became more like 400 – 500. Now I have worked this around a bit and this seems to be working for me. Breakfast (7AM) – 200 – 300 (coffee, egg/egg whites, one toast), Snack (10:30AM) – 150 – 175 (Oatmeal, fruit, or cereal), Lunch (12 – 1 PM) – 200 – 300 (salad, frozen meal, soup, or left-overs), Snack (2:30PM) – 50 – 150 (fruit or yogurt), Dinner (4:30PM) – 300 – 400 (small meal), & Dinner (8PM) – 300 – 400 (small meal) |

I would have to say potatoe chips. They have always been my weakness. When I was at my heaviest I was eating them everyday, my "treat" at the end of the day while watching tv. The problem was I could never stop until the bag was empty. (No big secret as to why I was over 200lbs) Now they are just the occasional treat worked into my calorie allowance for the day... and just a small bag. But boy oh boy if they were calorie free, the crumbs would fly! |

I do feel satisfied for the whole day. So perhaps playing around with when you are eating may be important. |

Was just at the Real Canadian Superstore and saw that they also have Sol Cuisine burgers, and not just the regular ones, but a couple of other choices, in their health/frozen food section. |

I also love the mexican ground round. It is awesome for taco salad. Once I cooked ground beef and used ol' el paso seasoning mix for my boyfriend's tacos and I made myself a salad. He ended up eating some of the Yves because he thought it tasted better. What type of meals do you use the other flavours for? I have used the Italian in spagetti, but the Asian I have never tried. |

Original Post by lillivictor: I can buy it in Wal-mart now! I found it there in the frozen organics/health food section. Four patties cost $4.97. Sometimes I put a little montreal steak spice on them for a little extra kick. And I do like Yves, their chick'n burger is a frequent choice. But I do like these better then their regular burger. |

I love Sol Cuisine's meatless burgers. For 110 calories per patty, it allows me to have my burger "treat" and keep the meal really low cal. I have tried a lot of vegetarian burgers and this is one of my favorites. And Canadian, the company is the GTA. I have it on a roll, loaded with tomato, lettuce and onion, with a side of sweet potatoe fries. Oh Heaven. And all for about 350 calories. |

I did have water with me the day on the treadmill. I was also wearing my HRM. My HR was high, but it was normal for the workout I was doing. I am a constant eater... I like to say I eat like a hobbit. Breakfast... second breakfast... lunch... second lunch... As for the tests done, the paramedic did test my blood sugar, immediately after the first incident with fainting which was normal (my co-workers called an ambulance that time). Later after the second time I went to see my medical professional I had blood work done and a EKG, which showed nothing. |

Like others I have found that cardio machines, this site, and other exercise charts, give me a higher calorie count then my HRM. I know that weight loss is not a simple math equation, but I do keep a chart in exel tracking the number of calories consumed and burn to figure out what should be my expected weight loss each week. Before the HRM I found I was often frustrated because I wasn't seeing the results I was expecting, but with the HRM I find my tracking is much more accurate. I also like the HRM because it is a means of knowing if I am working out hard enough. I don't enjoy being "uncomfortable" so sometimes when I am doing my cardio, whether it is on the bike, treadmill, or crosstrainer, I find I tend to ease up and sort of coast along. Seeing my heart rate it gives me immediate feedback that I need to step it up. |

I bought a Polar F6 last week. So far I am loving it. I got the F6 because it also calculates calories burned in my workouts. At first I was disappointed to see that the F6 gave me a lower calorie count then the machines were giving me, but realized that I am better off with a more accurate number. I say more accurate, because all the machines were going by was my weight. With the F6 I had to put in my birthday, gender, weight and height, which is all used, along with my heart rate to determine my calorie burn. With the lower calorie burn from my HRM I have adjusted my calories I am consuming, hopefully I will see better results on the scale. I have a scale that also gives me a body fat percentage. I know that these are not accurate, but will take a BF reading once a week, although I weigh myself every morning. I can see that it is consistantly lowering. I think if I were to take my BF everyday I would see a great varied readings. |

I actually had a few this week; Ran for 40 minutes straight, 3.4 miles. Yippee! Hit a total of 70lbs lost (Since I started making healthy changes 3 yrs ago). My size 6 dress pants are almost too loose to wear. The idea that I might have to get a size 4 is just crazy to me. I had kept a bin of clothes from 3 years ago. My thinking was that if I wasn't successful I didn't want to have to buy all new "fat" clothes. I went through the bin and I put on my old favourite cords and top. I was so hard to believe that those size 16 were once snug on me, they hung off of me, and went I let go of the pants they fell to the floor. I put all the clothes in a bag to be donated. |

Original Post by cellophane_star: I picked up that Timex HRM on Thursday and I returned it today. I was having difficulties with it and I did alot of research online, reading consumer reviews, manufactures websites, and different forums... anyway I found nothing positive about the Timex Road Trainer HRM. I even read that it was very poor for a calorie estimate. Everything that my so called helpful sales person said, I found conflicting info online. She even discouraged me from buying a Polar. I had no problem returning it and did end up with a Polar F6. The manual seems so much easier to understand. I feel that it will be more accurate for the simple fact that it asks for lots of information such as gender, age, height and weight... the Timex only asked for weight. Looking forward to using it tomorrow at the gym. It cost the same as the Timex. |

I just got a Timex Road Trainer at Sportchek. They had other types such as Polar, Garmin, and MIO. I looked on line and Future Shop also sells them online and in store, the Running Room again online and in store, I think any where that sells electronics or sports items would carry something. I paid 129 for mine. The girl working was very helpful and reccomended the one I got. I think some of the polar ones were about $99 at Sportchek. |

If you are burning 2000 calories a day just being alive... and you only ate 1392 calories then you have a deficit of 608 calories. Plus you exercised and burned another 775 calories. Which means you have a deficit for today of 1383. It is advised that you keep your deficit to about 500 - 1000 calories per day. This will give you a weight loss of 1 - 2 lbs per week. Which is what is advised for healthy weight loss. |

SW - 146.8 CW - 142 Down 4.8 lbs for January. Which makes a total of 15.6 lbs since November 2nd. I am hoping to get to 132 by April. I am also a fan of biggest loser and I agree that some times it has made me feel bad about my own weight loss, but I know that I am doing it the right way. Slow and steady... In 2006 I was 207.

