lol @madamq, l have been logging around these 2XXlbs and no muscles to show till l started lifting weights recently.

This arguement works for a cardio junkie with a weight lifting problem like me....best of both worlds...lol

Resistance bands like someone mentioned above is good and cheap and you can do a lot of exercises with them at home.

Melkor and spirochete totally rock, after reading their many posts here, l decided to venture into the weight room, l am deadlifting 200lbs and squating 120lbs as of yesterday, still no bulk insight, lost weight but no bulk and most importantly, no loose skin in sight going on 3months now.

IMO the frame of reference for these women/girls are either not real women or they are looking upto some anorexic waif looking celebrity who is probably on cocaine diet or on a diet of alchohol and diet pills.

A lot of the celebrities that are in shape, do quite a bit of strength training and body weight exercises. Add that to a lil bit of plastic reconstruction, botox, restylane e.t.c here and there and they look perfect! If you doubt it, look at their pictures before they became celebrities and now.

What l don't understand is why a person is striving to look like a celebrity to each his own l guess.

if you have a slow cooker, you could make soups or stews or roasts and when lunch or dinner time comes you will have food. l love my george foreman, grilled chicken breast is done in 5mins. You can throw in potatoes in the toaster oven or microwave and have a meal in under 30mins otherwise plan ahead and freeze/refrigerate.

hello everyone, how are you all  doing? sorry about the weather for the people who still have snow, it is still cold here but it is sunny so we can walk outside. l don't know if it is the group but last week l managed to exercise everyday.

Somehow my focus has shifted from simply losing weight to being healthy with the side effects of looking and feeling fabulous. Don't get me wrong, the numbers on the scale is still high, but l am liking the figure that is emerging from the shadows of the fat lady that used to be me....lol

l am lifting heavier weights now, after Saturday's session my thighs cried every time l go to sit down and stand up. But l got up and got in that gym yesterday after a 12hour shift!!

I used to have a friend who was a personal trainer who was jelous of how fast I bulk up but I just put it down to having trained so much when I was yonger, like if you've had big muscles in the past they bulk up quicker if you excersise again I'll have a look at some of the stuff people have posted here though it would be nice to be able to tonne more without bulking, I've lost 14lbs now so I'd love to get more in shape.

so maybe go swimming for say....7days?

the simple but not so easy way to lose weight is to first of all calculate how much you burn everyday, (then figure out using the tools here) how much you need to eat to lose weight and stick to it.

It takes discipline and accountability, if you do a crash diet and lose weight, it will all come back plus more something that you are well aware of. So go easy on yourself, you didn't gain the weight overnight and it won't meltoff overnight.

l suspect that you have an idea of what to do, goodluck.

Maybe you're lifting too heavy since there seems to be a huge population of women on this board who bulk up lifting 5-8lbs!

Good idea, l think l will try using the bottle of fat free fish oil, do you think that'll be enough weight?

Hi, how is everyone doing? l did not get to weigh myself today because l didn't go to work today (l weigh myself at work every week) but l started walking outside on Thursday and boy did l walk!! friday l went to the gym being a cardio junkie l did my usual 75mins and 30mins of weights. Today though my husband decided to introduce me to what he calls 'the big boy workout' .

Dietwise, l eat anywhere from 1800 to 2000cals.

Question for those who have lost and gained it back, what is the single thing you would attribute gaining back weight to? If you lose it again what would you do differently to keep it off?

that is my theory too and l'm stcking to it. l had to start lifting weights with my husband, his stomach disappeared but he didn't lose that much actual weight.  l figured if it worked for him, it will work for me too.

l would add those egg whites to the cake since the recipe already calls for egg whites, but what is egg white substitutes?

l am always modifying recipes so l would use eggwhites instead of the eggwhite substitues.

to look fab in 12hours, l would relaxxxxxx, listen to some soothing music, get your hair and nails done if you havent already, get a massage if you can afford it and get some rest then go out there and knock em outta the ball park. They aint ready for you......lol

BTW what kind of show is it? are you the performer?

About that zit, l heard that toothpaste works not the gel kind though, and if not use makeup to mask it and if everything else fails, wear it like it is the new accessory in town.

congratulations on your weightloss, when l started lifting weights my weightloss stalled for 3weeks, l was told that muscle will retain water and that it could last upto 6wks. 

l stuck with it and have been losing steadily since then. Stick with it and reevaluate your diet, you will get to your goal.

l also do the elliptical and treadmill for 75mins or more anywhere from 3 to 5days a week, and l dont get any knee pain. My legs threaten to give out though if l run for longer than 10mins on the treadmill though.

l'm all for it, count me in!!!Nina here, l started my weightloss jouney on Nov. 5th and here are my stats

SW :269

CW:237

GW : under 200

l pretty much have the calorie count and my eating under control, and l am currently happily trying other foods that l have never even heard of before this weightloss journey...lol l like to cook and eat.

Currently, l exercise at the Y atleast 3 days a week, but l push for 4 or 5 days. Most weeks l get 3 days in though but never less though.

l am going on a cruise in June, even though l have more than 25lbs to lose l think 1.5lb lose a week is not bad at all.

My weightloss goal and my weekly goal until l accomplish it, is to consistently do my workout dvds on days that l can't make it to the gym.  On Saturdays and Sundays the gym is closed by the time l get off work.

l currently do a weekly weigh in every Saturday and l just started taking swimming lessons....lol in my old age!!

 

that will be my new motto for life, who dares wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