I just bought a rice cooker and it cooks brown rice perfectly. But it does take a little longer. I love my rice cooker because it also allows me to steam veggies at the same time. Cooking it in a pot on the stove top takes about 40 minutes plus. Only trick I do is cook a big batch and freeze it in portions so when I come home hungry all I have to do is cook my fish... or whatever I am having, and heat up the rice in the microwave for a few minutes. I find it to be a real time saver and keeps me eating healthy. Rice does freeze really well. I can't tell the difference between the fresh cook and that that has been in the freezer. |

I have been on this weight loss journey for about three years. Starting at 207 and presently 142. I also had a poor diet growing up, not terrible, but not great. And when I was on my own it went from bad to worst. When I first started to lose weight I depended on a lot of processed foods. I felt comfortable with seeing the information right on the package... but was really only looking at the calories, not the rest of the nutritional information. I did see success, but learned more and more about nutrition and began to experiment more with my foods. My old favorites included tacos, mac and cheese, fried fresh fish, french fries, etc. I have made changes to how these foods are prepared and still enjoy them. Taco's - Now are taco salad. Tons of veggies, a half ounce of cheese, half cup of Yves Mexican ground round (or extra lean beef), one taco shell, and mix salsa and fat free sour cream as my dressing. Gives me that taco taste, but a heck of a lot less calories then the 4 plus overfilled tacos I used to eat. Mac & Cheese - whole wheat pasta, cheese sauce made with light margarine, skim milk and light cheddar, broccoli and cauliflower - equal parts veggies to pasta. Just Awesome. Fried fish - learned how to bake fish. I love it, instead of a breading or batter I use spices and herbs. More flavour then my old fried friend. French fries - I still love them. But now I bake them. Put them right under the broiler to get crisp. Don't notice the difference, still feel satisfied. Oh and my old friend pizza... yup I still eat that too. I will pick one up in the freezer section every once in a while. Now I choose one with whole wheat crust thin, low fat cheese, and veggies. And instead of eat the whole thing, I will have half with a salad. And salad... I only used to like them with full fat creamy dressings. Now I just use vinegar, love red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar. So my best advice for a more healthy diet is to learn to make small changes to your favorites. It doesn't matter how healthy a food is if you don't enjoy eating it. You need to feel satisfied from what you are eating. Find recipes that make your favorites healthier, or products that are an improvement on what you were eating... like my whole wheat pizza. Find fruits and veggies that you enjoy... I never thought I would be excited about fruit, but knowing that I have some fresh pineapple in the fridge for dessert makes me happy. Find healthy snacks that you enjoy. I never ate nuts, but now I love them. Best of luck to you. |

I had a birthday and my burn meter went down 10 calories. For every lb I loss my burn meter goes down about 10 too. Remember a smaller body takes less energy to move. Have you had a loss? When you do exercise you have the amount you burn... your case 600 calories, when you add it, the burn meter does add it, but you have to consider that during that hour you exercised you body burned calories just for existing. The burn meter doesn't count both. So in you case the hour you were on the bike you burned 600 calories, if you were on the couch, you still would have burned 100 calories... Clear as mud? Perhaps someone can explain better.

1.) Whats your sleep pattern like? (before bed rituals, time gone to bed, sleep habits, time waking up, waking up through the night, etc.) I am usually in bed by 10, before I go to bed I brush my teeth, wash my face, put cream on. I get my dogs... they sleep with me. I turn on my fan, I use it to block out any noise. I will read for a little while if I need to unwind, or it I have something that I am into. I sleep from about 10:30 PM till 7 AM. 2.) When it's late, and you can't seem to fall asleep what do you do? I am very lucky that this is not a problem for me. I have never had sleep problems. I am almost always a sleep shortly after my head hits the pillow. The odd time that it does happen I will read. |

I wouldn't stress about 35 calories, unless of course you are feeling like you want/need more food. Are you satisfied with your meals? Your dinner looks great. But breakfast and lunch work leave me hungry... I would need more protein and fiber. I would have oatmeal (with fruit and a little splenda) or kashi crunch for breakfast, they do keep me satisfied and give me the sweet that I like. For lunch a huge salad with protein, your egg whites, or chicken... Do you exercise? I do, just so those little extras don't matter. Just an extra few minutes and it is like the extra 35 calories didn't happen ;) |

When my parents were staying with me awhile back my dad eat one of my Yves Veggie wieners. He has heart issues, possible a result of his hot dog addition..lol. My mom had been buying him low fat beef versions and to our great surprise he liked mine better then the low fat ones. I have never tried a low fat one, so I can't say, but it might be worth a try for you. |

I would try eating food in the AM. You don't actually eat until lunch. I find that eating in the morning keeps me more satisfied for the day. If time is an issue, try instant oatmeal or hard boiled eggs, you can make them the night before. |
